I'm sure most of you have seen this commercial.

<iframe width="640" height="360" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/xJrgcmqbuhQ?feature=player_detailpage" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

The thought occurred to me today... Say you handed over your smart phone to a cop, as little piggy did in the commercial. Now that you have voluntarily surrendered your phone to the cop, does he now have the legal right to search your phone?

Pretty sure it's been a story recently and they do have that right. But no, I don't agree with that.

Really? That's fucked up.

Fortunately, the only potentially damaging aspect of my life, is the crap I post on rf.net. And I never access the site through my phone.

Yeah, apparently precedent hasn't been set everywhere and it's varying from state-to-state where it has. And apparently it has to do with you being arrested, not quite the situation above.

That commercial is so "non believable".

Apparently in CA they can search phones at traffic stops, which is more along with what is originally thought:

What do you mean, "grammar-wise?" It's a terrible thread, yes, but the title's grammar seems spot on.

Maybe he just doesn't like my use of punctuation. He only likes punctuation when it's used in his name.

So, you took the apostrophe in vain?

Don't make me stick a question mark up your semicolon.

You should have a doctor look at that.

One of the many occasions where a comma was well-placed. This is how rumors get started, naughty AJ.

A legal debate is a discussion about law. An illegal debate is a debate in a place where debates are not allowed.

well, you don't know the difference
between a "martinet" and a "marionette,"
so I don't know why I bother, but for the
ever-brilliant and inquisitive Dell,
I will explain...

you used "legal" as if it meant "lawful"

the right way would be:
"Let's start a debate about the law..."

"legal" is only used the way you used it
when it applies to the practice of law, ie
-legal briefs
-legal assistant
-legal rights

please bear this in mind
when you go for your h.s. GED
