Game 5 I was on the edge of my fucking seat.....the most enjoyable sports experience i've had. It kept going and going. Then coming into ny and winning game 6 and now 7. I got nervous when martinez came out, I thought it was too soon to take lowe out.

HBox - You're most likely right about all of those, with the exception of Randy Johnson.

This was the Yankees' year to get him. The trade deadline came, and he didn't move. Given the Yankees' relationship with the D-Backs, I don't see it happening.

I refuse to feel any more confident than I did before. I believed before that the winner of the World Series was coming out of the NL. There's no way the Sox can win after a physically exhausting, emotionally draining series like that -- especially when their ace is damn near crippled.

Or maybe I'm still carrying the scars of 1986 and just can't bear to watch them tank in the World Series after taking so long to get back.

This is nice but it ain't a championship.

I'm a Yankees fan, I live and die with the men in pinstripes. But I'll be the first to admit, Boston flat out beat us. I have suffered through day 1, and surely many more to follow, of Sox fans rubbing it in my face. All I can say back to them is, "Congradulations". Honestly I have nothing else to say, you guys were the better team and you proved it. I haven't been this depressed since 1994 when Matteau scored a fluke overtime goal past Marty to win game 7 for the Rangers (who then broke a curse of their own by winning their first Cup in 54 years). I'll be watching Game 7 on the NLCS tonight closely, and whoever comes out I'll be rooting for against the Sox. But Boston and it's fans deserve to be happy with this, congrats.

Did anyone else hear Schilling on Mike and the Mad Dog today? Good interview. He gave Jeter and Torre and Matsui a ton of compliments and basically said A-Rod is not a "real" Yankee. You can listen to it on [url=http://www.wfan.com]WFAN.com

He said the same thing on Rome yesterday. He was just going on and on about how classy the Yankees organization is and how Jeter represents that perfectly. But when he got on about A Rod, he could barely restrain his animosity.

Cause Houston's Middle Relief is/was some poo poo.....Micelli gave up a couple of the big HR's in the series...

What killed them was they had no one to build a bridge to the 8th or 9th inning when they could bring in Lidge....who was phenomenal BTW.....they kept having to bring him in in the 7th...

A more pertinent question i think, is why didn't Clemens pitch game 6 instead of Munro?....

If he bans alcohol near the ballpark in that city while they're trying to enjoy their first trip to the World Series in almost 20 years he had better not be going to the games. Otherwise he'll wish he had died in a car accident back in '98.
