Banning people is really gay unless they really deserve it. i.e. pests saying that GirlNIN should be raped. I would advocate a more subjective standard of bannable.  It also annoys me though when people act that if you weren't listening to a radio show in the Metro NY area at the turn of a grand millenium then you don't matter. A lot of us have been just as big of fans of R&F since we were able to hear them. But I don't think that's what Alkey/Silera were saying. I love Alkey AND Silera, they were actually the 1st people to really reach out and be my buddays at one of my earlier events. GREAT GREAT people.I have never met Reilly (or Stugots), but they both seem just as swell.The above being said, from what I can tell of this situation, it seems that even with his reputation as a board scoundrel,Alkey pushed the envelope a little further than he's done in the past. He was banned, unbanned with a warning, disregarded the warning, and was therefore banned again. The mods and admins of this board all seem to agree that the punishment fits the crime, and they are the judiciary body here. What they decide goes; they must stand by their decisions for if they falter, the next time something similar, or worse, occurs, it may be near impossible to maintain the order that makes this board a pleasant place to visit.It always sucks to get arrested. It also  sucks to get a traffic ticket. And you always want to yell at the fucking cop who has to do these things to you. But these people, like the cop, are just doing the job theyve been appointed to, to the best of their ability. Alkey, I think Id usually have your back in any other fight, not that youd need my help. But here, it seems youve been judged to be wrong in this instance. I look forward to your return!

I've been a lurker for quite some time, and decided to register just to ask a question.With all due respect, why are the mods allowed to ban people? Shouldn't that be something reserved for the room owner? It seems like situations such as the Alky controversy are inevitable if individual mods can ban somebody on a whim. Certainly most situations can be handled by locking threads or removing posts that cross the line. Mods can take those first steps, and then the room owner can decide if the offending poster should be banned...or at least warned. I've been a member of a lot of boards (not just O&A or R&F related, either) and I've never seen mods have this kind of power.I'll admit, I know absolutely nothing about Reilly. It does seem a bit strange that somebody so new to this board has become a mod. Certainly there had to be some controversy when she was given this title. If that's the case, maybe it would be best if she didn't jump to ban somebody so quickly. I'm in sort of the same situation on Paltalk. I was asked to be an admin despite the fact that I wasn't a mic whore. Many people that are more active in the room felt they deserved it more than me (and maybe they did). With that in mind, I've been pretty low-key in how I use my "hat". When situations have come up with "room veterans" (like a controversy a couple of nights ago involving a former admin)  I've let the more-established admins handle the situation.
