I like that in order to prove that RF.net is a fair place, long standing members are constantly used as examples for it.This is Silera typing, so please don't delete this.This started as a joke because we wanted to see the Coco threads and apparently Alkey and I are so disgusting and useless as members that we can't be modded even as a joke.  It escalated when we saw that someone who joined 5 years Alkey had, is now a mod.  I don't know Reilly, I'm sure she's a wonderful person but whatever.Good to see where we stand.  Messageboard drama is stupid but so's always going against the regulars just to prove a point.

I think the "point" was "please don't repeatedly start new threads to attack the new mod just because you weren't made a mod."  Is that really so crazy-scary-nuts an idea?One of the main things when we need in a mod these days is someone who is going to be on the board a lot.  The only reason someone like Alkey or Silera wouldn't come up is because they're never here.  It's nothing personal.  Combine that with how we wanted another female mod to try and make this place slightly less of a sausage factory and that's how we got where we are now.  Reilly is new but she was getting along with everyone and seemed like a nice, balanced choice.  She definitely didn't do anything deserving of threads like that.Hell, if I had known Alkey wanted to be a mod that bad and it would have gotten you and he posting again, you could have had my spot.

See, the thing is it's not about being made a mod or not.We were fucking around and trying to see the Coco Threads, and kept being unmodded repeatedly.  So, whatever we won't be mods.  Neither of us ever left.  You all know Alkey's humor.  If you had a sense of humor then the appropriate reply would have been "Alkey's hitting the jaeger again, and there's collateral damage", not leaving it up to someone that as nice as they might be, has no idea that Alkey and myself are more hecklers than anything else.  That's where some time on the board (not mere post count) comes into play as far as mod selection goes.  Whatever, it's old hat around here.

It was a joke.I drank a bottle of Bacardi O last night.What isn't a joke is that the mods here haven't gotten my sense of humor after 6 fucking years.  I've done a lot worse shit than when I started two threads mocking the fact you modded someone who has been a member since August.  The last thread I started was a fucking apology.  After which, I was banned.  Thanks for the loyalty. And if you think I was being a dick because I wasn't made a mod, you're insane.  I privately told another mod on this board who I thought should be made mods and my name never came up.  I'm sorry for caring about this place.Reilly, I apologize, again.I don't even know you.Can I fucking post under my own name now?

Granted, but the two of you haven't really been "regulars" around here in a long time, and we've had mods made since then that aren't going to familair with your "brand" of humor.  It's give and take both ways.  And you say "unmodded"...if you guys were "modded," even just temporarily, if everyone doesn't know what's going on, the natural reaction is going to be to de-mod someone who shouldn't be a mod.  We've had some issues in the past with people outside attemtping to switch things around like that, so it's something we're a little touchy about, security-wise.And even if mistakes were made, that still doesn't excuse starting 3 seperate threads on the board with the express purpose of attacking someone else.  Nothing that happened is permanent and likely will be over after a week at the most.It sucks that there was all kinds of misunderstandings or whatever, but again, that doesn't excuse those threads showing up.  It was a bad choice, drinking or not.  The apology is out there, and I'm not the person to decide how to take it since it has nothing to do with me.  I'm just trying to explain how things look.  I "get" the humor, but it needs to be understood that anything can go over the line and maybe it's not best to subject people to it who aren't familiar with what's going on.And really, how long someone has been here has no bearing on how well they'll do as a mod.  It's pretty fucking far from rocket science.
