..the night that Obama is interviewed on The Daily Show , that SP shows the second episode of "The Coon"? Matt and Trey have some balls .
I didn't think about that. I don't know if they planned for anything. I think Obama being booked for the Daily Show was more spur of the moment and it just so happened that this episode aired.

I remember when they had the first episode, they had a prelude where they had Obama, then cut to Cartman as the character. I agree it might be coincidence, but since Matt & Trey can do things on the fly, maybe not.

Stone hasn't done shit except voice his characters for years now, and the recent College Humor ripoff just backs up how earlier in the shows run they "joked" about becoming big enough so they could just hire other people to do the writing! It's very obvious that's been the case for a while now with how lazy this show has become!

You're opinion is fine, it's just that you are wrong about Matt & Trey not writing the shows anymore. No loyaity towards them, it's just that I work for Comedy Central and know about South Park's production schedule on a weekly basis, that's all. Glad you got it figured out.

Hey, I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt! I wouldn't have thought they'd do something as hacky as ripping off College Humor so I figured they were doing the decent thing and losing their clout to cover for the writer or writers that did! Guess I'm wrong! Pretty sad either way!
Man, people really are jerky here when they don't follow the trend of the thread! So I don't like SP anymore, big deal! I can say that just as much as someone coming over here and fawning all over it!

Are you serious? Sometimes they change them up til the day they broadcast. Didnt you notice earlier in the Season when the one episode they were making fun of Arnold Swarzaneggers illegitimate kid the day after the news broke???
I finally got to watch the episode tonight. Really weird one but I have a feeling the episode where it comes back from hiatus will put everything back to normal. I think this was just a way to get people talking and probably has to do with some real annoyances with each other because of all the time theyve had to spend together lately. Ive heard because of the play they havent been able to take their usual breaks and have been working like crazy. They are just wiped right now but once that slows down and they can back to their normal routine I think theyll be fine.

But yeah, I think they're too focused on commenting on social shit and not on just making an entertaining cartoon.

Yah, the coon was some funny shit. However, South Park has implemented social commentary since day one, so to say it's changed on that front would simply be incorrect. To me the show has been a little over the top making said points, and there in lies the issue.
And the children shall lead us, lead us through shitty drawn cartoons and whacked out versions of logic. They just need to tone it down a bit.

Well, yeah, from day 1 this show has tackled political and social issues. My complaint about the show now is that they just pick something in the news and hammer away at it in a very repetitive, sort of shrill way.
I just can't imagine going back and enjoying a lot of these new episodes 10 years from now the way I can enjoy some of the shows from the first few seasons.
