I'm always on facebook, but I still think the movie was incredibly overrated.
I mean bale is cool and he was good in the fighter but he just seems so full of himself everytime he speaks, irritates me.
The only social network one I would give is the score to reznor. I thought it was great.

Tonight, chief New York Times theater critic A.O. Scott is conducting a live Q&A webcast (http://www.nytimesknownow.com/index.php/beyond-the-red-carpet-oscar-talk-with-a-o-scott/) at 7PM (I think we have to register a few hours before). Anybody can air their views on the Oscar nominations, and, if so desired, give Mr. Scott what-for. I think I'm going to ask him a question about "State of the Union." That'll confuse him.

I actually thought there was a lot of it that was way different than what it was marketed as, and I really liked those aspects of the movie. It's about a woman who is a loser because she self sabotages, and she ultimately has to overcome her self sabotaging and stop blaming her mom, and friends, and luck in order to gain any level of success. And when she does gain something it isn't like winning the lottery, it's really realistic, her level of success is pretty subdued at the end of the movie.

i just really didn't like it. the fat girl, or the "zach galifinakis" of the crew wasn't funny. at all.
and i just went over to rottentomatoes and watch the trailer for every best picture movie. (i've seen moneyball already) but everything on that list is really fuckin gay. i might sit through a couple. Just to have an idea, but wow this list is bad.
War Horse looks like total shite.
Hugo and The Descendants and maybe Midnight In Paris look watchable.
I'll pass on The Help and Tree of Life.
I really DONT want to watch Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close because i don't feel like crying for 2 hours.

did tree of life have anything to do with some sort of doomsday scenario? it doesnt seem like it should, but in the beginning of the trailer it looked like a comet hitting earth, and has images that look like it. maybe im completely off.

If the movie didn't make money, it shouldn't be allowed to win an Oscar. I am sorry. Who saw Life of Pi? Also, they need to add a Comedy and Action catagory.

What? The awards are for the quality. Not the number of tickets sold. No one went to see The Hurt Locker, but it was still a good movie.

Life of Pi was a really good movie, I liked it better than Argo, which was a good movie based on a basically boring reality. I enjoyed Argo, but the whole time I was watching it I knew that nothing nearly so exciting actually occurred.

I watched Argo today. The ending was just awful. It felt like Independence Day, not the best picture of the year.

Yeah, you and 2 other people saw it. I never even heard of Amour until tonight. Life of Pi? More like Life of Oy Vey.

Which "it"? I haven't seen Pi, and I didn't see Locker until it came out on DVD. However, a lot of people have seen Locker, as it became a HUGELY popular illegal download, after it won the Oscar. But not of that matters. The Oscars aren't supposed to be about ticket sales or profit. If it was, Adam Sandler would be building houses out of Oscars.

Either way, they need to honor comedies and action movies. Why not? I'd rather see Best Actor in a Comedy award than Best Sound Editing.

Because most of those movies aren't good movies. They're not going to honor them.

Break it down however you want, but when the ending and culmination of the story became gambling on a dance contest it got stupid. Before that it was a good movie about dealing with people with mental illness.

A: You have obviously never been around a degenerate gambler.
B: Any thing that has Jennifer Lawrence hot ass in a dance outfit is OK with me...
She was either in tight dance wear or jogging spandex the entire movie..

I thought they were doing a fine job of showing the down side of a degenerate gambler without the stupid dance contest. I'm sorry, with or without the gambling, turning this movie into a dance off took me out of it.
I was not opposed to Jennifer Lawrence in tight clothes, nor do I foresee a situation where I would be.

I had absolutely no problem because it was essentially a screwball comedy that happened to deal with serious subjects. Loved it and certainly didn't take it too seriously.

I liked Silver Linings Playbook. I thought it was acted incredibly well by everyone in the cast and the story kept me intrigued. The dance at the end was a little bit odd, but it was a romantic dramady so it's expected.
And yes, Jennifer Lawrence looked incredible throughout the whole thing.
