these tough economic times (tm) have forced hotels throughout the city to slash their rates (and many jobs). check hotwire, priceline, et al. i just did a quick check and you can get a 4 star for about 170 or a 3 star for under 120. heck, staying by newark you can get a 3.5 for 82.

Wed. I had a really early flight out of LGA so I stayed at the LaGuardia Airport Hotel, after the all the additional taxes and surcharges it came to $90.
