It's all or nothing. If you elect to receive email notifications, they tell you every single day that a new episode was uploaded. If you get annoyed with that and turn it off, you get nothing.

I get the daily notifications that the new episode is delivered. That is why I thought they hadn't uploaded the new shows, because I wasn't receiving the emails. No email that the subscription had expired however. They would rather nag me with the new Stephen King audio book offer than something I've subscribed to already and is an obvious sale.

It's very possible.
The iPhone is definitely not supported by Audible. If you attempt to use Audible directly from the iPhone browser, it says "not supported" and/or "invalid argument" depending on which Audible page you are attempting to access.

If you go to the Audible software page, it clearly states that certain Blackberries are supported. It also clearly states that iPhone is NOT currently supported but that the app is coming soon.

I wouldn't assume that. You're talking apples and oranges.
The app that the iPhone has in common with Android is the app to listen live online. That's the Sirius/XM app.
But if you're talking download from Audible, that's the Audible app/podcast app that is not yet available for Android. I'm sure it will be eventually though.

I caught that too (actually what I'm thinking of may have been on Friday's show).Ron seemed really surprised that audible was so popular as a way to listen to the show. I agree though when audible is late or screws up the order etc, I usually just listen by "alternate" means.

Are you podcasting it in iTunes? If so, scroll down the list. For some reason they've been coming in with a January release date.

There appears to be a quirk with the new Audible update where the episode will display with the date and summary on the My Library, but the Running Time is not displayed. If you click the download button, the download enters the Audible Download Manager queue then fails immediately with an error.

Later, when the Running Time appears, the episode downloads without trouble.

No problems here the past few days, I Podcast it via iTunes. I did notice the dates are all wrong and oddly enough I haven't received the email summary each day when a new episode is available in a few days now. As long as the show shows up on time and is in the correct order though I'm happy.

BTW, I tried an Android phone this weekend (I ended up returning it since there were a number of little things that annoyed me plus it had awful battery life) but the Audible app (which is in beta right now) worked perfectly. So any Android people you should be all set.

I've never heard that you can get it on iTunes. As far as I know, you can't.

I finally talked to customer support. I had the subscription in my library, but according to them I was never charged for it, so I wasn't getting new episodes. They erased it from my library and gave me a $10 credit. I bought the show I missed and the monthly subscription, which now works. Still have $1.50 left over.

Audible never gets the same "Best ofs" that XM/Sirius get when they are off. Audible just picks a show from the last six months and puts it up there, whereas XM/Sirius get a well-thought-out, put together collection of bits from Chris Stanley.

I lodge a complaint every time they fail to get a show up within 24 hours. I don't know if it helps but if enough people complain every time, it probably at least gets them to contact Chris Stanley. Sometimes they even give me a $5 credit which by the end of the year adds up to pay for a large portion of the renewal cost.

I've mentioned it before but it still amazes me that the service at the "OTHER" sites, which do not charge, can deliver the product within hours (sometimes minutes) of the end of the show, and Audible, which we pay for, keeps us waiting and waiting (sometimes several days).

Why can't they put up one show per day? Hopefully at about the same time .

Oh yeah, and I'm getting tired of the "Chris Stanley is doing all the work himself" excuse. I don't blame him but we are paying for this service. Hire someone to help the poor guy. Even one of the unpaid interns should be able to handle this.

I used to subscribe to Sirius/XM, but since I couldn't listen live while at work I was always recording the shows and listening on my mp3 player the next day. I decided it would be a lot cheaper, and a lot easier to subscribe to Audible.

Since I am paying to listen to the shows and they aren't delivering the shows in an acceptably timely manner, I have to resort to other sites.

The trick is to stay far enough behind so you don't catch up to the postings.
I'm just finishing the show from the 4th, and I still have O&A from the 5th to listen to, and I see that R&F from the 5th is now up.
I'm usually at least a day behind...sometimes two.

It is 99.9% the producers fault for not getting the product to Audible. While I agree that Audible's software, Android application, and all around product is not the best, they get the content to where I need it when they have it.

The episodes show up at random times. Sometimes.... I can see that it's available on my computer but, not on my app.
Sometimes I have to go through the process of attempting to buy the episode just to make that episode "visible" to my iPhone. (because I have a subscription, I see an "you've already purchased this episode" message)

The late Audible posts have been absolutely annoying recently. What the hell is going wrong? I get that it is only Pepper doing the episodes. I think it has been 1 out of the last 15 days that an episode was delivered by the end of the day it aired. This is completely unacceptable.

All my shows have been here. We used to get them 5-6pm the day of the show, but it seems that more and more we are getting them the next morning, 10am or so.

Hicks was actually there every day this past week "hosting" the best-ofs. Of course you wouldn't know that from listening on Audible because they don't run the best-ofs. When the boys are out of two, Audible just randomly picks an early episode and loads that in place of the best-ofs. Another reason to not like Audible.

35$ a year. i think it was on sale for 24$ when i got it around christmas. sure is easier that stealing, although since the delay is sometimes so horrendous, i end up having to bite off a piece from a certain source, which is faster and more reliable. the audio quality on the high-quality audible files is much much better than the ripped mp3s, and they come in at about the same size (~100 meg)

if its only pepper working on them i'd be a bit more understanding, but it seems like it would be a 3 minute job to take a show file, find the commercials based on a simple log kept during the show, and then fire off the raw audio to audible. oh well. i assume this is how the ripped off versions get made also.

The 51 min thing is a typo, when you download it it's the whole show. And since todays show is an archive, that means they had today off, so the 26th probably won't be up until Monday.
