Technically we've already paid for these shows, so if we have to get them from less than legal means, Audible/Sirius have no one to blame but themselves.

I can't find R&F on the usual sites - seems like someone hasn't been capturing it and uploading. Anyone have a site that has a current upload.

I too have no problem "illegaly" download, since I have three XM radios, online access, and an audible sub, so I can get the shows anyway I can *but audible is a lot easier when it works.

The question is - is the problem on Hick's side, or at Audible? Anyone asked customer service?

I emailed audible. As far as I'm concerned I'm an audible customer so it is their problem to get resolved. They should be the ones putting pressure on sirrius to get things posted in a timely fashion.

I started audible because it was easier than torrents. Also, don't kid yourself with the "I already paid for it so it's ok to get it via torrent". It's still stealing, and if caught you would be liable.

On one of last week's shows, Mark Zito made the comment that they (Hicks and Zito) load the show up to Audible very soon after its aired (I think Zito even said that one show was loaded at 3pm - right after it aired) but that the show doesn't appear available on the Audible web site until much later. Sounds like the boyz are doing their part but that Audible staff isn't hitting whatever button needs to be hit to make the files appear on their web site.

Merged, because it's true. I can understand the frustration people have, when they are more up to date on the show than I am. Personally, I'm consistently 2-4 weeks behind in listening. In my situation, I find that all of the shows EVENTUALLY end up getting posted correctly within a few days. It sucks, but hey... We are getting the show for a very low price, and we aren't stealing.

I have no real reason to defend anyone other than this... It probably sucks to be the underpaid Chriss Tanley, constantly having to deal with complaints. And I'd hate for the process to become so annoying for everyone involved, that Audible and XM/Sirius end up dropping this service. That would seriously suck balls.

I realized I don't think I ever got the episode where Nick Mason is interviewed. I don't think it showed up at the time and hasn't since. Am I the only one?

I also was having issues with loading yesterdays show on my iPhone. I had it in iTunes but it wouldn't sync. I also upgraded to iOS5 so I chalked it up to that but I had to delete the Podcast subscription in iTunes,login to audible, and click the "podcast it" button again.

How much does audible cost? I might be moving somewhere siriusxm won't reach. I pay about eight bucks a month or so for sriusxm so that works out to forty cents per show . That's just for ron&fez...which is mainly what I listen to but i do like getting unmaskeds on other channels and the stand up channels like rawdog.

Don't get me wrong I'm not rich. I know you'd have to spend money on a device too and that ultimately most people will want it as a file to listen to like a podcast at will. just wondering.


By the way I have heard people joking about how the siriusxm online service flopped. I got a free trial(although I think it should be free with a subscription)and haven't been able to get it to work. Any one have any luck with it??

Maybe it is that easy, or maybe it takes more like 30 minutes. I have no idea. But it's some amount of time that someone actually has to DO something. It's a task that adds up with all the other tasks. If we are to believe what we hear on the show, not only are they severely understaffed, but Chris doesn't trust anyone else (like interns or Fez) to do things because they fuck it up. You throw in the one other guy on the show going out of town, and it's understandable that something gets missed every once in a while.

Like I said, it annoys me when it happens, but their track record is decent enough and when it does happen, there's usually an event like an unmasked, staff going out to dinner, garbage cans of free beer in the lobby, etc. that you can line up with the missing show. It's all Chris so I try to be patient.

Yeah, it sucks. Hicks and Zeets put together their "best of" segments that air during vacations. But those shows aren't uploaded.

I never underestimate the laziness of producers, especially when they're stuck working while the rest of the crew is on vacation.

I haven't listened live for years, and never hear the actual "best of's" that air, so I'm just assuming someone still has to come in there to punch buttons and introducing the clips. If that was the case, they'd still have to cut up the audio and upload it after every "show".

But if it's all pre-recorded, then yeah, there's no excuse, unless audible just doesn't want it for some reason.

Meh. I've subscribed for years, and I'm pretty content. It's pretty cheap, and I feel like I'm getting what I paid for. And sometimes it's pretty obvious that the delay is because the show staff was busy, or had to leave right after the show ended, etc. The fault is not always with Audible.

I've learned to stay at least a day or two behind so I have content to listen to on my commutes. And I keep a supply of archived WNEW and WJFK shows on my inno to get me through vacations or delays in shows being uploaded.

Danner.... there's only been very few occasions when an episode hasn't eventually appeared on Audible.
The one exception being a "best of".

When the show takes a vacation, Pepper selects & edits specific episodes. SiriusXM subscribers get to hear those.
HOWEVER... Audible subscribers don't get those episodes. We get randomly selected episodes from the past year. No real method to it.

I've had luck before coming in here and getting shows from other sources when they weren't up on Audible, and was just trying again last week.

I was actually surprised that anyone made it in at all last Tuesday, let alone enough to go on live. I just hope that when they're fully staffed, and have the time, they'll upload last Tuesday's show. They made a reference the next day about finally having up all the phones, so I'm not sure if they were taking callers, but they also mentioned that they'd talked to ESD that day. I'd just really like to hear the immediate "aftermath" reactions and what was going on with them and the area that day.

I've never gone back and listened to the post-9-11 shows, but that's the time when I got hooked to WNEW, and especially the buddays in the evenings. The "talk radio" format gave such a clearer picture of what was going on with the people directly affected. The stuff you couldn't get from CNN.

I can see why Ron would get annoyed, seeing as how the Audible deal wasn't part of his original deal. But even if it's annoying, most of the people who listen via Audible are die hard fans, who are listening the only way they are able to, and not stealing it from him. Then again... He'd probably prefer we steal it.

Also, since you just signed up, you may or may not get the email saying that the royalty fee is going up another $0.27 in January.

Yeah, it blows, but is definitely way more consistent than audible.

Hmm...that's odd.
Maybe it's a bug with the GS3? I should note that it only happens with downloaded content, not steaming.
Why that "keep listening" even pops up at all during playback of downloaded content is beyond me.
That "feature" sucks. We pay for a service, we should be able to play one channel 24/7 if we want.
