2 WEEKS? Can I blame basketball for this? Or are they doing a recap show?
ABC.com says next week is 2 reruns of Scrubs at 8:00, then an enhanced episode of "LaFleur" at 9:00.
I thought the season was supposed to run straight thru without reruns:thumbdown:

tell that to Eko, Michael, AnaLucia, Charlie, Libby, Razzle and Dazzle. And Frogurt.
Or if you meant Richard's people, tell that to Richards people who were killed last night.
My point was that it seemed to be at a lower volume than when Sergei went thru it.

Can this show get any better?! Last night's episode was awesome.
And the Dharma Van is slowly becoming one my favorite TV vehicles.
Now we'll have another backstory as to why they stayed on the island. They might as well have as going back to the mainland in the 70's would be very problematic. Although with sport knowledge they could have made a hell of lot of money on betting.
The scene at the table with the camera twirling around was fantastic. This was one of the few episodes I have to watch again right away.
never mind; I see Wampus corrected himself.
Sawyer just mentioned Nestor Carbonell's eyeliner! Not a big deal, I just thought they would ignore that. It's something the actor has, not just Richard Alpert.
I loved that too.
I think in a podcast that the actor mentioned he doesn't put on eyeliner, but is asked that all the time; its obviously a nice inside joke.

.
I love this show. This wasn't a big action episode, but a lot of goodness

I have been thinking about Horace since last night. My question is, do you think that Sawyer eventually leveled with him over the last 3 years. I wonder this because of the cabin building episode with Horace and Locke. I wonder if he was able to be a guide for Locke because he knew the situation, or it could have just been a Lost moment that isn't related.
I knew that Sawyer and Juliet would most likely become involved, and I thought I would have massive issues with it, since I really want Sawyer and Kate to be together. Surprisingly I was happy for them. They both had to get over Kate and Jack and were able to find love with each other so that was great.
I also really liked how Sawyer was in charge. When someone asked who put Sawyer in charge I totally yelled at my TV "Hurley did mother fucker" I honestly don't think that Sawyer could be the guy he is now without Hurley's help. The whole boar feast and the fake banishing episode was a great character builder for Saywer. I also like how he dealt with Richard and used his old con man ways to make things smooth for everyone. The Sawyer we saw last night was just amazing to watch.
Rose and Bernard are still unaccounted for (but probably dead).
In a previous podcast they said Rose (and maybe bernard, i forget) is alive and will be seen again.
and Walt's dog (Vincent ?) will be seen, and will be around until the end.

It's not that the Island people are unkillable- it's that they can't die if the Island still has a purpose for them.
(ie: Jack, and Michael)

I watched it at work with
Way to protect and serve! Pay attention to those criminals please!
I for one enjoy the Sawyer love triangle. I really hope Kate doesn't mindfuck him again though. He seemed really happy with Juliet!
I was a little disappointed that the flashes stopped before we got the Black Rock story. We may still get it in a flashback but I thought it would be cool if some Losties interacted with them.
I screamed when I saw the statue, it definitely looked Egyptian and then with the ankh necklace I thought that confirmed it. I'm trying to search right now for Egyptian statues with four toes. Only thing I found so far is the Sphinx.

Where did Ben end Locke end up when they left the island? And where did Charlotte find the dead polar bear? Was that Egypt? If so, did that statue simply make the opposite trip?

The actors that play Rose and Bernard are working actors outside of lost so their disappearance is something I don't worry about the writers use then when the can and let them work on other stuff. I always imagine them exploring the island by themselves when they are missing for a while.

Tunisia, on both counts, which is on the northern top of Africa.
I doubt it made any trip, but was built by the people who were first on the island. Which falls into my Atlantis theory. There is a legend that the first Egyptians where actually survivors of Atlantis.

I imagine them experiencing the most painful and agonizing death possible and hope that the writers don't bring them back and ruin my fantasy.
I've seriously had enough of old sassy, spiritual black woman in every single form of entertainment.
Ethan...and no I dont believe it, just having some fun with the speculation.
And I like that Sawyer took the name "Le Fleur." He is "The Flower", part of the cycle of life of the island.
Wasnt LaFluer the name sawyer used when he was conning people?
C'mon...Governor Patterson saw that one coming!! It was only a matter of time before their romance bloomed. Now I am waiting to watch it all get complicated once everyone else gets back to the island.

It wasn't on last night's episode. I believe it was the first ep of the season when he is shown down where they are digging and that guy gets sick from being too close to the "time travel matter". He walks up and talks to the guy who does the dharma orientation films. I can't remember his name right now. We just didn't know how Faraday ended up there but we found out last night.

there was episode not that long ago where we see Faraday in hard hat in the swan tunnel as they were building it, and discovered the magnetic intensity.

Taweret became seen, very early in Egyptian history, as a deity of protection in pregnancy and childbirth. Pregnant women wore amulets with her name or likeness to protect their pregnancies.....
In most subsequent depictions, Taweret was depicted with features of a pregnant woman. In a composite addition to the animal-compound she was also seen with pendulous breasts, a full pregnant abdomen, and long, straight human hair on her head.
As a protector, she often was shown with one arm resting on the sa symbol, which symbolized protection, and on occasion she carried an ankh, the symbol of life, or a knife, which would be used to threaten evil spirits.
....As the goddess of motherhood, Taweret was eventually assimilated into the identity of Mut, the great-mother goddess.

* SciFiWire Interview - 'As the show progresses, [Damon Lindelof] added, it won't venture too far into science fiction as its mysteries unfold. "We're still trying to be... firmly ensconced in the world of science fact," he said in an interview. "I don't think we've shown anything on the show yet that has no rational explanation in the real world that we all function within. We certainly hint at psychic phenomena, happenstance and... things being in a place where they probably shouldn't be. But nothing is flat-out impossible. There are no spaceships. There isn't any time travel."'
* How the Producers contradicted themselves:
* In "Flashes Before Your Eyes" and "The Constant", Desmond has a lucid flashback and Desmond's consciousness did, in fact, time travel (as confirmed by the producers), respectively. In There's No Place Like Home we learn specifically that a) DHARMA was using the Orchid to conduct experiments dealing with manipulating space-time and b) that coming into contact with the "negatively charged exotic matter" when Ben moves the Island via the Orchid wheel causes him to time jump in his entirety to the Tunisian desert 10 months later in "The Shape of Things to Come", reminding us of the DHARMA polar bear skeleton Charlotte finds in "Confirmed Dead".
* Knowing that time travel has become (and possibly always was) an integral part of the show's mythology, Damon's indication that there was neither spaceships nor time travel in any interview casts major doubt and calls into suspect that there will be no spaceships in Lost. Since those statements were made during Season 1, it can be argued that there had been no spaceships or time travel to our knowledge yet, or that such information would not be revealed until later seasons. Also, it should be noted that nowhere in the SciFi Wire article is there mention of aliens one way or another; the only thing mentioned in the text relating to this section is a single reference to "spaceships." Add to this more recent statement by Lindelof that "Somewhere just outside the Crab Nebula is where it will all end, geographically," evidence of spaceships being involved in Lost actually seems to mounting... Well, to say "things being in a place where they probably shouldn't be. But nothing is flat-out impossible... There isn't any time travel." is pretty damn contradictory and could be read any number of ways. That might have been a coy response, or when they got the order that they had a finite number of years left, that changed the course they had to take.
Nevertheless, it was said, so I'll say SP1! was correct.

Maybe the statue being destroyed has something to do with women on the island having troubled pregnancies. Unless there was already an explanation for this that I forgot about.
I don't remember that specifically, but I do remember that they said things will be explainable. the time travel things will inevitably be chalked up to string theory.
The first season they may not have been sure where they were going.
I'm pretty sure I heard that Ben was not supposed to be a major character, but after they saw the impact he had, they changed course.
I think that after the writer's strike, when they had a definitive date, the storyline gelled.
edit:
I just realized there are a whole lot of things that can't be explained, like the concept that the Island won't let characters die if they are still needed.

The question is where was Ben going?? And we saw him a few weeks back all fucked up. Lopedis do it?? Sun?? Or maybe even the others?? We shall see...

And I like that Sawyer took the name "Le Fleur." He is "The Flower", part of the cycle of life of the island.

nice to meet ben
Not a very eventful episode. More of a set up one.
I'm most interested what happened to Faraday. I'm sure everyone caught that little line.
The Christian part was cool, as well.
All in all, not much happened. There's not too many things I noticed, other than the obvious runway thing at the beginning.

God...I really enjoyed tonights episode. I literally was leaping out of my seat every time a reveal happened. I LOVED that interaction between Sayid and Ben at the end. I also loved Christian is now appearing to Sun and even Lopedis.
Now we guess they are going to release Sayid into the jungle. But is it possible that maybe the Dharma people will try to kill Sayid and the survivors will release him causing a need for revenge by the Dharma people, hence they kill a "hostile" and trigger the war that ultimately leads to Ben committing genocide against Dharma.
I also loved that interaction between Sawyer and Jack at the end. I felt Sawyer is right and that a portion of the bad that has happened to the 815 survivors is cause of Jack reacting to something instead of thinking. Hell almost right away from the beginning, Jack reacts. Even when Locke was trying to tell him that the island was "beautiful." When Juliet was explaining about the roles of the "others." When the chopper appeared and Jack instantly reacted to getting off as opposed to thinking about the whole situation. Hell even getting everyone together on the flight to get them back to the island, he was reacting instead of thinking.
Hell in the beginning we saw Sawyer thinking about surviving and hording goods. He out thought everyone to get the guns. Sawyer did a lot of shitty things while on the island, but he did them after thinking and not reacting. Yet it was awkward too that interaction because Jack is not used to being in charge. Sawyer is a guy that although he thinks, he may not be one of the best people to be in charge, as a lot of his decisions tend to be self-centered. Sure this season and the last we saw a lot of changes in Sawyers character, and hell the man might have of even found purpose. But I think in the end, Sawyer is out for Sawyer.
We shall see how all of this plays out. Kudos to a great fucking episode though...two weeks off sucked, but this one ruled.
Things I learned tonight:
#1 - The Swan station still isn't built. If you remember back to the Orientation video in Season 2, the button pushing started as a result of an 'incident.' That has not occurred yet. Apparently, the thing that kills pregnant women hasn't occurred either. Are they linked? I wonder if Jughead gets detonated during this time period, or something.
#2 - It's looking more and more likely that Ben's omniscience is a result of having come in contact with the future 815ers as a kid, hence the Sayid/Young Ben meeting tonight.
#3 - Building off that, is it possible that two Ben's can't exist at the same time in the same time period? Is that why he ended up in 2007? If so, why did Sun and Frank end up there as well.
#4 - Faraday....he's either dead, on permanent assignment building the Orchid (as we saw in Episode 1), or joined the Hostiles.
#5 - Ethan is Amy and Horace's kid...hope everyone caught that.
That's about it.

1) Its possible that Jughead could be what caused the disturbance. But the key question is "was the Swan planned to be built before the 'incident' or as a result?" Because we all know that nuclear detonations cause electromagnetic disturbances. Could 'Jughead' cause long tem problems due to the islands ability to exist in various points in time??
2 and 3) I agree with Ben's overwhelming prescence. I believe he was trying to get to the island to find Jacob. And I was wondering that about Sun too...why was everyone else in the past but she was stuck in 2007?
I believe that Ben is almost like a 'castoff' now, hence why he cant return to the past. Or it could just be the fact that he cant exist at the same time. Christian did tell Sun that she had a 'journey' to go through. Perhaps some other plot vehicle that we havent seen yet, and I have a feeling Ben will be tagging along...almost in a "Gollum" fashion.
4) I dont think Faraday is dead at all. Perhaps seeing Charlotte has caused him to find assignment to the orchid, or he found his way out, hence the plot vehicle we havent seen yet.
5) Not for nothing but I called that one a few weeks back. Even if my saying it was a goof...

So now we know it's 1977. That means that Horace's other wife was before Amy and not after. And if this is Ethan, than why is he Rom not Goodspeed. And they still have to build the Swan. You think Hurley has something to do with the numbers being placed on the hatch.

Lost is really jumping around - did they get Tarentino on the writing staff? Showing Locke with Ben before we found out how Ben got there... showing Faraday helping build the swan...
What I want to know the MOST right now... only beating out what happened to Desmond/Penny/Aaron is WHAT happened to Claire? Where is she? What happened to her? I just saw a photo of the current cast and it doesnt look like she will be back this season.

I love that! Faraday said what happened happens (or something like that) It would be perfect that Hurley would be the one who put the numbers on the outside of the hatch.
I think the numbers already exist as part of that equation from the ARG they had a while ago but it would be cool if Hurley was actually the one who "came up" with the numbers back in the 1970s, it was used in the swan and transmitted on Danielle's radio tower and the it was passed around until Hurley heard them from Leonard in Santa Rosa.

I'd like it if LaFleur ends up being the one "banishing" Radzinski to the Swan in an effort to keep him from ratting. Radzinski is the one who ends up killing himself in the swan after pushing the button too many times, yeah?
Also, as far as Ethan being a Rom not a Goodspeed, he may have been too young to know his last name at the time of the purge and given a new one by his 2 dads, Ben and Richard. He becomes a surgeon, trained off the island? Or trained by Jaaack Workman?
I loved the crash landing scene! Lapidus IS Sully Sullenberger!

That scene was chilling. As he gave Sun the picture, the door opened up and you could see the black smoke swirling around. Christian might have some control over the smoke monster.

Well, Elizabeth Mitchell is a pretty good actress...Evangeline Lilly...uh...she...uh...nevermind.
She won't. Her story will pick up next season. I read that in an interview with the producers.
It's my understanding that they had to write her out for a season because Emlie de Ravin got pregnant.
If you look at her brief appearance in the Season 4 finale, she's noticably heavier. They tried to cover it up by only showing her from the shoulders up, but you could still see it in her face.

I also think Christian made a comment about Jin (and the others) being 30 yrs in the past.
I am so damn curious what that journey is that Sun has to do.,..
(I also hope they explain why Sun didn't "leap" with the others)
Hawking did say that if they didn't bring everyone back the results would be unpredictable.
It's possible they have to get Desmond, Walt, Aaron, Ji-Yeon.

the upcoming episode is titled 'he's our you'
i hope part of it goes like this...
(many years in the past)
lost characters look up and see the 4 toed statue
locke - "Who's that supposed to be?!"
natives run out of the jungle.
they surround locke
arrows and blowguns aimed
native - "He is our YOU!"
pause
COMMERCIAL
later locke can go back to the future with the natives to defeat ben and rescue his friends.
oh, and the statue gets damaged while locke is teaching the natives about explosives during an 80's rock montage
I know that's a joke, but I don't know if you knew that

first, dont they notice hurley is twice the size of everyone there?
second, why doesn't the initiative members confront ben's dad about him abusing his kid? they seem to be trying to form a 'perfect community' so why not just fire the janitor?

It's funny you bring that up.
Because I do think this season is going to end with something that either alters the future or creates a parallel universe, or an alternate reality.
But, I don't think this was it.

its just gonna explain why ben causes the mass murder.
So, some of the things that stood out to me tonight:
1) The book Ben gives Sayid....'Separate Realities' I think it was....worth noting.
2) I like laid back, waiting for something to happen Jack. It's pretty obvious that Sawyer has become the new Jack and Jack has become the new Locke. The problem for Sawyer is that he's destined to fail.
3) Sayid mentioning 'The Incident' referenced in the DHARMA video during his questioning...also worth noting.
4) I really wonder whether Illana is working for Ben, or whether her story about being a bounty hunter is true. I kind of get the feeling that Sayid is right in his suspicion and that she was sent by Ben to secure Sayid. We already know that Ben has a network of people off the island working for him. That's who that Jill chick was in the butcher shop who guarded Locke's body.
5) Could Radzinsky be any more of a dick.
6) Radzinsky's threat to 'call it in to Ann Arbor'...that's another thing worth noting. It's been stated before that DHARMA originated from Michigan.
All in all, I think the rest of this season is going to run with the idea that Sawyer and Juliet are now Jack and Kate from Season 1 & Season 2...trying to hold everything together and destined to fail at doing so.
I do wonder where Sayid goes from here.
And lastly, where the hell are Desmond and Faraday??? Can they show up in an episode once in a while?

are you waiting for him to cry some more?
It's building to something.
This season has been a transition year for him character-wise.
He's embracing the fact that he can't save everybody all of the time, which was the chief character flaw of his from the first episode on (going back to the first Jack/Christian conversation we ever see when he was a kid in his first Season 1 flashback).
Thats fucked up, I dont remember ben ever mentioning he got shot so I dont think this plays into his eventual development at all and since this happens a couple days after the plane lands it may be the reason why ben was lying in that bed on the other island.
I still think that somehow faraday causes the incident and gets sucked up into another dimension.

The plane landed on the Hydra in 2007. Young Ben was shot in 1977. The two aren't and couldn't be related.

Correct, Desmond was last seen in LA saying he was done with everything. Then we saw Ben on the docks covered in blood, which most assume was him killing Penny. It'd be nice to get that back story and some info on whether he's on his way back to the island.
As for Illana, you could very well be right. I kind of find myself liking the idea, though, that Ben knew this re-creation thing before hand (even though Jack never told him what Hawking said), and set it up.

i was totally thinking back to the future too!! stupid pitz's facebook status wrecked the end for me, so i knew that young ben was gonna get killed, but you sort of saw that coming the minute he said his name to sayid. so what i was really expecting was like the island to just implode or something if ben was dead. or like everyone from the future would just fade away like marty almost did at the end of bttf. if young ben was really dead i feel like something major would have happened. so that makes me think that he's not & the stupid island is gonna keep him around for whatever it needs him for.

Others are Sawyer's girlfriend Cassidy who played the madam on Deadwood,
The chick Sun killed on the boat, who played Trixie the whore on Deadwood,

I believe it's the Elizabeth Sarnoff connection. She was a writer on both shows, and producer of Lost.

Ok, I thought I got the whole "can't change the past, what ever happened happened," rules. But, isn't the mere existence and interaction of the Losties with the 1977 society a violation of the rules. Anything they do and anyone they meet never happened. But here it is happening. Unless there is some other part of the rules that allows this, why couldn't Sayid kill Young Ben? It's no different than any other instance involving the Losties in 1977.

AND.... we now have a really good doctor on the island. Jack is back, and Jack will probably save young Ben's life. We just see young Ben fall (quite the shocker, btw) but I'm betting Jin gets up quickly and brings the boy back to Dharma camp and Jack goes to work.
That will fall into the "whatever happened, happens" timeline because Ben still has to wipe out Dharma.
OR... someone else will have to.
This could be another one of these "changed the rules" moments.
The plane landed on the Hydra in 2007. Young Ben was shot in 1977. The two aren't and couldn't be related.
They could be if young ben is now in a coma and his future is yet to be determined, putting his future self in limbo, leaving him alive but in a vegetative state.
But what will end up happening if they get transported back to the future and sayid still thinks his purpose is to kill ben.

Second, I guess that Sayid's conversation with the bounty hunter about Benjamin Linus comes back to haunt Ben - as she will recognize his name - maybe during a power struggle between Locke and Ben for the new survivors.

This obviously isn't true, farraday changed the past when he told desmond to contact his mother and is the reason why desmond only "remembered" it after it happened.
I wouldn't be surprised if ben didn't have a similar moment in the "present" and "remembered" being shot by sayid.
If not, then Desmond being "different" will be used as the excuse, and ben would've always have gotten shot by sayid..
And doesn't this change the purpose of radinsky's map? it seemed to me as if he was exploring the island on his own and drawing the map from memory, but this seasons radinsky seems to have been an integral part in creating these stations....so why the need to make the map?
and seeing that we saw that candle guy making the training video during the construction of the orchid, and we saw jack etc. watching that same video, we can assume that farraday left the island after the construction of the orchid station.... so maybe we'll get to see if it got destroyed during the incident as well.

Sayid Jarrah, Natural Born Killer? (http://io9.com/5185727/sayid-jarrah-natural-born-killer)
Throughout the episode, as Sayid sits in jail, we see flashbacks of how he spent the last three years off the island. He kills a Russian, who Ben explains is the last one in Widmore's organization who threatened Sayid's friends. (Lostpedia reports that the Cyrillic words visible above the door when Sayid exits the apartment building after the killing read "Oldham Pharmaceuticals.") Now Sayid is "free" to live his life.
Oldham is the guy who gave Sayid the sugarcube.
Some great thoughts:
He is building houses for charity-and not coincidentally a life for himself that doesn't involve killing - when Ben tracks him down in San Domingo. He tells Sayid that John Locke is dead ("I think someone murdered him," Ben deadpans), perhaps in retribution for what he and Sayid have done. These same killers are waiting outside Hugo's asylum, says Ben, implying that Sayid needs to pick up his gun and hurry right over there.
But Sayid doesn't like killing, and so begins a conversation that only ends with Sayid's final words to young Ben before he plugs him. "It's in your nature, it's what you are. You're a killer, Sayid," the adult Ben tells him. When Sayid protests that he's not what Ben thinks he is, Ben replies, "I was mistaken about you." Of course, Ben knows he's not mistaken at all. Here time gets a little Moebius-strippy: Adult Ben already knows that Sayid shot him. Is Sayid a killer by nature, or does Ben's foreknowledge allow him to manipulate, exploit, and, ahem, nurture him into one? Despite Sayid's revelation under the influence of Oldham's acid, killing a chicken for dinner does not necessarily lead to a life as a hit man, unless you've got Ben Linus to urge you along.
Interesting take in Doc Jensen's column on EW
Despite his loathing for Ben, Sayid could see a painful part of himself in the lad. Sayid's flashback arc began with the scene where, as a young boy, he stepped in to kill a chicken for his squeamish brother. His courage elicited warm approval and affirmation from his hard father, while his brother's reticence earned his father's shame; and so we saw how killing became hardwired into Sayid's personhood and his innate conception of manhood. Sayid's sacrifice act reminded me of Mr. Eko's flashback, in which warlords ordered Eko's brother Yemi to kill an unarmed man or be killed himself. Yemi couldn't do it. To save his life, Eko stepped up and did the deed. Now, killing a chicken for the sake of the family supper is severely less egregious than murdering a human being for bloodsport. But the idea and irony are the same. And I worry they may lead to the same place. Initially, Mr. Eko seemed repentant about his past. But in the end, he recanted: ''I have done nothing wrong.'' Similarly, under the influence of truth telling drugs, Sayid confessed, ''I am a bad man.'' But by the end of the episode, he convinced himself that his capacity and competency for killing could be redeemed by nipping future tyrants in their still-innocent bud. I'm not sure that qualifies as redemption and atonement.
I wonder if this means Sayid may be the next Smokey fodder.

they are not changing anything in 1977. they had always already been there. I guarantee you that in the next episode or two we are going to find that ben fully remembered being shot by sayid when sayid originally tortured him when he was Henry Gale.
When Faraday talked to the Desmond in the hatch he said that for some reason "the rules" did not apply to him and he could change the past. The show runners have said that there are no alternate realities in lost. In season 4 if any of Locke's group had gone into the recruitment center they would have seen the picture of them (that Christan showed Sun last week) on the wall .
For the record this is my opinion as i never read spoilers.

Not really, he was basiclly locked up in there. He wasn't able to leave the station. They only had what was it a half hour to return. Don't you think consistenly pressing the button without contact to the outside world because the rest of your people were killed, and doing it for all those years would make you draw a map to when you were somewhat sane. I know I would need to do something to try not to go crazy. Didn't work for him though. I got watch season 2 again, wasn't it a shotgun to the head. Sawyer is probably the one that gives him the Swan assignment.
And now it makes sense that Kelvin Inman or whatever his name his was chosen to be a part of the Swan. Alpert or Locke must have known his fate would have him run in to Sayid.

They addressed Sayid shooting a 12 year old kid and asked if one would kill Hitler as a child if they knew what he would grow up to become, then Damon said it would be interesting if one shot Hitler and failed to kill him, and that shooting is a key factor in making Hitler the man he became.

I also like the idea of the Cradle of Darkness Twilight Zone (although it probably wouldn't work here), where people travel back in time to kill baby Hitler, and the chick posing as his nanny takes the baby and drowns both it, and herself, but then afterwards, one of the servants notices that Baby Hitler is missing, goes to a homeless woman and buys her child, and that kid grows up to be Hitler.
I like that Damon and Carlton are talking the way of Sayid causing Ben to become what he is. Remember the Room 23 brainwashing video in Season 3? "We are the causes of our own suffering..."

i am just amazed at how many of you can get so deep into the show. I still have to watch the episode before watching the new one, and even then, i'm easily lost. what i need to do is rewatch the entire show - again.

this just hit me in the RIP.NETTERS thread,if locke was in the funeral home, wasn't his blood drained and he was embalmed? would make it kinda hard to function if he was really alive, dontcha think

well, i would assume that sine ben was behind Locke's death, he didn't do that. you could also assume that since that island has such crazy properties that it may as well give blood to people while they bring them back from the dead.

Because everything else up to that point had been sooooooo logical.

Well the Black Rock arrived at the island about a dozen years before dynamite was invented, so there.

Man, I couldve sworn someone asked this, but I cant find it to quote it...Fuck, I'll answer anyway.
Someone thought they saw Sawyer's hand up during the vote to kill Sayid prior to him being specifically asked, and thought it was perhaps an editing error. I just rewatched the ep, and see it's an extra who simply looks like Sawyer, but not sitting anywhere near him.
There, now that Ive completely cleared up something that may have never been asked...
Something I noticed:
After Ben12 tells Sayid that his Dad broke his glasses, Sayid says his father was a hard man too. Ben12 pauses, then says, "I really hated him".
He says it in the past tense; so I ask you:
A) We know Ben is older when he kills his dad. Is he just saying he no longer considers him his dad since he's running away? OR
B) Is Ben12 somehow talking about knowing and hating Sayid's dad???

Yeah, that was me. Thanks Chris.

Christian was presumably embalmed in Sydney, and yet here we are.
Locke was replacing Christian's body on 316, so my guess is Locke is alive in the same sense Christian is.
This raises an interesting question, though...Christian seems to have the ability to manifest himself anywhere. Locke, so far, just seems alive as he always was.
I wonder if Christian woke up in the jungle the day after the crash much in the same manner Locke did after 316, completely conscious and in control of himself, and was led to either Jacob or the Smoke Monster and voluntarily offered himself up as a vessel in thanks to being brought back to life.
Locke could end up doing the same.
...of course, there's also the possibility that the funeral parlor was a setup by Ben. It's been established that Ben has a network of people all over the world. It's really not much of a stretch to say that Locke's body was arranged to be placed there and the funeral director was suppose to hold it until Jack eventually came.
And actually, come to think of it, didn't Ben make a point to store Locke's body in the meat locker of the butcher's shop?

Was it just me, or did Sawyer have his hand up in the first cut of the voting scene and then have to raise it when they went to the close-up shot? Tsk, tsk. Sloppy editing.
Thanx Razor, I thought I was goin insane. lol
So where does everyone think this season ranks, so far, with the rest?
I'd probably go:
-Season 4 (there's only really one mediocre episode, and that's the Juliet one.)
-Season 1 (the way the characters were introduced and slowly built was just great storytelling all around)
-Season 5 (I'm liking the time travel mythology stuff, but I'm not entirely sure if I'm into the rest of this season revolving around the DHARMA story, other than the Ben stuff)
-Season 3 (The second half of the season is fantastic, but all the stuff on the Hydra is pretty bad except for the episode where Kate and Sawyer escape)
-Season 2 (Way too much filler. Should have spent more time on the Tailies)

They killed off the 3 most interesting Tailies as soon as we got to know them. My only problem in introducing them to the story was that nothing really became of ANY of them except for Bernard.
