and even though Minny old OC is in Seattle, Flynn will be the starter...unless injured, and even then he's better than Jackson

I just read that Mia is actually negotiating a contract with Smith. I dont believe much of this shit Im reading anymore because every thing the media has said this off-season has been wrong and then 20 mins later something else comes out or they then correct themselves. Everyone (ESPN) is in such a hurry to report something they wind up reporting nothing but making shit up.
Spoon at this point I dont want any of these fuckers that are left. I was all in for Manning and only Manning. If we cant have him then look to this years draft or hopefully get Barkley next year! I just dont know anymore but Ross is a joke and Ireland is the worst GM in the league. I dont want to hear you complain once this year about AJ. If you do you must start off all bitching with "I know AJ isnt as bad as Ireland but..."!

Weren't you excited about Flynn at some point?
yes when he threw for 600 yards in jan but then I remembered him when he came out of college and what a disaster a lot of back ups turn out to be especially those with limited resumes. I said all along he was going to want $10 mil a year and I wouldnt want to give him close to that much. Even at $7-8 mil a year I thought it was going to be too much for him. Now the contract he got would have been decent to take a chance on him but Im not pissed either way. I think we all fell for the media hype after that 1 big game and as time passed many included the phins came back to earth.
I do disagree with spoon on that they could have easily traded him. I think that was all talk because they would have if they could have. Just look at his free agency, he had only 2 teams even look at him and he did wind up only signing for 3 year $19 mil. There is no way you can tell me truthfully you believe that GB could have easily traded him with a $14 mil dollar price tag when he did sign a much smaller contract? When NE franchised Cassel it was like a $10 or $12 million #, he was traded and signed a 6 year deal worth $63 million. GB had to know that the market was much smaller then us fans originally thought.
spoon
03-18-2012, 04:02 PM
Well first off, you can easily move a franchised player and make the one year originally offered much less over time. It's not like they have to go 14 million per year bc of the franchise tag, much less even average that and or give too much gar money.
Next, saying his market is just two teams is crazy. He may have looked into those two, and even others that the news/media missed (who you said yourself have been off all year). Bottom line is he's a qb who showed some nice abilities in his limited time in the NFL as a backup, and learned in a great system under a great qb. To say you really believe only 2 teams had interest in the end is just off. He may not have been the top of some lists, bc f'n MANNING is out there and all, but once he finally signed the Flynn money probably would have gone up and suitors would start feeling the pressure. Rumor has it that the ex GB staff in Seattle convinced him to make the call early and line this up now. I tend to believe that too, as he wants his shot, never had a greedy take on this and clearly has the best opp of his life to start for a while in Seattle. Heck, they even moved their backup in Seattle too, so it's clearly Flynn's job to lose...and I doubt he will. They have some good O talent there too.

you could be right but i cant see how it could be that. if he had other teams that wanted him he would have had other offers I would think. I would also think he would have gotten a better deal then 3 years for $6.5 a year. That extremely low end starter money. I understand he might not be a greedy guy but what was the rush to listen to for GB people in Sea? If he had other others he could have talked to like Clev and now even SF why rush it, its not like he gets the play book now and can work with the team. Under the new cba players cant do anything with the teams until next month. Thats why Harbaugh threw passes to Moss, no players are allowed to show up or do anything with teams at all only free agents can try out but once singed they cant do anything. Manning hurt his marker but he was just 1 guy he wasnt taking every job out there. Another reason I believe the market was limited if he waited for Manning to sign there might have been more interest but the fact that he didnt wait to sign and took such a small contract considering everything you have to believe he, his agent etc knew the market wasnt there for him.
I just heard 2 more things about this. His father was asked why sea over mia and he said "They had a difference in evaluation as to his value,” Flynn’s father, Alvin, said by phone. That sounds like Mia offered him less money and didnt want him. You would think his former OC would know him best, if he wouldnt fight to offer him starter money then something must be there.
I also heard that mia told him to sign elsewhere because they werent going to pursue him any further then they already had and were going to focus on Smith. Now this I find hard to believe or better yet hope isnt true because I dont want Smith either. I just truly believe their market was limited at best even with lots of teams needed a QB.

I thought Whitehurst left as a free agent and signed before Sea even showed interest in Flynn?
Trust me Im not happy with the direction this team continues to go in but I think this was their best move this off-season. Dont over pay someone because of 2 games over 2 years. Maybe 3 year $19 million they should have taken a shot but Im so happy they didnt trade picks and or pay him $10 million a year. We will see what happens but I wouldnt be surprised if he turns into Kolb last year.

Flynn has gotta be better then Jackson and that's all he need to be
spoon
03-18-2012, 04:46 PM
Every factor out there right now pretty much drove down the price for Flynn and other free agent qbs right now not named Manning. The Kolb disaster in Zona (mister 35 tds himself), Miami having little to offer a qb right now, Manning entering the free agent pool as the clear cut top target, teams very close to the cap in need, the press focused on rumors like a pack of wild dogs, two highly touted qbs in this upcoming draft (among others on the fringe) and a whole lot of mid level qbs available to bridge gaps until their next in line if said team has one or about to draft one.
spoon
03-18-2012, 04:47 PM
And to be honest, Flynn got respectable money for a guy coming into a possible starting position versus the crazy contract Kolb got. It's much more realistic and smart of any team to look at a player this way as opposed to the Kolb contract...yet they didn't have to trade to get him and hence didn't have to overvalue him in an effort to make it official.

Really starting to look like Miami is getting Smith, SF Manning and Tenn/Denver go status quo and Elway and CJ are both going to cry!
On another note, great backup Billy Volek is out there as SD cut him. Why no interest there I wonder? He's older sure, but never bad when called upon. If I were either Tenn or Denver...much less any team that doesn't get their guy, should look into the guy. Then again, isn't Hasselbeck still signed in Tenn and Locker their kid in training? Not sure Manning or Volek truly fit there.
Denver however, yah they lost Orton, Quinn and have WHO backing up the running qb about to get injuries galore if you ask me?
Kevin

Flynn is getting paid more than a #1pick rookie QB. Which he basically is right now as far a playing time and start games.
Like spoon said, he could have been greedy and wait out Manning but when you look at it, he got the best possible deal and the best possible position to start.
He is 26, if he proves himself he will be 29 when the deal is done, still at a young enough age where he will get his money plus his peers by then In Ryan, Stafford and company will get deals that he can base his demands on.
Plus Seattle is also a less desperate fan base and franchise than Miami. If he went to Miami he would be thought of as a Franchise making QB. And even he at this point does not know if he can be.

Volek would be the perfect back up for the Jets.
Someone just good enough to where if Sanchez has a stinker he could get yanked and you would still have a shot to pull the game out.
Thats the problem with Sanchez and the Jets. They do not have a competent back up to make Sanchez fear that he would be yanked. And until that happens, he will never progress or have the work ethic to.

I liked this article til it got to Tebow. I cant see how Tebow would energize mia fans. I do not want him.
http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000d5d827af9c5/article/dolphins-left-playing-qb-shell-game-after-seahawks-land-flynn
know this: If Miami wanted Flynn, it could have had him.
New Dolphins coach Joe Philbin was Flynn's position coach at Green Bay and knows just about everything there is to know about the former seventh-round pick who has started two games in his career. If their relationship was bad, a meeting never would have been arranged, so scrap that theory. If Miami really thought he was The Guy, it would have showed its intent. It didn't, so he took his talents to the Space Needle.
ugh please no Tebow. If we had to sign someone if any of these scenarios happen then I hope Manning goes to Tenn as I have wanted anyway and we sign Hasselbeck. I really dont want any of them and would rather just start Moore 1 more year but at least Hasselbeck could be a serviceable QB that would be worth whatever 1 or 2 year contract we give him.
Which leads back to the Dolphins: Miami could slow-play Smith -- unless it desperately wants him. Smith's only option for now is San Francisco with Seattle out of the game. Should Manning pick Tennessee, Matt Hasselbeck could hit the market. Though Hasselbeck is older and injury prone, if he plays like he did last season, he could make the Brandon Marshall-less Dolphins competitive -- if any receivers are left to add since they're being picked off in free agency by the minute.
Should Manning opt for Denver, well, Tim Tebow is an option. He'll sell tickets but Philbin, in his first coaching stint, would have his knees taken out because he'd have to tailor his offense to fit Tebow's skill set. Tebow would energize fans, though, which has been a recent problem in South Florida.

I dont think its what people wanted but its better then signing Smith at $8 million a year. If Miami signs any of these leftover QBs they will have torches and pitchforks no matter what. Moore was actually 6-6 as a starter last year and had a pretty decent year. He only had 1 less TD then Smith for the season.

Other then smith I cant see anyone else out there coming in as a starter unless Manning goes to Tenn then add Hasselbeck as well.

Of all the OB's in the running for Mia. Smith is the only one with a higher rating from last season than Moore.
It has more to do with what the owner said about getting a franchise QB. And last year about getting competition at QB

Frank Gore

Michael Crabtree

When he left school he held 2 NCAA records and 7 SEC records.
He went 40-9 in his career starting as a freshman in what was probably the toughest conference in football.
In his freshman year 3 of the 4 games he lost were to teams ranked #1, #10 and #14.
In his sophmore year he went 11-1 with the only loss to #4 UF.
In his junior year he went 10-2 with again a loss to #4 UF ( and a stinker to Memphis ).
His senior year he went 11-2 with his losses to then #1 UF and eventual #1, and co-national champion Nebraska ( #2 at the time ).
He went 3-1 in bowl games with the only loss to Nebraska.
I wouldn't call any of that " ordinary ".
That's why it drives me crazy to hear Andrew Luck compared to him when Luck has not only not beaten his UF ( which would be Oregon ) he hasn't beaten anybody of note other than a castrated USC team and an overrated ND team.

that they absolutely have weapons on offense in d. thomas and with manning throwing to him, who knows how great he can be. and their defense is solid and only getting better with experience. if manning was the qb of that denver team last year, they probably would have caused a lot of problems for teams in the playoffs. even though they won games with tebow, he really handcuffed that team.

Talk about not knowing what you are talking about. Lets see, the 19th ranked def that just lost 2 starters is solid and getting better... ok! You are guessing a wr who has never caught more then 35 passes will be great only because of Manning? I agree Manning will make everyone better but will he turn someone into a #1 or stud wr? We dont know but what we did know going into this off season was he wasnt considered a top wr. They have one of the worst offensive lines in the league. Yeah that will make a QB who isnt mobile want to rush to their team especially coming off 4 neck surgery's. Once again another reason I didnt think he would even look at Denver. You named 1 offensive weapon and he hasnt proven it yet. So thanks for the clarity you really showed me! I was wrong because he not only made them an early fav he signed there.

Really? Before San Frans name popped up I really thought they were the front runners. They had a decent but not great team. But the receivers werent bad, their defense showed they could play, and they are in the weakest division in the NFL. Hes just about guaranteed a playoff spot. Not to mention you know Elway and Fox are gonna basically let him call his own plays on offense making him the OC like he was in Indy.
Like I said, this was Elways only chance to get rid of Tebow without being chased out of town, he was gonna do anything he could to make that happen.
Miami didnt have enough help to guarantee Manning a playoff spot. No way they were beating New England. And Tennessee, I just never understood. The college connection was all he had there, I really didnt see it. But I am shocked he walked away from San Fran. Maybe Harbaugh wasnt going to just hand over his offense to him. I dont know. But they definitely looked like Mannings best shot at another ring.

I do agree with you on many of that especially how weak the div is and that this was the only real way Elway could get rid of Tebow and sell it to his fan base. I still say dont count out SD they could still win that div.
Didnt you say that you thought Manning would go to Mia at the start of free agency? Seems there were a lot more that said that on here then just me. I know that was the pick on ESPN, ESPN.com, CBS Sports and most other polls and sites
Smith will probably sign with sf. to be honest why wouldnt he SF is in an easier div and their team won 13 games last season? Mia is all fucked up right now and is a 6-10 team.
The question is how many games will Denver win next season? If Den has a worse record next year with Manning then with Tebow could you imagine the media and all the talking heads?

Maybe he is so loved in Tenn because he actually chose Tenn over his fathers Mississippi? Why did he choose Tenn originally anyway? Was there some specific reason that was public?

He had a great college career but If I remember correctly wasnt his problem that he couldnt win the "big game"? Didnt he have a problem beating Florida (maybe it was lsu). He seemed to always had a problem beating 1 of those really good teams.?
Maybe he is so loved in Tenn because he actually chose Tenn over his fathers Mississippi? Why did he choose Tenn originally anyway? Was there some specific reason that was public?
Its apparent that he does not want any pressure at all.
He ran away from it in College.
All but 1 year crumbled in it in Indy.
And now ran away from it again by choosing Den over San Fran.
Eli does not have the ability he has but if you have a team and want to win, its becoming clearer and clearer that you pick him over peyton.

Here's the thing: I can't see Peyton Manning having more than a season or two left on him. Usually, in football, when a player starts getting injured like this, they go into a sharp decline. So he needs to be in a situation where he can make a difference right away and push a team over the top. SF is much more of a fit for him there than Denver is. Even with an actual QB, I don't think Denver would have been all that much better than they were, and I'm not sure they have the pieces to run an offense that suits Peyton Manning anyway.
Which is not to say that they suck, but I don't think Peyton Manning's their guy.

How is it clearer and clearer ?
If Peyton does end up winning another SB he's infinitely better than Eli.
One is considered a Top 10 player all time and the other had to defend himself, prior to winning a SB, that he was even elite nevermind an all time great.
1 more Super Bowl doesn't wipe out 4 MVPs.
Again we're back to this thought that more SB rings means better.
So Doug Williams is greater than Dan Marino ?

Most of those MVPs were followed by 1and done.
I'm not saying Eli is a better QB.
I'm saying if I want to win I pick him.
Its a different argument
And lets not forget Eli has won his SBs with far inferior teams and 5less years?
No one is arguing talent.
I'm arguing he is the better win QB.
If Eli had to choose between Den and SF.
He would pick SF everytime.
No other reason I can think of other than once again running from pressure

Maybe he doesn't think SF is as good as some people do.
2 malcontent WRs ( Moss and Crabtree ) and a new one that who knows what you're going to get out of him ( Manningham ).
I would add climate/game conditions to the argument but I don't seem them being much better in Denver so that's a push I guess.

No I didnt pick Miami. When this started I had no idea where he was gonna end up. When they named the 3 teams Miami, Denver, and Tennessee I said I thought Denver was the front runner. But when San Fran appeared I thought it would be them.

Miami has been shit the past few years but at least they have gone to the playoffs and won the div during these tough times. When was the last time Buf had a winning record let alone make the playoffs? You guys had the same record as Miami did last year after starting 4-1. sorry triple skeet if this true.
After speaking with Broncos sources, Yahoo's Mike Silver believes the team "won't be trying to drive a hard bargain" in shopping Tim Tebow around the league.
As Rotoworld's Evan Silva points out, Tebow's contract isn't going to be easy to move with escalators pushing his 2013-2014 salaries to $6.05 million and $7.14 million. The home-state Jaguars and Dolphins will be the media favorites to land Tebow, but the Eagles may make the most sense. Don't rule out a reunion with Josh McDaniels, either, if the Patriots can land an early-round pick for Ryan Mallett or Brian Hoyer.

Meh. I wouldnt care becaus he would be a backup. Im sure there would be a good portion of fans crying for him to start, but despite my reputation, I dont feel being white alone makes you a good QB. Seriously? For someone who is around 30-45 years old & grew up in the Super Bowl era of the NFL, it's not real uncommon to become a fan of a non-local team. Especially in an area like new Jersey where there wasn't technically a true home team.
I can only speak from my own experience, but growing up in North Jersey (Morris County) I knew a handful of Jets fans, a lot of Giants fans, but still a decent amount of 49ers fans, Steeler fans, Cowboy fans, Raiders fans, & a more than few Dolphins fans (a ton of North Jersey Italians became Marino fans). The teams that were good every year, showed up in the playoff a lot, & especially those who won a bunch of titles had fans regardless of geography.
Now, if you grew up in Texas you're probably a Cowboys fans. If you grew up in Pittsburgh, you're a Steelers fan...but a Phins fan from Jersey is no stretch. Shit there's enough of them that they have their own sports bar in Hanover.

It's going to be awesome to watch the wildcat even slower.
It is usually run with speedy guys and it still takes so long to develop and is easy to read, now you're adding a full back to the mix. It's going to be amazing.

Payton gets a year? Wow.
The Saints may have to challenge this legally.
There seems to be a lack of precedence to hand down such a harsh punishment.
So essentially killing a man while driving drunk is the same penalty for turning a blind eye to some questionable behavior ?
The hits in question weren't villified at the time but now they are worse because of context ?
Can they prove any single play was made because of the bounty ?
Did they do an exhaustive review of every teams policies ?
How is this worse than cheating by spying on a team ?
I agree, as a Sants fan, that the whole thing was a despicable but this punishment is way too severe.

sadly, im watchin Baylors pro day right now on ESPN U as i get ready for work
I gotta say, based on what I watched in college and what im seeing right now in this fuckin workout, if im the Colts, im taking RG. He is putting the ball exactly where he needs it to be on pretty much every throw. He is like 74-80 passing and 4 of them were drops.
I was impressed when he had more TDs than INTs through like 5 games last season, but i think im more impressed with his accuracy today. Lets just hope he can learn and read defenses well.
I really hope he doesnt go to the fuckin skins

thats it but in 2013, 2014 he has big escalators they say that make it like $6 and $7 million for those years. Thats why they thought no one would trade for him and he would be cut instead.

After word spread rapidly Wednesday that the New York Jets had acquired quarterback Tim Tebow from Denver for draft picks, the teams have encountered a hang-up in the language in Tebow's contract that could nullify the trade, a Broncos source tells ESPN NFL Insider Adam Schefter.
Tebow has about $5 million worth of recapture language in his contract, meaning the Jets would have to pay back some money to Denver, and the Jets might be unwilling to do that.
The trade, then, is not finalized.

Sure he can.
If the owners put up a fight here (which they won't), it means he'd stop being able to arbitrarily fine and suspend players, which no owner wants him to stop being able to do.
The NFL created this monster, and now teams are having to deal with it.
Goddell has been this awful commissioner, just randomly punishing players and teams and everyone lauded him for it. Now that it's hit your team, you suddenly think he should be stopped.

How do the jets first make a trade, see the massive backlash, almost void the trade and then decide to go through with it. I hate the jets for what they are doing to my dying grandmother.
Not 1 person in the media on tv or radio has said anything good about this trade. No one seems to understand it from any level other then trying to steal headlines from the giants. its a stupid football move and most of the fan base seems to be pissed.

When did I ever say in my post ANY of this?
I said my hope is that Tebow lights a fire under Sanchez' ass. But I know it won't because I don't think Sanchez is mentally tough enough. I think it's going to turn into a bad situation.
Bottom line is, the Jets made a value prop to get Tebow. He doesn't make a huge cap hit, but Tebow wants to be a starting quarterback. I hope he develops into one. Hell, if he turns into the second coming of Brad Smith I'll be happy.

Fucking love the Onion.
NEW YORK—Confusion, disgust, and terror were among the emotions new Jets quarterback Tim Tebow reported feeling after a 20-minute phone call with New York coach Rex Ryan. "Coach Ryan is a very…expressive person. Really descriptive. He can be a little vulgar, though," the visibly distraught Tebow told reporters while attempting to hold a glass of ice water steady enough to drink from it. "He told me what he wants the Jets to do next year. Then he told me I'd like New York, and why. Then he told me about, about the 'fun' we are all going to have together. That was most of the call. I have to go now. I have to call my parents. I have to be alone for a while." Coach Ryan said he enjoyed talking with Tebow, whom he described as "a nice, quiet kid with a good head for football who gasps a lot when you talk about poontang."

Given the following:
1) Brad Smith was a valuable asset to the Jets and the offense was missing something when he was gone (don't give me this that Kerley did just as good a job, he didn't.)
2) IF the Jets hadn't signed Drew Stanton
3) IF the Jets hadn't extended Sanchez
4) IF the Jets had done something to address the Wayne Hunter issue
then no, I wouldn't have a problem with the Tebow deal.
The Jets have too many glaring holes right now to worry about Tebow

Why cant you just admit that Tebow the NFL QB sucks and the only reason you like him or wish him to do well is b/c his off the field life? Deep down you know he is shit and you do not want him on your team because you know this. Fact is he probably shouldnt even be in the NFL. He is 7-7 as a starter and all 7 of his wins are 4th Q come backs. The reason they had to come back in all those games isnt because his team was in back and forth battles or his defense was getting killed but because he could do nothing for 3 1/2 q and some how finally got a drive together late usually when the defense changed to prevent or played differently then they did the entire game. 46% comp as a pro football player, please he has no business being in the nfl if he was any other player he would be gone.

I hated, hated, hated Tebow when he played at Florida. I wished him dead every week.
But, once he was drafted (should have been a 6th round pick at best) he kinda grew on me and I found a respect for him that I didnt have before. That kid has the heart of a lion and is a winner. He wont quit or not give 100% - no matter what. He stands firm on his beliefs (that most of the world hate him for and make fun of him constantly) and I appreciate that.
I will admit that I dont think that he is a NFL QB - but a specialist. Short yardage situations - he will own it. He will burn the other team at least once a game by throwing the ball when they have 10 in the box to stop the run. He can be an asset.
Now, I dont want him or what he brings on my team (Go Skins!) but I really do feel that once we are deep into the season, he will have won over most of the nay sayers with his performance on the field.
I truly want this guy to be successful - just for the reason that he is not backing down to the assholes that condem him for his beliefs. But I would be so disgusted if my Skins would have acquired him - so I know what most of you jet fans are feeling. Give it a year and see what happens - I predict it will be positive.

I like the guy because I liked him in college. I don't care about his beliefs. Sure it's great that he does good and all that but so do a lot of players.
I know he'll never be a great player but that doesn't mean I have to hate him.
On the flipside I have to hear how good Sanchez is because he " took them to 2 AFC championship Games " and he's the prototypical pro QB.
So I'm supposed to like QBs, even if they suck, just because they throw the ball w/ a better motion than another guy ?
Not to blend topics but living in the NY area all I hear every day during baseball season is how Jeter " does it right " and is such a great person because he doesn't get in trouble when the fact is there are 600+ other MLB players that " do it right " and by doing it right I mean living like a civilized human being like most of us.

You must listen to Boomer and Carton because Carton is the only person I ever heard talk about how good Sanchez is and always throws out the back to back afc title games. Sanchez isnt a good QB he was 5th lowest ranked last year but he was still better then Tebow who was the 3rd worst in the entire league. Only Painter and I think the rookie from Jax were worse. Thankfully I only listen to B & C once or twice a month for a few mins because it becomes unbearable.
The funny thing is I actually liked Tebow his first 2 or 3 years in College and was all in for him winning the Heisman his soph year when most said he shouldn't or wont because sophomores cant or shouldn't be allowed to or whatever. He did and was the 1st and I was happy for him. But then it just didnt stop with all the religious crap. I have no problem with his beliefs and think he has every right to have them and live how he chooses. My problem is how he throws it in everyone's face. If he were Muslim all of you that like him would now hate him. So hes famous and liked not because hes a good NFL QB but because hes a religious nut. If an antheist who is a good person mentioned how there was no god every day he would get killed by the media even if he did everything right off the field. When watching the Pat Tillman story all these people who had no relationship with Pat spoke at his memorial and the family had no say. They are a great family with zero religious beliefs and have done and lost more for this country then Tim Tebow ever has. People spoke about god and religion at his service when he wanted none of that. His brother finally spoke and said...
"Thanks Pat. [toasting him with a glass of Guiness beer] I didn't write shit because I'm not a writer. I'm not just going to sit here and break down on you. But thanks for coming. Pat's a fucking champion and always will be. Just make no mistake, he'd want me to say this: He's not with God. He's fucking dead. He's not religious. So, thanks for your thoughts, but he's fucking dead."
His brother and family got so much negative press and people didnt like it. It was their fucking family members funeral sorry but they are a huge demographic (non believers) in this country and have the right to not play into others beliefs. Atheist and agnostic (No Religion) people are actually the 2nd largest group in this country. Christians are #1 with 76% of the U.S. population, None or No religious beliefs 15%, then those who didnt know how to answer the question at 5.2%, Muslims under 1% and Jewish 1.2 % yet those who belief in no God are the least represented and least allowed to share their opinion.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demographics_of_the_United_States
The fact is hes is not an NFL quality QB and every NFL team knows it. The truth is the only reason he is in the NFL is to sell tickets and jerseys. The Jets did this for no other reason but to steal the back page from the NYG and they will. He is a great athlete who cant throw a catch-able pass and should either change to a tight end or h back if not he will never be a true starting QB in the NFL.

he got 80 yards in overtime on 1 play because the def stacked the line not thinking they would throw the ball. That was pitts error more then it was Tebow making a good play. Everyone knows that.
Did Tebow only complete 46% of his passes while only avg 150 yards a game as a starter? That is fucking terrible. Sorry but you cant spin that. Anyone who watched him throw a pass knows that he cant succeed as a QB in this league.
I cant believe Im going to back Sanchez but Sanchez actually had 6 playoff games and 4 wins and yes I do believe he actually had his best #s playing in some of those playoff games!
Sanchez 6 playoff games,
60.5% comp (better then his career or any season so far for him)
1155 total passing yards
9 Tds only 3 Ints
94.3 QB rating
He has been better in the playoffs which is good for him.

The KC game was a huge shit sandwich all around, but how many qb's are going to win when the other team puts up 40 and 41?
He's obviously not as good as the hysteria last year, but he's also not nearly as bad as people make him out to be.
a team doesnt put up 40 and 41 if the other team isnt goin 3 and outs and throwing incompletes left and right, allowing no time to run off while they gas their own defense. Its alot more of a reason that you think
and yes, he is as bad. in fact, he is probably WORSE than most people make him out to be

They lost 7-3 to KC how come he couldn't win that game? His def held KC to 7 points.
They won 2 games all year with him at QB where they scored 30 or more points and all the other wins their def held teams to avg less then 14 points and he still needed 4th q comebacks because he did nothing for the entire game. Hes not a good or even avg nfl qb. He throws the worst ball most fans have ever seen.

I did but you cant have it both ways and say that was a shit sandwich and then say how many qbs will win when def gives up 40 points. NE had the worst def in the league last year yet he couldn't score against them either time they played. 33 total points in 2 games is terrible.

yea, losing 41-23 to NE, then 40-14 to buffalo, then 7-3 to KC was HUGE. He is a fuckin scrub. They got lucky just to backdoor it into the playoffs and then get a steelers team who had like 400 guys out injured.
And then got eviscerated by the Patriots in the playoffs.

You know that Sanchez is pissed to have Teblow breathing down his back - stealing all of the spotlight.
i hope that he responds well and kicks some ass from it

How is he throwing his beliefs in your face ? Because he stands by what he believes and will talk about it ?
Turn the channel when he's being interviewed if you don't want to hear him.
Sure the media has caught on, in both a negative and positive way, but they do that w/ any gimmick.
For years a can watch a guy throw a screen pass that turns into an 80 yard TD and it was no problem but when Tebow does it it's only a 10 yards pass and the receiver ran the rest of the way.
Fine, let's start calculating the stat like that.
Let's go back and see how many of the yards Brady, Manning, Marino, etc ... are creditied with were are actually YAC.
I do listen to Carton and yes he does sing Sanchez's praises but it's more than him that's been saying it this week.
Anybody who claims that the Jets were wrong for pursuing Manning and now Tebow, because of Sanchez's delicate temperment, are blindlessly supporting Sanchez.
To say he's gonna miss out on reps now is silly because he's probably had 99% of the reps the last 3 years and that's equated to 55 TDs and 51 ints.

Also this idea that Tebow only won because of his defense is equally as silly.
Every QB that wins does so in some part because of their defense.
Again I'm not saying that Tebow's good or even decent but trying to marginalize his stats without applying that same logic to every QB is just plain inconsistent.

tebow threw 4 interceptions that led pretty directly in the bills putting up 40 points.

they do its called yards after catch or yac as you stated. marino and manning and brady have thrown bombs. you dont need to go back and look at it we all saw it with our own eyes.
there is a reason that every and i mean every football analyst, scout, coach, former player etc that is interviewed or asked about tebow all say the same thing. "he is a great kid and i wouldn't mind him marrying my daughter but he isn't an nfl qb" they all say that in some form or another. i have never once hears anyone who knows football every say he is a good qb or throws an nfl pass.

Wasn't saying he was impressive just that it was impressive that he somehow kept winning when I was close enough for him to pull it out

They weren't wrong for going after manning and Tebow
Just the absurdity of the snachize extension that happened in between

I agree you cant have it both ways. I also feel that not having it both ways means you give him credit for putting up over 300 yards and beating Pitt in the playoffs. Something that MIGHTILY fucking impressed me.
Personally I determine success by wins. In my eyes, right now hes a successful starting NFL QB. The problem is, if you dont start putting up some kind of numbers, eventually the league figures you out and youre not gonna put those wins up consistently. But right now hes a winner in my book.
As far as Sanchez goes, I think its tough to go to back to back AFC title games and he deserves some credit, but you do also have to look at what else the team had when he went. Funny enough that was my same argument with McNabb when everyone would throw his NFC Championship game appearances in my face when I said he wasnt that good.

Does he deserve the credit for them going to back to back AFC title games ?
He doesn't go anywhere near the 2nd one if the Colts kickoff team could cover a kick after taking the lead w/ under 2 minutes.
And I still don't see why coming in 4th place 2 years in a row should count for anything.
If he had lost 2 Super Bowls that's one thing but twice he failed to beat teams which in a way negates anything he did to that point.

It's not having it both ways, it's talking about separate games. You want to mother Marino's babies but you'd still admit he had poor games even while you're talking up how great you think he is. That's not having it both ways either.
