they looked scared during and after the 8th inning. this series is over a team like this does not come back from a complete all around team break down.
I said it to my cousin during the 2nd or 3rd inning that this team would regret not getting more out of the 1st inning. they played like they were in a rush to get the game over rather then play good baseball and continue to try to score.

It's hard to say that one game like that kills a team for a whole series, but it does happen. I'm remembering how the A's went in to the 1988 World Series heavily favored over the Dodgers, then Kirk Gibson hits that amazing home run, and the A's just looked utterly done the rest of the series, which ended in 5 games, if I remember correctly.

Lee going in game 3 sure shows you guys were right, series over. That on top of a nice win today again screams series over. I know that a team who won a series against the top seeded TB team without winning a game at home (ever for that matter) would surely lose all hope bc they lost game one...a game they almost signed off on until CC shit to bed again yesterday. It's as if nobody here pays attention in any fucking way. OVER!

I hope texas wins the series, I still think playing the yanks the next 3 in NY will be tough. Winning today made it a series and have Lee pitching gives them better chances but I still have a feeling that yankee luck/always getting the calls will come through in the end.

Hey, to be honest I have the yanks winning overall too. Yet claiming the series is over bc they lost the first game, a matchup on paper in the yank's favor, is just a little crazy in my mind. Series should be close, no matter how many games the series goes. I just hope Lee puts down Petite and AJ blows up and gives up like 5 in 2 innings (at least). However, don't rule out AJ putting together a good game at home with little expected out of him. I'd be more worried about CC and Hughes at this point. They were supposed to be the big 1-2 that held the team together. Without some late heroics in game one, both would have been tagged with the L's.
The only fucking person in this thread that proclaimed the series over was a Phillies fan. You're such a fucking retard.
Actually, I did too. I thought that if they couldn't hold a 5 run lead after 8 innings, they had no pitching depth to last a series.
I gladly stand corrected.

Snacks was also on that wagon, and it was addressed to those people, never directed specifically at mojo but he likes to changes the dialogue and make false points (as if I ever said it was him or someone it wasn't). Still, he made his amazing statement too. I guess everyone forgot how this Texas team just came back from 2 straight losses at home to TB and Oliver's role throughout the year. Then again, bmojo never gets to see any team unless they play ny and why pay attention to the eventual losers right? Yah, bench the guy with an appearance in a third of the Ranger's games this year with a 2.48 and a lefty specialist against the yanks bc he had some control issues and walked two guys on 3-2 counts. Yep, good call.

I cant see them paying him what the yanks will. first hes going to want 5-7 years at around $20 million per. That would be 1/4 of texas' payroll. 2nd Texas is still financially strapped/ 3rd he has been an avg pitcher at best when he pitches in Texas he wouldnt want to lessen his career by pitching there. and finally he would want to play for a contender year in and year out. the yanks and maybe boston are the only teams that do and can. Teams like texas have a 1 year run and if lucky they can get that 1 world series ring. then they are always fighting to get back to the playoffs but it usually doesnt happen because these teams cant keep talent.

NY is in better financial position and they do have the money, However will they be willing to give him 7 years? I can see possibly 5. Also he's going to be 33 next year while thats not over the hill 7 yrs seems like a bit much. He would be stupid to turn a 5 yr

Why don't the Yankees just get to have whomever they want!!! IT ISN'T FAIR THAT TEXAS IS ALLOWED TO WIN IN YANKEE STADIUM!!! WE ARE SUPPOSED TO WIN ALL THE TIME!!!! WAAAAHHHHHHHHH!

Assuming he doesn't get shelled in his next game and taken out before the end of the 1st, he is going to be asking for $20 million plus per. The funny thing is he will be over paid and the only team that can over pay someone and it wont kill then its the yanks. the yanks are the only team that makes a big free agent signing mistake and it doesnt kill them for 5 years. Burnet, Pavano, Giambi, Brown etc. When they make a mistake they throw even more money at it. If a team like Atl makes that mistake their done.
It really is sad and obviously baseball in general is hurting. Last nights ALCS was lower rated then that awful 2 small market team NFL game. Something is wrong when a leagues post season with 2 huge market teams are playing 1 of which is the greatest MLB team of all time in market one and they cant beat a shitty, no superstars (even chris johnson isnt one) teams on MNF? The Yankees will do what they always do. Tell Lee's agent to come to them when he gets his final offer from other teams and the Yankees will beat it. That's how they got Teixeira. I dont know if he was or wasn't. The whole steroid mess does bring up a lot of questions. Who knows maybe players took them many years ago???
From 55-60 Koufax couldnt find the strike zone. 61-66 won 3 Cy Youngs and was the most feared pitcher in baseball
Randy Johnson same situation before being sent to Seattle. Won a Cy Young there, Had a stellar 2nd half in 98 with the Astros. Signed with AZ and won 4 more.
Nolan Ryan pitched 27 years 7 no no's , over 5700K's and threw a no hitter after age 40
Its basically anyones guess.

i wont disagree with you. I believe that Hank aaron took them when he got to milwaukee and mysteriously starting hitting 40 HRs a year when he was 40 and had never done it before.
Shit, they have documented cases of steroid use as early as 1960 in the NFL. I wouldnt be surprised if the abscess on Micky Mantle's hip from that special shot he got doesnt tell you something about how the Mick hit balls so far back then.

If thats the case about Mantle he might have stopped taking them post 1964 That was his last really productive year. 65-68 His numbers went down drastically especially his BA. He once said that he should have retired after 64 he would have had a career .300 BA. 64 was also the last time the Yanks were contenders until 76

no one cares about steroids and no one ever did until the assholes like Bob Costas who created a much bigger issue of it. He couldnt handle that the players of his youth were going to lose their records. what he didnt understand was those same players he loved and respected also cheated or may have cheated back then. I hate Bob costas more then any sports guy out there. Jim Grey is a close 2nd. One day I would love to see Bonds or Clemens or any other player just knock his little midget ass out.

I cant believe 6 umps didnt catch that 2nd home run. thankfully there is reviews for that one. that just proves why there should be more reviews because even with 2 more umps these assholes cant get the call correct all on their own. these last 2 runs by texas was payback for that bullshit call.

here we go, i was waiting for someone to start on Arod. Yankee fans are all assholes plain and simple. (No offense Jim Beam I like you other wise but...
Arod was clutch all year. He had 120 plus rbis while only batting 270 because he got hits when they needed and when runners were on.
I love how yankee fans think its cool to shit on Arod. The guy is one of the 10 greatest players ever, is a big reason the yanks won a ring last year but lets jump on him as soon as this over rated over paid team blows up!
If not for one inning we'd be looking at the end of this series.

Actually I'm not a Yankee fan. I have no dog in the fight other than that I hate Rodriguez.
Sure his numbers were/are great and help the Yankees get where they are every year but there's a douchiness to him that I can't stomach.
Maybe it's because he's a shadey fuck.
My issue here is that he was obvioulsy showing his displeasure w/ Burnett and he's got nothing to say when he's batting .190 or so.
I'd be pissed if my favorite player did that to another guy.
And I loathe Burnett almost as much as Rodriguez.
