I've read several times that suspending a campaign, rather than ending it, allows the candidate to continue to accept money to pay off the organization's debts. Most of the long shot candidates are always running in the red since they don't have the contacts list to raise the big bucks before they officially declare.

Kill Medicare to dump funding into the DoD, still remain with an unbalanced budget. Wisconsin may be in play, but Florida and Ohio are strongly D. Systemic voter suppression may keep Pennsylvania in play but I don't think the state has the money to realistically stop democratic voters from voting.
