Exactly. Both are horrible, and he stretched himself beyond the vaguest idea of consistent thinking to grab hold of both.

Yet I'm afraid he's gonna get a pass on his cruel policies because he puts an attractive, polite face in front of them. The press corps eats that shit up.

correction, the whole stupid fucking world eats that shit up

He lost the nun vote, did you hear about the group that protests his (ryan) budget?

There was never any atheist aspects from his following of her. He wringed out every drop of fascismo.

There's a Mormon and a Catholic on the ticket not your religious right demographic. I will say that they will eventually vote Romney/Ryan because for a lot of them its anyone but Obama

Not too many nuns left in the country so that's irrelevant.

Fascism is alive and well in this country already.

This seems like the same mistake McCain made in 2008, though Ryan isn't as batshit crazy or as obviously a dumbass as Sarah Palin. But in both cases, it's an attempt to placate the extreme right wing of the party that was probably going to end up voting for you anyway with a candidate that alienates moderate voters.

This feels like 2008 all over again: again, we have a Republican candidate who's foundering and failing to win over anyone who isn't a right wing moron. My feeling is that the electoral map will look exactly the same as it did in 2012.

Whoever Romney would have picked there would have been backlash

Portman or Pawlenty 2 boring white guys who look like people from accounts receivable. Plus Pawlenty dropped out after the Iowa straw poll.

Rubio. Would have been criticism that Romney is just his-pandering. Plus there are questions about when his parents came to the US as they may have been here before Castro took over.

Christie. Fat jokes plus he would have diverted more attention from Romney and there's that tough guy Jersey in your face image he has.

While my vote is for Gary Johnson. Ryan is going to wipe the floor with Biden.

GOP Senate nominee: Women don’t get pregnant from ‘legitimate’ rapes

Rep. Todd Akin, the Republican Senate nominee in Missouri, claimed in a TV interview this weekend that women who are ‘legitimate’ victims of rape do not get pregnant because their bodies somehow prevent that from happening.

He claimed that women who are the victims of "legitimate rape" are unlikely to become pregnant. Akin said that the female body has "biological defenses" that prevent rape victims from getting pregnant. (That's not true.) The implication of his position is that if you were raped and became pregnant, you must have actually wanted it—it wasn't really rape.

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/2012/08/19/gop-senate-nominee-women-dont-get-pregnant-from-legitimate-rapes/

Todd Akin, Paul Ryan, and Redefining Rape

Last year, Akin, vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), and most of the House GOP co-sponsored a bill that would have narrowed the already-narrow exceptions to the laws banning federal funding for abortion—from all cases of rape to cases of "forcible rape."

http://www.motherjones.com/mojo/2012/08/todd-akin-paul-ryan-redefining-rape

Better to weed assholes like this out now rather than when they're in office.

Too many times it happens. Ted Kennedy, Larry Craig, Barney Frank and Jerry Studds for example.

You would think the right would distance themselfs from the six-term Missouri GOP congressman. However they still want to derail things so much with the majority that they kowtow to him by having him all over Fox news. (there goes my hero)

The GOP brass is disavowing him and many politicians have called for him to drop out of the race. The GOP senate election committee is planning to pull funds from Missouri.

Minn. Rep. Kerry Gauthier caught with zipper down... literally. Admits to having ‘no strings attached’ sex with 17-year-old boy at rest stop, police say (http://www.nydailynews.com/news/national/minn-rep-kerry-gauthier-caught-zipper-literally-admits-strings-attached-sex-17-year-old-boy-rest-stop-article-1.1140833#ixzz24CWr0ypn)

Someone should introduce Akin to one of the thousands of Tutsi women who were violently raped and forced to perform their own abortions.

Or the thousands of unwanted children in Rwanda whose mothers were raped during the civil war and genocide and then try telling him that forcible rape doesn’t lead to pregnancy.

Turns out Obama lied. What a surprise. He wasnt being truthful about the Stafford act and he was trying to throw red meat at the angry mob. At that time, the blacks still didnt consider him black enough, they were still for Hillary.

That speech saw the real Obama. Not some distinguished laureate trying to unite the country, and saying this isnt about red or blue states. Instead another race baiter whose true colors show up. Pun intended
