How are you Giants fans feeling about the Brandon Jacobs pick-up now?

Yeah, I know, another loss, it doesn't matter, but I was pretty impressed with him last night, and they damn near pulled that one out.

And it seemed the consensus among the NFL network reporters that Coughlin comes back for another year, unless they completely collapse and go winless (or only 1 or 2).

I want to see what happens if they bench Eli for the 4th quarter and bring in Nassib. Eli has had over half of his 15 INTs this year in the 4th quarter. They've lost a lot of games late when an INT nailed the coffin shut.

Can someone explain to me why on that last pick Mike Mayock was going on about how "that one wasnt Eli's fault"? He overthrew his TE by 5ft. Whose fault is it?

I think he later retracted that statement on the replay when he saw how high the receiver went up for the ball, and that it was still out of his reach.

Adrian Peterson's 2-year-old son is currently in critical condition in a South Dakota hospital ... after he was allegedly severely beaten by the man dating the mother of his child, TMZ has learned.

The Minnesota Vikings running back immediately left his team to be with his son.

Officials tell us they've arrested the suspect, 27-year-old Joseph Patterson ... who's been charged with aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant.

According to law enforcement, emergency responders arrived to the apartment where Peterson's son was living at 5:46 PM on Wednesday ... and found the child unresponsive.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital and medical experts determined the injuries were consistent with abuse.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... the child suffered severe head injuries.

I just saw John Clayton on ESPN say Peterson is back at practice at team headquarters and will address the media. He is expected to play sunday. (According to Claytons report). Look, i know hes probably barely in that kid's life if at all, and i'm sure there are probably a few more across the country. But if thats true, wow. Maybe the worst father ever.

People deal with grief in all kinds of way, and it doesn't surprise me if a guy who's made football the center of his life would deal with a trauma like this by just throwing himself back into football. I am willing to cut AP a shitload of slack here.

Was it Brett Favre that had a career game playing right after his dad passed on?

Yes. But a 58yo man dying of a heart attack is a bit different than a 2yo kid being beaten to death by a grown man....at this point its clear he wasnt in the secret kid's life. Which is more of what i have a problem with than whether or not he plays on Sunday.

They just won by 7 at home against the Ryan Fitzpatrick led Titans.

NOBODY is consistent with an O line like that...unless you mean being knocked down and rushed. Rivers has been there for years now, and only a good OC can adjust some to quick tosses, short drops, screen passes and the dreaded shovel pass! There are other freak plays that may not work in terms of THAT play, but set the stage for so much more to keep the pressure at bay and not only with the players, but coaches too.

KnoxHarrington
10-14-2013, 05:20 AM
I felt two moments of sports inevitability last night, both connected to Boston sports: when the Patriots got the ball back that 2nd time, I just knew that Brady would throw the TD, and then later, when Ortiz came to bat with the bases loaded, I knew we were about to see a grand slam.

I dont know, this guy is paying thousands of dollars buying shit for these guys and just taking it??? Something isnt right. I have a feeling its gonna be some kind of blackmail thing where they found out a big secret on this guy, maybe him being gay, and they used it to fuck with him.

The problem is if that is the case this isnt bullying....its blackmail. Theres a difference. But theyll never drop the bullying angle now.

It would be interesting to see more details of what kind of stuff he did. Reading his tweets that "defend" himself, he seems like a total ass.

Here's an example (which I've uncensored):

Transcripts of voice mail messages and text messages left for the Miami Dolphins' Jonathan Martin by teammate Richie Incognito indicate a pattern of racial epithets and profane language.

Multiple sources confirmed to ESPN that the following is a transcript of a voice message Incognito left for Martin in April 2013, a year after Martin was drafted:

"Hey, wassup, you half nigger piece of shit. I saw you on Twitter, you been training 10 weeks. [I want to] shit in your fucking mouth. [I'm going to] slap your fucking mouth. [I'm going to] slap your real mother across the face [laughter]. Fuck you, you're still a rookie. I'll kill you."

Does this sound like a guy who would respond positively to your proposed plan of attack?

On April 17, 2009, the Rams offered Incognito a one-year tender worth $1.01 million, which he signed on May 3.[12] Incognito started all nine games in which he played for the Rams in 2009. He was waived on December 15, two days after committing two 15-yard personal foul penalties and engaging in a verbal confrontation with Rams head coach Steve Spagnuolo during a 47–7 loss to the Tennessee Titans.[13] The two personal fouls led to a fine from the NFL and a letter from the NFL league office. He was fined $50,000 and told "Future infractions of the types you have committed may lead to increased disciplinary action up to and including suspension."[14] In four years with the Rams from 2006 to 2009, Incognito drew 38 penalties, including seven unnecessary roughness calls, more than any other player during that span.[10]

sounds to me like he LIVES for it

Funny you say that, because it appears Incognito's dad was on message boards blasting Jonathan Martin.

Early this morning, a poster with the username "idrd1994" left an impassioned defense of Incognito on the FinHeaven message board. In it, he attacked both Martin and Mike Pouncey as "black brothers that do drugs on a regular basis," and asked readers to "pray [GM Jeff] Ireland and [coach Joe] Philbin die of AIDS." He blasts the team from top to bottom, claims Incognito is getting railroaded, and uses the "black people say the N-word in rap music" argument to dismiss claims that Incognito sent racial messages to Martin. He also implies that Martin has pondered suicide, and "does not belong in an NFL locker room."

More on how they came to this conclusion in the article:

NFLPA IS NOT TOUCHING THIS WITH A TEN FOOT POLE. It will come out, Martin has tried to kill himself three previous times. The team is silent because they all know about it, from Ross on down to Ireland and Philbin. If anybody has seen the latest news the NFLPA has decided not to look into the case. Jonathan Martin has had mental issues since College, it will all come out int he wash gentleman, believe me.

so let me get this straight, mr. incognito (allegedly), the guy has mental troubles so you and your son think it's ok to harass and attack him about EVERYTHING forever?

and you think bc of it this will clear him, versus make him and you look like even MORE an asshole and worse?

Strange only coments are from Zuckerman and not Martin himself. Irleand and Philbin should be ashamed of themselves, this is a ****in joke. Suspend a pro bowl player for a player that does not even belong in the NFL. FUKIN JOKE its all going to come out in the wash and Ireland should be ****in hung because he , philbin and everyone else knew Martin did drugs and attempted suicide three times. But hey, the regular people will never hear that right ? ****IN JOKE FOLKS, ****IN JOKE.

I think my issue is ALL of Incognitos teammates pretty much took his side. And i honestly think 10 years ago this wouldve been a nonissue. But the media is SO consummed with this antibullying stance none of them will mention Martin needs to standup for himself. They had Charles Woodson on some show yesterday on NFL network, he pretty much said at some point as a man you need to say enough is enough.

I think that Dick Incognito (to borrow from the last Davey Mac Sports Program) should be run out of the league. But I fully understand your point here. The standard for behavior in the NFL, what is and isn't acceptable, just seems to be so arbitrary and constantly changing and inconsistent.

I think it almost comes down to what Woltz said in The Godfather: "A league in our position cannot be made to look ridiculous!" You're gonna get punished if you embarrass the league too much. They don't care about your actual behavior so much as they care about the perception of your behavior.

Some people just have a hood pass. My job takes me all over Hudson/Bergen county. But 90% of my time I'm in the shittiest parts of Jersey City. It actually gets depressing at times. And if i wasnt being paid for my time i wouldnt spend 5 minutes in these neighborhoods. But ive been there since im 19 so im used to it.

Meanwhile one of my sons friends parents asked for a ride to their soccer game today because PLAINFIELD is a bad area.

i think the biggest thing is, and this is what most people dont realize, its not even about what you say or do or whatever, its just how you carry yourself. Alot of white people act weird or different around black people, or act all weary when they are in the hood or something.

I think black people have an added respect for you if you are there and you act like you act everywhere else. Like its nothing different, just more people. That is where it usually comes from.

The great manning vs his younger fighting brother.

Started from 0-6 to make it to the SB in his home stadium.

It's starting to remind me of the AFC West a couple of seasons ago, when Seattle won the division with a 7-9 record.

That division is just putrid.

Yes they did. And I won $200 on a bet where I was getting 4-1 odds on them winning outright.

When did reaching the ball over the first down line become ok? I always remembered it being, that only worked with the goal line, and not a spot on the field.
