let there be no more turner and smith in SD!!!

and God said it was good

yet the team is awful...especially the OL

8-8 year giver or take a win or two

someone needs to do the pick five over under win expectations thread again and we all put up 20 bucks winner take all!

You get the top pick somehow..

Who you take, Clowney or Manziel? (If eligible)

Honestly I'd think about trading Rivers..

Chances are before you get to contending again, he will be on his way to the backside of his career.

I had never heard of him, before he came to the Skins. I thought it was weird that there wasn't much info on why he'd been away from the NFL for 3 years. It looks like it was pretty much his decision, after he got cut from Miami. He played the entire game the other day. He's not bad. I definately have more confidence in him than Grossman, at this point.

He was drafted to play baseball in 2004 but turned it down to go to college. After he was cut a few years ago he signed with the marlins, so I'd think that's where he was. And you live in va but never heard of him playing just next door?

Honestly I'd think about trading Rivers..

Chances are before you get to contending again, he will be on his way to the backside of his career.

flirting with .500 up or down won't even get us close to the first pick in the draft...at least if things go as I see them, yet losing multiple WRs and getting no OL help yet won't help. as for Rivers, he's plenty young enough, he just can't take the hits/sacks/hurries every year with this joke of a line.

thus far I am happy with the moves for this team, and their ability to cut ties with bad moves with Meacham despite the cap hit THIS year. the key is to take them now, early in the transition year. with any luck you put a little whipped cream on this dogshit and get the team to the playoffs for a little experience before taking the next steps in the coming years. they need to get some OL help, CB help in the next draft/free agency and find some semblance of a run game. at this point the line dictates it'll be spotty at best, but it would also help if mathews didn't get hurt thinking about making a block.

trading rivers now doesn't get you much of anything unless someone is enamored with him (Turner in Cleveland?). his value has never been lower bc of the shoddy line play filled with practice squad cast offs and worse. given time and a few good options Rivers can run a very good offense overall, but how much can anyone do behind a putrid line with no time and tossing balls to your starters Malcolm Floyd and Eddie Royal!? Ooof. Yah, last year's savior Meachem didn't even make the practice squad too...for what that's worth.

the best two receivers on this team are already Allen and Brown. both will be the biggest wideout threats for this team by at least midyear and both are still highly underrated. we'll see though

Worked with San Fran last year.

I'd say there is a HUGE difference in all three qb's mentioned, with Kaepernick being LIGHT years ahead of both of the others. Oh and let's remember, it didn't work bc SF didn't win and gave up the most points since Oakland all the way back to 2002. Dilfer's Balt D only gave up 7 and even Tebow can potentially win THAT game (needing 7 just to get to OT and 10 to win it all. HUGE difference bt 34 and 7 pts against.

First, all I said was they could be contenders, which SF was last year. Second I agree with what you said about the differences, with Kaepernick being way ahead. But I was talking about how they were winning with Alex Smith before Kaepernick even started playing. If you have a stellar running games and great defense, you dont need a world class QB to win. You need a decent one that doesnt make mistakes that kill you. Dilfer is like the craziest true example of that rule of course.

I think Rothlisbergers first Super Bowl win was an example of this too.
