what kind of coach does the Redskins need?

A hard ass that will not roll over with Snyder
A players coach
A young eager OC or DC without head coaching experience
A college head coach ready to make the leap

What ya think?

The Redskins need Dan Snyder not to be involved with football decisions.

You're fucked, buddy. No coach will help.

This isn't very surprising. They are currently the second most popular team. All three of their division opponents are very old teams with very loyal fans. The rest of the NFL is full of teams who have lost to Dallas in championship/playoff games. My guess is, if New England had as long of a history of success as Dallas has had, they'd be loved/hated on an equal level. I am surprised that Chicago is so high up on the list of hated teams.

I remember when Lil' Danny hired Shanny, there was all this talk about how this was a signal that he was going to back off trying to run the team himself. Obviously, that didn't happen, if the stories of Lil'Danny interfering in the whole RG3 debacle are true, but I have a feeling that in any case, he's going to come away from this thinking "I need to be the one running this team."

The Bengals beat the Chargers in San Diego, the Bengals are undefeated at home, it's eternally 70 degrees in San Diego, it's gonna be in the 30's and snowing in Cinci on Sunday, and you are calling a loss?
I say Spoon is driving a long way to drive home sad. Bengals advance, this round, ultimately the Super Bowl will be Seattle v Denver.

A few things…Cincy hasn't won a playoff game in a quarter century, Dalton is throwing picks like Eli this year and SD is one of the hottest teams coming into the playoffs. Before you say they hardly beat KC's second team at home, recall we beat the first team on the road earlier. Tie in the fact that SD has one of, if not the best record against playoff teams, 4-2 against (KC 2-0/Denver 1-1 and Indy 1-0…many on the road). Heck, the only other loss to a playoff team WAS cincy as you stated, but only by one score and SD turned it over THREE times in or right outside the red zone. Two fumbles by Gates, so not the norm. SD has won recently in cold and harsh away stadiums with KC AND Denver and come into the game winners of 5 of their last 6.

Do I think it's a clear advantage to play in a rainy/snowy cold home stadium for Cincy, sure but not nearly as much as some make it out to be. Dalton relies HEAVILY on his wrs to go up and get balls on iffy to poor throws. This weather will surely impact him as much, if not more than the VERY efficient and stellar Rivers under McCoy. Also, for all the noise I hear of how the Bengals can run the ball, they rank well behind SD there, 13th vs 18th and SD ranks 5th overall vs 10th for the bengals.

It's the D where I worry the most, as SD may have some advantage on O, Cincy has it more on D. If SD doesn't win the turnover battle, it might be over. Cincy is very solid on d, but still slipping after losing a few HUGE starters.

My actual hope is the weather will actually be the equalizer on D making it tough on both teams and neutralizing their biggest edge overall. Cincy ranks 10th worst with fumbles vs SD 20th and Cincy (Dalton) 7th most ints vs SD (Rivers) 24th. That's huge for me, especially seeing what Dalton did last week.

I also have to say Ingram back and finally starting and hitting his stride is HUGE. The biggest X factor in this game to be honest. If he can bring what I think he can, it will be an amazing thing for SD's D they've been missing all year. Oh and you guys are going to love Allen and Ladarius Green on O. I'm sure Gates will be the cagey vet and Woodhead will be his normal swiss army knife self, but Allen and green are matchup nightmares…like AJ Green and Bernard…man, should be a fun game!

Leaving tomorrow morning…and remember, my dad is a Cincy fan and it was his present BEFORE they were playing my team. Bottom line it was never about my team, but I'll sure as shit be raising hell in the jungle!!

Cant complain about the Eagles game. They played their hearts out. Just couldnt get it done. At least Im not frustrated. I expected them to go 4-12 this year. Next year well have Maclin back, draft a safety or 2, get some d-linemen and a fullback, and hopefully replace our kicker. The future looks bright.

By the way, I couldnt have written that KC - Indy game any better than it played out. Everyone that was asking if we missed Andy Reid when they were 9-0 didnt believe me when I said NO. This is why. Hell rack up those regular season wins, but the playoffs are a different game. If his gameplan starts to falter the man cant adapt. Plus watching him call his final timeout, directly after the two minute warning, was as vintage Andy Reid as it gets.

There's no way Lovie goes to DC. And I don't see him as a recycle. At some point it's time to move on and it was that time for Lovie. But he still went 10-6 his final year and took a team with Rex Grossman to the Super Bowl. I hope he doesn't get the Detroit job.

If I owned the Lions I'd hire Lovie to be the head coach, hire Norv to OC and win multiple Super Bowls.

Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk (http://tapatalk.com/m?id=1)

no way on Lovie, Norv even annoys me as an OC of late in Clev as he just tosses it deep down the field on way too many plays, with lesser guys like Campbell behind center. Sure, get guys like Gordon involved, but man that O wasn't pretty at times and they made zero adjustments to the three different qbs. The style lined up best for Hoyer, but man, more change there and way too soon for an HC change. don't agree

and lovie will NEVER win a Super Bowl unless he inherits a great team like Shanny with Elway, Davis and the steroid filled D they had at the time.

I have to revisit Lovie on this one, as after hearing all the stats, tie ins and what's needed, I truly do not hate the signing for TB. You helped change my mind on this one rit.

SD has the worst odds to win the SB…no shit, at 40-1.

Yet the good news is they have a chance to make me even more ecstatic with an upset win over Cincy (Dad's team), then Denver (hate them and fuck Peyton in his horse face) and then ? Let's be honest though, just nice to make the tourney for the first time in almost half a decade.

Still, I may put some money down on them JUST in case bc they were/are MUCH better than the respect they get (TONS of tight/close games) and many wins against AFC teams in the playoffs.

Lost to Cincy by 7 earlier in the year…so it's not like they owned us, best KC's first team earlier in the year and now their second team too (2-0 vs KC), 1-1 versus Denver and beat them in Denver by 7/lost by 8 at home and beat up Indy in Indy holding them to only 3 fgs. Didn't play the Pats, but 4-2 versus all the rest and both losses one score games. Surely not terrible odds as if they have no place there. Odds aren't the best clearly, but not as bad as LV has them.

Round II Either I get another huge win I hoped for, as knocking Peyton out AGAIN would be amazing…or a case of be careful what you wish for? Either way, awesome season and playing with house money is the best! Ultimate wish is to win a Super Bowl of course, but with our next great LB (Ingram) having the use of both arms unlike Seau last time.

While I agree with you after seeing it in slow-mo, it definitely looked like he was targeting his head in full speed. The refs are just put in a bind with this stuff. Either they call it and be safe, or they don't call it and get "downgraded" and miss the playoff pay.

If they were all paid the (basically) same salary for a full year and weren't still part time employees, maybe we'd have better officiating. But the NFL still wants to treat them like part time, contract workers.

I disagree…hit that first fg, then actually KICK the second one and it's 13-6 at half AT WORST…and let's remember the Hawks got a TD on the field position after NO went for it on fourth down, and got the opening FG on that 15 yard pen shown above. This game should have been MUCH closer. Wilson couldn't do much of anything last night, and Ryan's D gave the Saints a shot.

I'm a homer, so I had faith in this team, but yeah, it's fucking crazy that they're in the Championship game.

Even their #1 rookie WR was OUT for the last game. Their top runner was a guy that TB was about to release, but traded for a 7th round pick.

There's always a Manning v Brady debate, and Manning is one of the best QB of all time, but Brady continually is doing it with very little. It's nuts. All the main starters from their defense are missing, too. Talib just got healthy again, but Wilfork & Mayo are both gone.

He's looking to get paid out after getting fired two years in.

Why would you pick TN over the current Lions team?

Eric Decker singlehandedly blew the -8.5 pt cover for me. I hope his wife thinks about Tom Brady when they fuck.
yeah...his hands were uncharacteristically buttery

:furious:

As soon as it was obvious that SD was going for the onside, I said guaranteed someone on the receiving side will jump in the air to catch it and fuck it up, thus turning it over.

That got me to thinking. What is the rule on deliberately knocking the ball out of bounds on this play? I mean if you retain possession, why risk the ball being turned over? Just knock the fucker high and wide out of bounds.

If this is true its like that time out in NBA you get the ball at half court.

still risky, being many times you are far from said sidelines, there are usually many people in the path…all trying to get the ball and of course it's a football and doesn't spike like a volleyball.

And we got into a huge debate bc I said that's it's incorrect bc eagles know what a super bowl is bc they went to 2 but lost and he said I'm being too literal bc it's implied

I said that only works with teams like browns and lions who have never been

Holy shit did the 49ers get fucked. It's not even a judgment call: if you hit the punter in the plant leg, that's roughing, that's 15 yards, that's an automatic first down. I don't know if the 49ers could have scored had they kept the ball, but at least the Seahawks would have started from much worse field position.

Im honestly not sure whether its Kraft not resigning guys OR Belicheck having a god complex that he can make anyone a superstar in the league.

Im not a Pats fan, i just thought the disregarding of Randy Moss a few years ago was alarming. Same with Welker. And i dont ever want to hear Amendola is the "poor mans wes welker" hes garbage. Edelman is a better WR

Cheap owner?

Last offseason, the Patriots were stacked. They paid serious cash to Hernandez and Gronk to be cornerstones of their offense. Every star, except Brady, got hurt on the team. It's just football. They had a breakout game from the RB of the future, and then he missed the next 6 weeks with a broken wrist.
