HA. Sadly, that isnt what it is. 3 or 4 years ago they were like 3 points out of champs league spot but kept winning stupid cup matches and had been in euro league that year and they ran outta gas the last 3 weeks and finished out of europe all together by 1 point.

So, when i get a sense that they arent playing well enough to win the cup even if they advance that round, i would rather see them not advance and get to rest and be fresh when they play the top 4 teams who all had to play europe and cup matches every week when everton didnt

So somehow i got into looking at season ticket pricing and stumbled across an article on Bayern Munich. Bundesliga the supporters own 50%+1 of the team to keep pricing down which i think is cool. Then i read a SEASON TICKET costs between 104-500pounds depending on the seats. Thats fucking nuts. Compare that to those crooks in the NFL and their bullshit PSLs its nice to see leagues doing something right.

Its hard to do this because everything works differently. First of all, soccer doesnt do that shit like we do. When they sell tickets for a game, x amount of that money goes to the league. X amount goes to the team you are playing again, and then you get the rest. The league is responsible for selling the TV rights for national games AND for the teams games. So the breakdowns work different.

Mainly though, the comparison of games played doesn't matter. There are mitigating factors, like most football stadiums being WAY bigger than most soccer stadiums. Also, in the NFL, the league gives you enough money to pretty much cover all your costs before you have to even do anything. Its all about TV. Those greedy fucks in the NFL make so much money off TV above what other leagues make, everything else should be like minor league baseball prices. They charge a ton cause they are so popular they can and people will pay it. But its SO dick.

And the other main difference is, teams in the US are franchises. They are owned businesses out to make a profit with an owner who hires executives to run the franchise.
In Soccer, they are clubs. They have shareholders, elected boards of directors. Alot of times, fans or fan clubs own parts of the team and have a member on the board. Its almost impossible to compare the models of US sports vs the rest of the world cause of that.

yea, again cause teams here are corporations and thats their job. Over there, its a club, and alot of times the people paying for those tickets are having, at least to a point, some say in the prices of said tickets. Its a much better system, however at times it leads to Clubs doing things cause their supporters want it, not always cause they think its the best move for the team. As opposed to say Woody Johnson doing something cause he thinks he will make more money as opposed to what is good for the team.
