Bedard, Lowen, And Maine, would have made a pretty good young 1.2.3 for Balt..

Crap. I just saw this. Valentine I knew about but this is the first I saw about El Duque.
Orlando Hernandez and Jose Valentin returned to New York this afternoon to be examined by team physicians.
Hernandez, scheduled to start tomorrow against Florida, complained of tightness in the shoulder this morning.
The Mets have not made a decision on tomorrow’s starter.
“He felt something in his shoulder,’’ general manager Omar Minaya said. “We have to get it checked out.’’
Valentin felt discomfort in his right knee and left Saturday night’s game in the fourth inning. He seemed hopeful the injury isn’t serious. Should Valentin go on the DL, Anderson Hernandez is most likely to be called up.
BeerBandit
04-30-2007, 03:53 AM
Wright and Delgado seriously need to come out of their respective funks. With as dependable as Valentin has been, Easley or Hernandez in that lineup is going to gum things up. Unless Easley can continue to make the most of his chances, that is.
Oh, and uh, John Maine for Cy Young.
BeerBandit
04-30-2007, 07:48 AM
So is El Duque pitching tonight? I know he's getting tests done but I still haven't heard that he's been scratched, or that Pelfrey (or any other schlub) is stepping in.

john maine has been fucking unbelievable. 4-0 1.35. i've been saying it for a few months that he has no hit stuff. i'd like to see him be the first met to pitch one. but i can't expect him to keep up this pace. god bless anna benson and her delicious tits.
wright and delgado have really looked like shit so far. i'm hoping that hr derby last year hasnt fucked with wrights head. he hit like 6 after the break last year and 0 this year.
hopefully we can outslug florida tonight...doubt it'll be much of a pitchers duel.
a win makes it 4-2 for the week and I am not satisfied
The Rocks and Nats, we should have gone 5-1 this week

That could have easily been a Nats sweep this weekend, if not for some bumbling Saturday night, and 3 bad bunts Sunday. Congratulations, but hopefully the Nationals will continue to make it difficult all season.

I just feel like, everything would be right in the world, if Bonds was chasing a Shawn Green fist shot to short Left Field and his knee buckled. As if one shattered leg joint could bring peace to the Middle East, solve the world's energy crisis, and produce the long sought after AIDS vaccine.
But that's not going to happen, is it?

I would actually love to see Beltran hit second and Wright hit 3rd. Wright just seems like the prototypical no. 3 guy. Hits to all fields, takes advantage of mistakes, hits for power and average. Althought Beltran has thrived in the 3 hole, as he is just as adequate a 3 guy as Wright, he's the closest thing to a no. 2 guy on this team. Lo Duca's just to damn slow and should probably be batting 7th.

Not too shabby Mr. Minaya!
