Obama got a post convention bump, and it looks like the election will be decided by about 7 or 8 states as bad as a president Obama has been. Romney just can't explain how he would be able to elaborate his plans. It still is going to be a close one. I dont think it will be Bush v Gore however It wont be a shock if on election night there still isnt a winner.

Its a shame that both parties wont allow Gary Johnson to debate.

From what I saw recently he still wasn't invited at the debates. I think both parties probably strong armed the federal election committee and are afraid that Johnson would call out Obama and Romney especially on the patriot act, NDAA, TSA and foreign policy issues of endless wars.

If you have more than 10% votes in the last election, you are automatically in the next debate they said on some show i was watching. Aside from that, there is no set requirement, however if you are over 10% in polls they have always invited you. But they still dont have to I dont think. You should really read "Better than Sex" by Hunter S Thompson. Its a great chronicle of the 1992 election and a good read. Bet you could find a copy for $10 or less on Amazon.

After the session, Drinkard said that there wasn’t an actual numerical quota on Bachmann at the AP. That was pretty much the conclusion of the debate analysis on CNN and MSNBC too. On substance Biden and Ryan were equal but on style Ryan won.

I've always thought Biden would be a much better President with Obama as Undersecretary of Golf or something. But, ultimately, Vice-Presidents have no real power. Voters will make their decision based on the top of the ticket (although how anyone can still be undecided by this point is beyond me).

Last night was just to rev up each candidates respective bases. It was not a game changer. Biden showed that he was not a great foreign policy guy and Ryan didn't show good stats and figures wonkiness.

VP debates are a waste of time. A VP's main duties are to break ties in the Senate and to go to funerals of foreign heads of state.

Anyway, IMO, the two things Ryan got owned on were

1) Criticizing the stimulus when Biden countered w/ the letters Ryan sent asking for stimulus money (praising green jobs)

2) The whole Afghanistan discussion regarding the East, where Ryan got incredibly tripped up and said we should be sending american soldiers rather than afghan soldiers to the most dangerous areas.
