Hi Berry,

Caramelizing onions IS really easy! Just slice your onions into medium thick slices then add to your saute pan along with butter, olive oil or a combination of both, which is what I usually do. A tablespoon of each will be plenty for two onions, esp. if you use a non-stick pan.

I start with the heat at medium high then when the onions are starting to wilt (they will be starting to look see through) I lower the heat and let them cook down until they are a golden brown shade and that does take about 45 minutes. I usually add the brown sugar when I lower the heat, but you can probably do that in the beginning as well.

You will know if you need to add more liquid if they start to char or the pan looks very dry. But the onions give off their own liquid so that probably won't be a problem.

Your caramelized onions will be delicious! Try them on home made pizza as well as in the marinara. Good luck!

He was banned for a week. He has repeatedly tried to get around the ban, despite being warned by another mod. It's a little annoying to go "hey look. There's spoon again. Time to ban him again." Pretty ineffective. I would like nothing more than to not IP ban anyone. Hell, I would rather not ban anyone. If spoon will agree to stop posting until his ban is up, I have no problem lifting the IP ban.

i agree and this is true, but if he's like myself and most people I know, we get more upset when a friend or loved one is seemingly "wronged" than when we are "wronged", not excusing just saying that's human nature.
