it's completely divisive, compromise is an ugly word and the tea party looks at any as a failure despite the ramifications to the country as a whole and everyone in it...much less the bullshit tax pledge signed by most of the party overall which all but immediately kills most talks at square one

I'm sorry, I have no problem with cuts, tied to better tax policy and the end to the W tax cuts, but military spending, waste and entitlements have to be controlled as a package to really have an effect on this overall problem. So both sides have to bend and both have to do something that isn't in their nature overall.

In the end it's a win win, just as funding clean energy helps clean our shit hole of a planet/country, despite any fucking idiotic take on climate change either way. Consider it an added benefit of appeasing the green nuts and scientists who actually have credibility and aren't linked to oil industry funds.

They don't go to DC with the philosophy of being public servants, they go there just to get their name on some overreaching bills they create then they exempt themselves from them.


Nothing is going to be cut. Boehner is a fool. Accepting a promise to cut or agreeing to terms that the rate of spending won't go up as much is a fools errand. A cut in spending is taking an axe to the budget. Last year the feds spent around 3.7 trillion. A cut is if they spend 2.8 trillion.
