Gene Wilder is just such a good actor and has such perfect comedic timing that I think they'll always be funny if just for him alone. I also don't think it's any coincidence that YF was largely co-written by Wilder and Pryor wrote so much of BS.

The rest of Brooks' films? Yeah, not so much. The original Producers I still like, but again, pretty much due to Wilder.

I think we've had a great last 4 or 5 years of comedies. It's just no one can appreciate something for what it is anymore, especially comedy, so they think its not as good as it used to be.
