Wow! So much is new man. Spend some time up at my property working on tree clean up amongst other things. Came back spent a few evenings with a lady only to have her son cause a ton of problems real early (1 am) this morning so I left and have not looked back. We were all kicking back watching a movie and the kis went into some psychotic episode. Had to go to the VA today for my medicines, why does everyone wait until after the holidays because it was hell. Why did I have to pull a dumb ass and run out. Now I have to go back on Thursday for my psych follow up. My blood pressure (being at the hospital raises it) will be doing the roller coaster this week, :(

I think I am doing something wrong with my google alerts, I have a few for O&A, R&F, Ron Bennintgon, Fez Whatley and I get really stupid alerts... a lot of the torrents out there, sometimes really really old threads on message boards and one of the weirdest was just in the other day; I got a google alert for Gaz's avatar

I have not worked a full day since 10/24/08. My surgery was Halloween. I went back to work on 12/1 for a few hours and my Dr faxed the return to work with restrictions. My manager said I can't be there with restrictions because it's a liability. I'm usually on my feet the whole shift and periods of resting my leg is not acceptable. My manager had me call my Dr. to change my fax and I was in a lot of pain and leg was swollen after a few hours, so I left. I called her and told her that I thought it was a liability to make me have my Dr. change the original restrictions and was in shock she would make me do so. I now am unemployed and got no $$ and am hurting financially. The incision is healed, just the skin is sore and my hip hurts when it's cold and raining/snowing. The muscle is still hard, but I do my exercises at home and getting better. Sorry for the long story..:down:

You should sue them for making you change the papers and causing you damage and pain. I bet you can file for unemployment anyway. I would fight them on it.

I know I should, but I don't want to hurt my possibilities of getting hired anywhere else. My field is very small...everyone in all the hospitals knows someone else and I'm scared to go that route. I got as far as filling out the unemployment form on line, but I need to call to file it said. I have yet to do this as I've been searching for jobs and will get more $ working than not. UPDATE!!! I just got a call for a part time job an hour from here. I have an interview tomorrow am!!!

I have to say that this sort of falls under the whistle blower act, it's sad that due to job markets and all companies get away with making their employees suffer and then get rid of them. IT really dampens the work morale at that job, for all others as well.

Good luck on the part time job, I would still file for unemployment, with an hour commute and the cost for that and only part time pay you may be better off staying home a while longer on unemployment and getting better while looking for a full time job closer by.

I was just shy of the 2 month mark for short term disability, but my union got me 171.00 a week from 11/1-12/1. I told them I voluntarily left because of the restriction issue and they said I might still be able to collect, but I got no health insurance to get back to my specialist. He is an orthopedic oncologist and there are only 150 in the whole USA!! I'm due back to see him next month and am applying for medicaid next week. The restriction for periods of rest was for a month from 12/1. I'm still hurting though. If I'm traveling 2 hours a day for work, I prefer to work part time...all the jobs I've had in the past almost 2 years have been an hour away and there is nothing here-I hate commuting, but maybe less hours is the way to go..All the jobs were full time and the 2 hr commute which was too much for me. Who knows maybe I'll go back to school for something else if I get a set schedule. I gotta run and get some groceries in the house..I'll come back later today:bye:

miserable. im moved in at the new place but IT are dragging their asses on granting internet access. since plant operations fucked up the chart storage system, all the charts are still packed up in their boxes and we cant get to them to do our work. we said charts, they heard files and got file cabinets when we need shelves (like before). then fiscal seems to think that all the doc and nurse do is give shots because they didnt deem it necessary to give them an office or even desks to fill out appropriate paper work. fiscal also thought it aesthetically pleasing while being cost effective to have the medical cabinets WITHOUT LOCKS. i guess they thought we could leave rx medication and syringes out for anyone's convenience even tho we work with former and current drug abusers. it is also state law that these cabinets have locks. but thats just the stuff that happened yesterday and today.
