It's not true. Earlier presidents (especially in the 19th Century) and many others in all of American history (since apparently he wasn't limiting this to presidents) have taken more vacation. It's a non sequitur anyway; it has nothing to do with the president taking a vacation in the Florida Keys.

It's because it's nearly impossible for someone to defend their false outrage. Obama is a rich person, rich people can go on weekend getaways with their families pretty easily whether they are a spoiled socialite, president of a corporation or president of the country. This is not a big deal. It's not like some emergency will happen and they'll have to wait until Monday because Obama has his Out of Office email set. This is stupid.

Where the real crisis would have been was if war broke out between Russia and Ukraine. I think Obama is not willing to intervene with Crimea, but wanted to send a message that Ukraine is a sovereign nation that the U.S. would support should war break out. I think the symbolic gesture to Ukraine was the right one.
