I bought a bike off of Craigslist last year that was kindof a compromise, and then like 2 months later the bike I was more looking for came up so I bought it too figuring I would just sell the first one. Well, it turns out that the same guy sold me both bikes, this well off lawyer in his early 50s.

So the first time he tells me how he bought the bike for his wife (who must be one gigantic bitch because it's a bike for someone around 6ft tall, which is the first lie) and she never road it so he's selling it. The second one he told me he decided to clear out his old stuff and upgrade to a more modern bike. So I say "Well, are you selling anything else? I should just look while I'm here Ha Ha" playing off the coincidence that I am now buying a second bike from him, and he says No No this is the last one.

But it isn't the last one, he keeps selling bikes, I know the town he lists them in and I recognize his garage, plus he writes his ads in a recognizable way. Just today, he's listing another bike, a bike I would be tempted to go look at if I didn't already have too many bikes. What confuses me is why the hell would he lie?

Either he's a hobyist who in his spare time buys then overhalls bikes to sell, but he either has some amazing source for cheap, good vintage bikes or has no interest in making any money at all from it because he sells everything very reasonably, or he just has bought many bikes over the years kept them all in really good shape even though he couldn't possibly be riding them all. So maybe he was embarassed about owning all these bikes, or he doesn't want to be identified as a hobyist bike flipper because there is this really shitty, irrational backlash against people who sell frequently on CL. I dont get it.

Actually I was wondering if he's involved in some sort of bike theft operation, like in Menace II Society (with cars) because there's so much bike theft in Philly. But most of those bikes are grabbed by crack heads and sold to pawn shops, and he couldn't sell stolen bikes on Craigslist without getting called out.

Unless someone grabs them down in Baltimore or something and drives them up here.

Ibeen off blow since i graduated. bout 5 months. Still havent' found a job with my 4year degree, well the problem is im not looking to hard. I am strugglying with instense anxiety every day its just fucking debilitating(maybe xtopping cold trueky in jan is added to it some expertas said it like post accute withdrawl systems. I was diagnosed with social anxiety a long time ago(8th grade) but the pills i tried then, were fucking lamo, ssri that just amde me feel weird and stopping those are a nightmare. The only think that makes me feel like a person with no stress is taking xanax/benzos but I cant take those without going on a blow beige.

The feeling i feel everyday since i graduated uni still hasn;t gone away, and its been to long. I need to get ride of this self pity but the anxiety is just to much. Imagine just barely avoiding a car crash, you know that feeling you get, i got that shit 24 hours a day.
Not having something to do everyday like a job is just killing me i feel like a piece of shit.

I just wanted to share no need to respond.

What you are missing is commitment. Hell, every one of us is addicted to things but the true master of his life controls his vices by commitment. Time to grow up and become committed to what you want in life. A job, not doing blow, being able to handle social situations all require the true type of desire and committment to get the job done. Quit feeling hopeless or controlled by these vices and problems. Have a true talk to yourself and commit to what you desire. Once you do, stick to it and next you know comes motivation. Empower yourself and feed off that power that is committment. I speak from experience on many issues that I have failed on so many times until I totally, truly committed my self to the goal I was after. If I can do it - so can you.

It works if you can buy into it. I once decided to quit smoking and lived by 2 rules. Do not buy any and do not bum any. It worked, I havent smoked since 1994. Point is set rules for yourself and commit to want you want in life because life dont owe you shit, you have to go out there and get it. I'd rather be a strong person that can control my life rather than someone who cant. The choice is yours. That is all..... good luck!

ive done blow once in 6 months an thats today, i guess i got to face the facts my parents were just to nice to me (only child). They payed for my college, my rent when i lived in como, my insurance my fucking everything. (i acutally worked in HS and college)

but now im back home its like im living the fucking life. anything you could want i got huge plasma, dvr, superfast net, sweet car. pay for my cell, car insurance. i got no debt and 30k saved up in investments but im to lazy to be a man i guess. I feel terrible saying this but other then a girl and material things, its hard for me to leave this wonderland. Not to mention my parents are gone all day every weekday,.

I am in a rut and I am truly afraid I might never break out, the sad thing is i dont know if i want to atm. My parents are giving me a break and not pushing to hard cause i came clean about the drug thing in Jan 11, but i could only play that card for so long and his string is about to break.

Life sucks for me right now, and unless this keeps up i going to be some 40 year old living in my parents basement.

I think it's good that you don't want to be 40 and living in your parents basement. But don't be too hard on yourself. It's a tough world out there now and temptations are there and being in a rut makes these temptations more appealing. But you'll come out of this alright, I'm sure of it.

I think it's positive that you know that you have good things around you. You will, in time, get a job. And while it does make sense about almost not wanting all the support you've received from your parents, I doubt you would have all these positive realizations if you experienced "tougher" love.

I always get annoyed when someone implies something like the above statement, that because it is unlikely the BBC will ever replay a contentious interview between a West Indian writer and a possibly conservative news correspondent that it's some kind of conspiracy. Why would they ever replay it, it was a live segment during breaking news, do they ever replay that shit? As if you can bury video these days, with the way the internet is.

Further, people always make assumptions, it's the worst kind of xenophobia. We dont know what kind of show this is and what kind of reputation it has, or if she's just playing devils advocate or hoping he'll expound on his experiences in 'riots' while trying to keep him on track and not meandering off into political idealogy.

It is, bottom line, never a good idea to ask someone who is in an extra excited state how they feel about something as part of the news. It's not intelligent and it encourages the worst aspects of human nature, then presents them in an over legitimized context.

The people passing around this video are the same people who say they only watch BBC because you cant get real news in America, also have no idea what austerity measures are or that there was a similar economic climate in England in the 80s that turned out similarly.

They said, if I can't prove it, I'll have to give them $50 to make it go away. I KNOW I had insurance. One second I'm going to work and going out with friends and having no limitations and I wake up and now I've got limits. And the wonderful pills they put me on to "fix" these symptoms of fatigue, pain, shaking and other fun things actually can cause the same symptoms as well as mood swings and depressing. Fuck, I've never gotten depressed from meds before. This really sucks.

It's ok. I was taking a heavy does of prednisone to help make the weakness and limping on my right side better. I finished the prescription a few days ago and all of a sudden bam. I'm limping again and incredibly weak on my right side. It makes sense. I'm almost at ten years since I was diagnosed and this is usually when it turns into a slightly worse condition. Just funny how I was doing so well and then bam.

I believe you're right. I would say that the thought of getting laid hasn't been on my mind the last couple weeks, but that's not true. It's just in a less animalistic sense, if that makes any sense at all.

But, fucking fuck fuck fuck. I hate gabapentin. Why is it that every fucking medicine I take to get better makes me feel worse? The problems I already have are the side effects, and the awful feelings I've been having just because I feel sick and very much a burden are just doubled by the pills that are supposed to make the pain go away. Gabapentin, prednisone, lyrica, the rest, what the fuck.

I went to the liquor store yesterday. They had a guy working there that was missing a leg. He had a wheelchair for when he wanted to sit down. But when he rings you up, he props his ACE bandage wrapped stump on the counter so he can stand. I'm usually OK when dealing with people with deformities. But this guy was also freakishly tall. I wasn't sure if I should awkwardly look way up to make eye contact, or look down toward the cash register that his stump was pressed against. :huh:
