I work for DYFS. I have spanked my child, when necessary. The problem comes in when the schools try to find a reason for a bruise that comes from them simply falling off their bike. The entire system(at least in Jersey) is completely absurd and doesn't serve the purpose it was intended for.

It didn't have anything important on it. I just thought it was pretty cool. Two key things... It didn't go through the dryer, and it totally air dried before I plugged it in. I read one time, that a good way to clean a keyboard is to run it through the dishwasher without the dryer on. I guess it's pretty much the same concept.

I've had a lot of self taught experience with fixing desktop problems over the years, and I'm just now starting to learn some laptop stuff. A friend has a Dell laptop that had the screen go black. I had no clue what the cause or fix would be.

With the help from Google, I found that this particular model has a history of having a bad "inverter". I had no idea what an inverter was, but the message boards I found convinced me it was an easy fix. I got a used inverter for her from eBay for $20. It arrived today.

Then I realized I still have no idea what an inverter is, or even where the hell it goes! Back to Google. Found a site with step by step instructions (with photos). Fifteen minutes of trying to figure it out (since the one on the website was a different laptop), and trying not to lose all the very tiny screws, and...

Perfectly working laptop!!!:clap:

I now know something new, and made a lovely lady very happy.
