I've only been there once. That one time was a somewhat positive experience. Cincinnati airport had a smoking lounge, and cheap food. Other than that, I can never pick an Ohio team to either win or lose. Oh... And I was totally POSITIVE they'd win the Super Bowl in '81. I do, however, appreciate Cleveland for sending Earnest Byner to Washington. That worked out pretty well.

I dont like it when people anthropomorphize (probably a more appropriate word I'm not thinking of) babies.

The two big ones are sexually "Oh he's such a flirt, look at him flirt." or "Oh I think you're 8 month old has a little crush on my 9 month old because we put them on the floor near eachother and then took a picture of it."

Or sports wise. RE: you've put your baby in a onesie of a sports team you like and then posted about how they're rooting for the Baltimore Ravens, or one of your twins is in an Eagles bib and the other one is in a Cowboys bib and you comment "oh no, they'll never get along!"

I've never seen 500 days of summer, I'm pretty sure I'd hate it. Anyway I went to listen to a song that turns out is on the sound track and that made me read the wikipedia for the sake of derision.

So, Joseph Gordon Levitt is trained as an architect but works at a greeting card company. Like thats his consolation prize, the job he gets easily with presumably no experience because he cant hack it as an architect. I'll bet writing greeting cards is a way harder job to get than architect because there are way less greeting card companies and way more people with liberal arts degrees who will justify that they are qualified.

Then, at the end, he starts applying for architect jobs. Like oh boy thats the only reason I didn't become an architect, I didn't apply for the jobs and get my foot in the door. What fucking world do these writers live in? Get off your asses, over educated americans, did you ever think of applying for those jobs you cant get?

The cuteness of 500 days of summer is a turn off. The vapidness.

Juno I thought the dialogue was a bit much. Very affected. But Juno bugs me for how toothless and commercial they have to make it. Oh isn't this exactly the type of girl that gets pregnant in high school. I get it, but its a little insulting.

Its the perfect metaphor to have Ellen Page resing the line 'we sure are cute for two ugly people' because this is who really does that song.

I dont like Bruce Springsteen and I'm pretty fatigued by 'lyrically dense punk' bands. Sometimes the references really come off as just throwing out catch phrases for people to yell 'whooo' at.

My relationship with music always begins impressionistically. So story telling and heavy craft dont appeal to me. And my experience in punk, what I always thought of as the filter that turns this into that, is a reaction against classic rock. That and DIY. So its a little spoiled for me.

It doesnt hurt. But I like music that has production value, and vocal clarity, and lyrical story telling too, but I'm not won over purely by virtuosity. I just specifically dislike classic rock so a punk band that says 'we're the classic rock punk band' I'm not going to enjoy because I already dont like the foundation it's built on.

The Discover card commercial with the twin sisters talking on the phone confuses me. The one should see that it's her sister when she looks up the card information. Unless they are some how estranged which also doesn't make sense because they seem to have a very cheery relationship and speak of their common phrases as an occurence that happens regulary rather than making it seem like it's something in the past.

Maybe I'm just reading into this way to much...

The commercial doesn't imply that she has gotten far enough into the call to get her card information. The customer just calls to ask why her credit score is on her bill. The customer service person wouldn't need any personal information to answer that question. With most cards, cable companies, etc, you have to enter your information before you ever get a live person. But if I remember correctly, every time I've called Discover It, it goes straight to a live person. One who speaks English, and is very friendly and helpful. It's really quite impressive.

Also here's a little cautionary tale. I believe very much that if you like music it's a really good idea to expose yourself to a stream of music that isn't curated especially for you. It's important to hear new things you may or may not like, just to get yourself out there.

In this way I heard some Courtney Barnett songs. I took a look and she was playing a little bar in town back in December. I didn't go, I liked her but not enough to go see her.

Late December Early January she stepped up into the next level of curation and went into heavy rotation on XM, public radio and major music blog outlets like Pitchfork.

Next month she's playing the biggest (by capacity) club in town and it's sold out already.

So if you are hearing her on XPN and said man I want to see her darn it sold out... Just by exposing yourself to one step higher in obscurity, which invites a lot more shit you wont like, you could've seen her back at that bar which I know did not sell out and you would've been able to probably talk to her, buy her a drink and honest to go half the time these people are looking for floors to sleep on.

It's just funny how quickly that turns around.

St George brewery is in Virginia, right outside the back gate of NASA Langley Research Center...award winning and some of the best I've ever had

It's actually very bad around here. As it turns out, he let the cop call the tow truck. When that happens, you pretty much double the cost, over calling yourself. I let him know to call them himself from now one. Of course, it won't matter by then. His mom is putting his car on the roadside coverage she gets from the insurance company. She probably could have added him to hers on her insurance for a couple of bucks a month at most. She just thought she already had. As for the ditch, I don't know the exact details, but two cars in front of him collided, and he swerved to avoid him. What he did must have been OK, because he didn't get a ticket.

What gets me is, when I called his mom the next morning to find out if he made it home OK, she had no idea what had happened. I told her, and her first response was "well he won't be driving again any time soon!" I was like... "Whoa... Hold on! He did EVERYTHING right!"

Is there any way for these companies to monetize priority shipping? I would never pay for expedited shipping from companies that are always so damn fast, somehow that feels like they're losing money. Could they just bluff it and hold onto my package if I get standard shipping, and release it immediately if I pay for the upgrade?

Zappos and Newegg have insane delivery times to my area, like the base delivery option is usually a 2 day delivery at the most. I ordered shoes around noon on Saturday and they were dropped off at my house at noon today (Monday.)

Is there any way for these companies to monetize priority shipping? I would never pay for expedited shipping from companies that are always so damn fast, somehow that feels like they're losing money. Could they just bluff it and hold onto my package if I get standard shipping, and release it immediately if I pay for the upgrade?

Are you right near a distribution center for them?

Zappos is Kentucky and Newegg is North Jersey. I think the Jersey location is new and Newegg was always very fast when the closest one was in Memphis.

It's taken longer for shit to get to me from the West Chester fedex hub which is about a half hour away.

These companies don't care. They're paying cents to move these packages. They're just going with whatever the cheapest carrier for that area for that type of service is.

Trying to hold packages longer to make more money on shipping will add to their storage costs, mess up their logistics, and add to product loss and damage. Their goal is to get the paid merchandise out of the building as fast as possible.

They're handing it off to fedex (or lasership or whoever), telling them this is the service we're paying for, and it's up to the shipping company to get it to you within that window.

If you're in a high volume area (like a city, or close to it), you're going to get the package right away. The carriers don't want the packages sitting longer than they have to, either. They're trying to maximize the route in your area, so if you're supposed to have it within 7 days, but some guy is going there tomorrow, it's probably going on the route.

The slow down with a lot of companies is usually the transfer across the country, or the business waiting for pickup. But companies like Amazon and Newegg hold so much power that they're #1 priority and their carriers pick up from their distro centers multiple times a day.

Also, quite a few carriers go direct from Amazon/Zappos/Newegg to you, especially in cities. It's easier to load a 53' trailer with goods, park it in a parking lot somewhere in a city, and distribute from there.

If you've been around NYC, you might have seen Fresh Direct guys parked on the streets. They just distribute from there, it's like a mobile warehouse.

Newegg has been coming out of Edison, NJ for years. They also send stuff from Kentucky. I used to use Newegg all the time, but I can almost always find what I'm looking for cheaper on Amazon. I still go to Newegg for the reviews, though. Amazon was always pretty quick, but now that I have Prime, it's always two days, and always free. Plus, I've been streaming a lot of movies from Prime, so the $79 a year really pays off.

I bought something off of ebay and it delivered from amazon prime, and I had bought it for cheaper than amazon had it. So I guess thats that cross distribution thing.

That's easy enough, but I have too many bills to pay. Thinking about my bills not getting paid because I'm in bed all the time would keep me in a depression cycle--not relaxing.

Well, most people have their wisdom teeth removed when they are really, really young, at a time in their innocent lives that Ice cream trumps Rum/pain pills.
At your advanced age, you pretty much have to wash down the Hydrocodone with Rum and Coke Zero, dare your liver to revolt.

I wouldn't say "really really young". Wisdom teeth usually come out in the late teens to early 20's. I've decided to be good, and not mix the drugs with the alcohol. It's a little better now. I'm taking small sips to keep it all on the non extraction side of my mouth.

Those drugs were pretty weird for me. I never take any form of prescription pain killer, and I rarely take any over the counter ones either. The hc knocked me out pretty much right away.

PapaBear

And the main reason I gave into the pills (the pain wasn't really unbearable at the time), was because you're not supposed to smoke the first 24 hours. The pills made it easier to forget about smoking.
