MIN may be in need of a QB.

What''s wrong with Collins? How come he's not the starter on Tenn. now?

It will be interesting to see if the Giants can contain him with all those weapons.

You may be right, but again, when you see a tightly defended receiver you look for the other ones...or am I wrong on that one?

When Eli threw it didn't appear to be tight as Samuel plays loose. Thats to Samuel's credit that he closes that fast. Also the WR didn't run a tight route, which gave Samuel the window for the pick.

The way Eli read it, it should have been a quick gain and he was right. However the WR gave Samuel a classic opportunity and he is good enough to take advantage of it.

Spoon, Buffalo isn't really THAT bad of a team. I knew they wouldn't go 0-16. But it looked like a good comeback by Buffalo. Then again I don't know if it's a testament to the will of Buffalo or how the spiral downward of Cincy continues.

You KNEW, as in it's very fucking rare to go without a win? Come on Tom, I want to hear your "predictions" not just some hindsight bullshit.

Also, Cincy sucks, has sucked and will continue to suck whether they have a lucky year here or there or not. To say they are in a "spiral downward" is funny. I don't know what "THAT bad of a team" means, or who thought it? Yet any pro team with that type of lead should never end up losing by that margin in the end. It was fucking pathetic to say the least. My father is a poor Bengals fan and he has sounded like a broken record since the days of Ken Anderson or even some success with Boomer. It's sad how badly coached that team is and seemingly went completely away from the system that got them to the playoffs for the first time in a long time. Pick up TO we have to pass?! WTF Cincy?

ok I should have clarified. I meant their record didn't reflect what kind of team they really were. (But I am sure you, and everyone else knew that)
I'm not shocked that they beat Cincy. I AM shocked that they beat them by that much (like you were)

And yes, spiral downward. This is, supposed to be, the same team that made it into the playoffs last year yes? With the addition of T.O., who is playing damn good football of late (I don't know what his day was like today). People predicted them to do MUCH better then they are this season.

And if you want to hear my predictions, go to the pick-em league on Yahoo we're in. It's pretty much right there for the world to see.

In reality, most of the time the Giants are short both their top possession receivers as Boss is being used a LOT as an extra blocker on passing plays due to a banged up line and Reid's propensity to blitz with numbers and often.

The D is the main reason we WON the Super Bowl. They held one of the most potent offenses to under 17 points!

But I will agree Eli did have a fantastic game in the NFC Championship. You are right about that one.

And I wasn't trying to do my usual Eli rants. I was only trying to back up the stat (which I agree with) that, for some reason with Coughlin, he always has a par or sub-par second half of a season.

spoon

Vick is running around way too much, as in not just when the pocket collapses or all the wrs are covered. He simply is back to running too soon, too often and he will lose the ball doing so or get hurt again. I've yet to see him throw it away or the Eagles for that matter attempt to establish the run game up 16-3. So here we now are bc of it.

thats why i didnt comment on the regular season shit. I hate coughlin as much as anyone, his play calling is terrible and the team wins in spite of him usually. Just pointing out that lets not act like the D carried the team to the SB. Eli was a beast in those playoffs, and even in the SB itself, it wasnt like he blew and the D saved him. the whole team played well and caught a couple big breaks.

We got lucky that we will lose but it isn't the blowout. Let's face it, if they didn't drop those balls in the end zone earlier this game would be 38 to 17 right now.

I SO hate losing to this team (again)

I hope the offensive line is healthy again when we face them in NJ in 4 weeks. Maybe the story will be different.

No way snacks. I can see a pass or two in there, but you kick that fg no questions.

I know you're a Jets hater, but luck can only take you so far when you're on your own 30 with less than a minute and no timeouts.

Luck is a ball hitting a cross bar and going over. Luck is a tipped pass that's caught. EXECUTION is what Sanchez to Edwards was. End of story.

This is really a fucking retarded statement. They took the chip shot FG to make the jets score a TD rather than a FG.

On average, law of averages, the yardage to get a TD is MORE than the yardage needed to get a FG. Thus then, YOU GO FOR THE FG, especially when there's less than a minute left and no timeouts.

You just want the Jets to lose so much you're becoming blind to basic football strategy.

Im not saying Kubiak didnt go by the book and do the normal thing. He did but he shouldnt have. This morning Boomer said the exact same thing I said on the wfan. He said that your team hasnt played well this year and you have the worst defense in the league you have to go for a td there.

the defense is terrible, playing that loose is terrible, coaching is terrible and not trying to score in that situation helps you loose. I said it before and I will say it again. if you dont make it you do make it that a fg beats you but starting possession at your own 3 yard line with no time outs is a lot tougher to do then returning a kick off to the 30 or 35 like they did and then having the sideline available. if they are at their 3 yard like they will never throw the sidelines because int for td is greater. but when you have room and are not backed up you now have the sideline.

doesnt matter either way hou needs to fire kubiak. that team has been a team that has been good enough for 3 years and cant seem to get over the hump. it comes down to coaching and kubiak is one terrible head coach. has anyone noticed how many bad coaching decisions by all different coaches this year? i think there are more bad head coaches these days then good ones. sad times for coaching in the nfl.

Brad Childress...FIRED

The Minnesota Vikings have relieved Brad Childress of his coaching duties and promoted defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier to interim coach for the rest of the season, the team said.

Frazier and Vikings owner Zygi Wilf are scheduled to hold a news conference at 4 p.m. ET at the team's facility.

The Vikings, tabbed as a preseason Super Bowl pick, struggled to a 3-7 record amid dysfunction. Wilf had said he would stick with Childress, but the last straw was apparently the team's humbling 31-3 loss to the archrival Green Bay Packers on Sunday.

The 31-3 loss was his most-lopsided home defeat in Childress' five years as Vikings coach, dropping his overall record to 40-37, including 1-2 in the playoffs.

Now let's see if they have the stones to bench Favre. I doubt it.

IF YOU GO FOR THE TD THE JETS WERE STILL ONLY ONE SCORE DOWN.

Texans up 1 at time of possession. Score TD, kick extra point, up 8. Jets can still tie the game in one possession. The degree of difficulty is a little more because of the two point conversion, but STILL.

Well, I'll be damned...the "icing the kicker" thing actually worked.

The last 40 yards -- at least -- of that kickoff return TD were with one fucking shoe!

Jesus Christ the Bengals fucking suck

4 TDs was pretty close.

Thanks for the acknowledgement. Went 3 for 3 today.

Maybe it's just a coincidence that've I've actually seen a lot of missed FGs and PATs this season but does it seem to anybody else like there's been more than usual ?

Every time Matt Millen makes a point now, I think to myself "You are the man who put together the only 0-16 team in NFL history."

seriously. i just laugh every time he opens his mouth.

What's so completely ridiculous is that anybody pays the guy to give his opinion.

He should be writing a blog hosted by Compuserv or something like that.

its started last year and seems to have continued this year

and i cant think of a good reason why .. other than the newer guys are no where as good as the kickers who have retired .. maybe its just no one wants to be a kicker so guys who in years past would have never made an nfl roster are now starting

That could be it but I'm not talking about guys not hitting 50 yarders.

I'm talking about guys missing 26 yarders.

You'd think even a HS kicker could make those.

yeh i know what you meant ... its been going on or at least ive noticed it more the last two years

and its not even blocks .. its chip shots and easily made 30 to 40 yarders

there were about 20 missed xp's last year and i think 6 so far this year. 2007 and 8 had like 13 and 6. sounds like this year is right about average.

Something I've wondered...when does this guy on the Red Zone channel take a piss? He's pretty much on the air from 1PM EST to close to 8PM. And he never seems to have a break long enough to really do anything.

Then again, he's hardly ever on cam, so he could be taking a leak live on the air for all I know.

So weird to see Cleveland a favorite, much less a 10.5 pt one.

Atlanta looking to make a statement? Not many are taking them very serious just yet despite their record. I'm sure a win vs. GB will give them some more clout and Ryan does play REALLY well at home versus on the road. Yet this year he's been pretty solid regardless.

holy crap did the Giants leave huge holes for those runs.
Not good.

Yea. Jacksonville just ran right up the field with, what looked like, no effort to come back and score a TD in no time.

So far the Atl/GB game is interesting. Two very good teams testing each other out to find the weak spots.

It's gb, I'd go with qb since no one could ever recover from losing Favre. I feel so sorry for the fans in GB.

Most of the season Green Bay has been able to make up for the loss of Ryan Grant. Today is the first time they are going to lose because they don't have him.
