2 games behind the Jets, 1-5 at home, will probably need to blow Gooddell to make the playoffs. Get sucking, boy.
No Miami doesnt play teams at the end of the year that quit like the Jets did last year. I as a real sports fan wouldnt want to get in by teams sitting their starters!
Once again Miami nor their fans are saying they are going anywhere this year. The Jets are and they cant even beat Miami at home. Miami 6-1 at on theroad not too bad! Once they learn how to win they will be trouble. But your team was hyped all year by you guys, your coach and the retarded media!
Stat of the week mentioned during the Jets game. The Jets were going for their 10th double digit winning season in their history. How terrible is that. In 50 seasons your team has only won10 or more games 9 times. They might not do it this year. Pitt they should lose, Chicago they might lose, Buffalo that could be the game to get them 10. Wow what a team what an org!

Can we jusy agree that the Dolphins and Jets both suck. They were lucky to make the playoff last year with Indy laying down the last game of the season instead of going for the record.
I agree Miami is a .500 team. With better coaching they will be a better team next year.

Dont forget Cincy laid down too and rested their starters to give the jets a gift last year too!

I couldnt get on today, so here are my thoughts on the games today...
- Detroit could seriously have just ended Green Bays playoff chances. I never wouldve thought it.
- Every week Washington loses gives me a bigger and bigger smile. This weeks was just classic.
- I thought the trip by that Jets coach was hilarious. If you aint cheating, you aint trying.
- If this whole Minnesota fiasco puts the Giants at a disadvantage next week.....good.
- New England is for real. You can stop saying they are not a good team. They slaughtered 2 teams in the last week with a combined 17-6 record at the time.
- Ive been telling people all day this Eagles game is going to resemble that MNF game against Washington. Look for a blowout. I had 2nd thoughts yesterday and thought it may be a little close, but I think they might win by 30 tonight.

Tenbatsuzen

neither they both suck Henne actually has a higher completion %, less ints and a better QB rating so dont go crazy because Sanchez did well 1 or 2 games. I think over all miami has a better team. The jets have just gotten lucky and the dolphins have gotten unlucky this year. I at least see miami for what they are, a .500 or little better team that needs to learn how to play 60 minutes. Jets and their fans have been delusional all year!

It's funny, because the word "career" isn't in the first post at all and the tone of the entire post is discussing the current season.

6-1 is better then 5-1. come on you can count
Miami is out, Im realistic. Didnt Rex the coach say that last year and hes fucking paid to coach and get them to the playoffs.
Im not talking about me saying they were going to the playoffs of course I did earlier in the year. Im talking about the majority of the jets fans on the radio, on the net, everywhere you look. They do stories about how much swagger the jets think they have and how great it was that the Pats shut them up and that the jets cant back up all their talk because their not that good.
At the end of the day your shitty team will make the playoffs again. Thats nice for you. But we all know the team they are and how shitty the organization has been forever!

Rex said he considered putting Marc Brunell in but the issues were not entirely Sanchez/s fault (several dropped passes, including a sure TD) so he figured Sanchez was his best option to win the game.

Well I clarified it for you now you know Im talking about career. And even if we are talking about this season, the only thing hes done better the Henne is he has a couple more
TDs. He has less yards, lower comp% by a lot and a lower QB rating. This year and for career. So it doesnt matter they both suck!

and since we are here, that whole argument about which organization is a better one, the jets or dolphins? The dolphins win in a fuckin landslide, cause they wouldnt fuckin trip opposing players on the sideline.

no, cause the culture of the team is being dirtbags. The way everyone acts probably got him to a point where he thought fuck it, this will go over. Its the overall attitude. Decent organizations would never have someone do that cause the person would know before hand its stupid and career suicidal. It clearly reflects on the org

Hey, don't be so hard on the guy...he apologized! That makes it all OK!
Jets assistant Sal Alosi admitted to tripping Dolphins cornerback/kick returner Nolan Carroll and apologized for his "inexcusable and unsportsmanlike" conduct in Sunday's loss.
"I made a mistake that showed a total lapse in judgment. My conduct was inexcusable and unsportsmanlike and does not reflect what this organization stands for," Alosi said in a statement. "I accept responsibility for my actions as well as any punishment that follows."
There's no way from the video that he could try to claim it was accidental -- he pretty clearly moves his leg to get in Carroll's way. So I guess this is his move of throwing himself on the mercy of the court.
But he's gotta be fired. This is inexcusable. I don't know if it's appropriate to fine Ryan as well, but I think he created that atmosphere of disrespect and bad sportsmanship that leads to this sort of foolishness.

Im not the type of person who wants peoples lives ruined over a mistake or a lapse in judgment. But in this case I hope he is fired. He is a coach and should be teaching the proper ways to handle losing. Instead he became a little bitch. Doing that is so stupid and shows the piece of shit he is and it all starts at the top.
All people make mistakes but this is the NFL and they fine and suspend players for everything. Now its time to make an example of a coach because not losing his job does nothing.

The jets as a whole have just been a bunch of dirtbags for years now. It all started with the face of the franchise hittin on suzie culber on live tv. Then the QB textin cock pics. Hey, lets got get a few criminals, including one who was a SB hero and still was let go for NOTHING by his team. Then, lets not do anything when one of them gets a DWI when there is a service to drive him free when he is drunk
and then lets sexually harrass a sideline reporter cause she is hot and so well thats her fault isnt it. Now we are trippin guys on the other team cause we cant beat other teams anymore without tryin shit like that.

No. That attention whore doesn't give a shit about the Giants defense.
And that is why you do hold him responsible. He is the team, the staff does things based on how he runs the team. If their was a little discipline maybe coaches wouldnt think thats ok to do in the first place. Think about it, in 45 years of the modern NFL has there ever been a coach who tripped a played from the sidelines? This is something you see in wings/beer commercials not in real life!

Favre tries to profit from end of streak (http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/12/13/favre-tries-to-profit-from-end-of-streak/)
Apparently, a salary of $16 million for 2010 isn’t enough.
Not long after Vikings quarterback Brett Favre (http://www.rotoworld.com/content/playerpages/player_main.aspx?sport=NFL&id=1744) was placed on the inactive list for Monday night’s game against the Giants, Favre’s official web site began selling a signed football commemorating his 297-game streak of starts.
For the low, low price of $499.99 (http://www.officialbrettfavre.com/fan_store/product_e7a41674c1fe/).
“One of the most historic streaks ever in all of sports has come to an end,” the message reads on Favre’s site. “The NFL’s own Ironman Brett Favre has ended his consecutive starting game streak at 297. Chances are if your under 40 you don’t remember a time in the NFL with out Brett Favre playing on Sunday. This is a monumental feat especially at the quarterback position. Just consider since 1992 the Chicago Bears have watched over 20 QB’s start for their team; and the average career length in the NFL is less than four years.”
The signed ball will include the inscription “297 starts 1992-2010.”

I looked around to see what the average salary of a NFL assistant is: it seems to be around $150K, though position coaches get upwards of $400K, and, of course, some big name coordinators make seven figures, more than some head coaches used to get.
So, yeah, this dude's probably making six figures.

Im not saying the player shouldnt know the rules and alert the league or whoever. Im saying the rules are idiotic that something legal is made illegal by the league.
Not really bc they'd all have "legal" Rxs for plenty of drugs which can be abused for advantages if these rules weren't in place. It's a simple process as Snoogans said. If the need is real all one needs to do is have the player and physician explain his actual therapeutic need and make the league aware of exactly what he's taking.

exactly and its one of the many reasons I have argued against all the assholes who have a problem with the players that have taken them. My Uncle who is a Dr has always told me steroids arent bad for you if they are taken properly and in proper cycles. The entire steroid argument is made to sound worse then it is. Its like any other PSA against drug use, they are meant to scare parents! There is evidence that steroids have been used on baseball and football as far back as the 60's. Baseball has also been known for its speed and uppers! Those are a lot worse for you then steroids!
Anyway back to the argument. If the players has a prescription for a legal drug he shouldnt need to wait for approval to take it. All this player should have to do is provide proof that this was done under a Drs care. I know thats not the rules of the league Im saying it should be the rules. The guy is suspended for taking legal drugs but because he didnt ask permission 1st they suspend him. Its all about control and showing who is boss. Its a bullshit power trip by the league!
BTW I dont even like the Patriots but I think its wrong they are getting fucked like this!
Does ur doctor work for Balco? Come on man, even used under strict supervision for many medical needs all forms of steroids used over time have TONS of medical drawbacks.

look at that!!!!
It has always made me laugh when they make players that did juice out to be villains. There have been lots of Drs that have said steroids really only give recovery to a player more then anything else. I compare steroid use to Tommy John surgery or Cortisone Shots (which is a steroid). They all help continue a players career especially ones that would be over before they start. Not only have players been able to come back and play from tommy john surgery most have come back as more of a power pitcher. You are supposed to be happy about advances in medicine to help continue a career or help give you the boost and recovery to play the next day. But because of assholes like Bob Costas who hate that todays athletes were breaking records that nerds like Costas jerked off to as a child they created this mess and made it worse then it is. For how much fans even hated steroids it only lasted a few years. For the most part the majority of fans dont give 2 shits about it.
But they got what they wanted, to make criminals out of Bonds and Clemons. I hope they both win their cases!

I think it just ended up showing how weak the entire NFL is.
This Patriots team is a weak team and they're destroying the "top" teams in the NFL.
Well let's be honest, the Pats are always well coached and rebound well. They had some struggles earlier this year mainly due to a VERY young D and changes in their offensive philosophy. Now, not so much and opposing coaches haven't adjusted AT ALL. It's amazing to me how bad the COACHING is in the NFL. Seeing what NE does with it's lesser players and late pickups should happen around the league. It doesn't bc people don't play to player's abilities versus making them fit systems and set plays. What the Pats have done with guys like Faulk and Woodhead are great examples. Hate them, but the respect level is high.

I'd take 9-4 right now if I could. Beats stressing over even getting TO 9 wins and a chance in the playoffs like the fucking Chargers have to right now. TURNER SUCKS.
The good news is Rivera is really giving this team a defensive identity this year and Rivers can make calls in the huddle to offset Norv. So at least that gives me hope. The bad news is that we'll probably lose Rivera to an open HC job this off season if AJ doesn't wise up and push out Norv.

Hey Vikings fans, ARE YOU REAAAAAAAADY....to freeze your balls off?
he field at TCF Bank Stadium is frozen and blanketed by 5-foot snowdrifts. The concession stands weren't built to withstand temperatures below 30 degrees. There are no beer taps.
But determined to play their final 2010 home game in Minneapolis, the nomadic Minnesota Vikings said on Tuesday that they will face the Chicago Bears on Monday night at the University of Minnesota's 2-year-old stadium. The game will be played 29 years to the day since the Vikings' last outdoor home contest, a 10-6 loss to Kansas City at Met Stadium in 1981.
"They love outdoor football in Minnesota," said Scott Ellison, the university's associate athletic director.
For one night, Vikings fans will learn to love it without their usual seats, luxury suites and parking spots. And, possibly, without their favorite brew: Alcohol is not sold at TCF Bank Stadium during Gophers games. "That's one of a myriad of issues on the table," Vikings Vice President Lester Bagley said of the possibility of selling beer on Monday night.
They better be selling beer. I obviously won't be at the game, but if I had to sit through a game outdoors, at night, in mid-December in Minnesota, I'd want to get shitfaced mysefl.

If you needed any more proof of what a dirtbag organization the Jets are, word comes that not only did assistant coach Sal Alosi intentionally trip a Miami player, he ordered inactive players to form a line to make that player run by him.
The New York Jets suspended assistant coach Sal Alosi indefinitely Wednesday after they discovered he ordered five inactive players to form a wall along the sideline for a punt return, during which he tripped a Miami Dolphins player.
General manager Mike Tannenbaum said Wednesday that Alosi, the team's strength and conditioning coach, did not initially acknowledge that he ordered players to stand that way during the investigation Monday.
"As we continued our investigation, we discovered some new information," Tannenbaum said in a conference call from the NFL owners meetings in Dallas, "and the players at the Miami game were instructed by Sal to stand where they were to force the gunner in the game to run around them."
Seriously, this idiot should have been fired already.

I heard on one of the shows this morning that they were like that on the prior punt but were not like that when the Jets punted.
So obvioulsy it's not something they do " all the time " as some suggested.

The organization is trash. It amazes me how the philly fans get such a bad rep but I have never experienced worse,, dirt bag, piece of shit fans with no class like the jets and their fans. I have friends who have gone to phillies games with Mets jerseys on and had great times with other phillies fans. You cant go to a jets game without almost fighting someone, they fight themselves. they are all assholes as we can tell by jets fans on this board.
Anyway the wall was pretty obvious on sunday. The jets didnt even want to speak about this until the next day. They had to get their story all worked out. I think this Alosi guy is taking the fall for the head coach or special teams coach.
It has been funny how former players and current players through out the league have come out and said this was fucked up and you can tell it was coached not a 1 mans bad decision.

all class, those new york jets. What a teammate santonio holmes is:
WR Santonio Holmes said yesterday that the reason be came off the field as the punt returner Sunday against Miami was because he'd become so frustrated with how well Dolphins punter Brandon Fields was kicking he begged out of the game, giving way to CB Antonio Cromartie .
"It wasn't fun because the guy was kicking it 60 or 70 yards and he didn't give me a chance to get going," Holmes said. "I was upset. I kind of got frustrated and didn't even want to return punts because of way he was punting the ball.
"I got tired of him punting. Every time he got back to punt, this guy was standing on his own goal line and he's punting it to our 15-yard line. I'm like, 'Who does that?' I told 'West' (special teams coach Mike Westhoff), 'You can send someone else back there. There's no way I want to return 97-yard punts.' "

But yes, you can because they are all pieces of shit who rather act like fools themselves and created these bad examples for their team. When you are a piece of shit like they are you cant try to tell others how to act. Do as I say not as I do? Well that doesnt last long.

How can you not blame Ryna when players are making the decisions to not do certain things,
So now a player is running special teams and a wanna-be coach is running the inactive players ?
How is this Alosi guy taking the fall for the Jets ?
They've gotta be paying him under the table to keep his mouth shut otherwise what's in it for him ?

Most veteran recievers that double as punt returners usually have the option of whether they want to do it or not. Its not like when a rookie starts returning punts his first year on the team.
The reason I know this is because the papers here think Desean Jackson is nuts for returning punts as he doesnt even make 1 Mill a year and is due for a big contract in the offseason. Andy Reid has said multiple times that he's only out there doing it because he wants to, and the choice was his if he wanted to stop or not. I gotta believe Sanantonio Holmes has the same kind of pull with the Jets,

No, that was my response to the accusation that a player is running the special teams. The reason why he didnt want to return punts was indefensible, not that he didnt want to. Many players stop returning punts as the progress as every down stars, but to say he didnt want to do it that game because the punter was too good? Thats such a pussy move.

Both the Cowboys and the Redskins need real, independent GM's who will be allowed to run the team the way they see fit.
I think, in a lot of ways, the owner that gets this the most is Bob Kraft in New England. He just signs the checks and rakes in the cash, and lets Belichick and the front office run the team. Love or hate the Patriots, I think everyone has to admit they've probably shown everyone the blueprint for how to run a team in the era of the hard salary cap in the NFL.
I mean, this is supposed to be a "rebuilding year" for the Pats, and suddenly they look like the odds-on favorite to win the Super Bowl. Again.

I think the problem is that teams try to copy what the Patriots seem to be doing, and you end up with Josh McDaniels absolutely tanking the Broncos. You need to have the right guy doing the personnel decisions. Belichick had Pioli helping him for so long. You can't just have the coach making all the decisions, there needs to be some sort of good guidance there with him.

I think this is just a pissing contest against Snyder, at this point. Shanahan didn't want Donovan playing and benched him for the end of the game. So what does Snyder do? Goes out and signs him to a multi-year, multi-million contract extension. It's just two strong headed people going after each other, at this point. Shanahan gone after this year.

McNabb being in AZ would only work if Larry is still with the team and that is doubtful.
Donovan certainly didn't have a stellar year like he has had with the eeekals but lets be real here, Shannahan had it in for him from the start and everyone saw it. I think he is going to kill the team. He's not the coach he once was and also the team was riddled with injuries this year (if I am not mistaken).
The only bright spot is their new RB.
I think for McNabb to be benched and then told "you might not be here next year" ALREADy by the coach (and then told to the media by the same coach) is disgusting. There are certain things you wait to announce at the end of the season, and that would be one of them. That coach, in my opinion, is an outright asshole for doing that now instead of after the season ends.
As a Giants fan when Tiki announced his retirement way before the season ended we thought it was one hell of a selfish act. This is about Shannahan's ego.

yah you surely lost me on that one I admit
Oh and I really believe they have very few weapons in Washington, but shanny jr's lack of use of two very good pass catching te's is awful. Both Cooley and Davis make for matchup nightmares and easy outs for a guy like McNabb who loves to use the TE. Just look at how easily Torain was cutting up the D last week in the first half only to have the Shanny boys not use him almost at all in the 2nd half? WTF?! I truly never considered the elder Shanahan to be a very good coach either. He just walked into a TON of talent and his lines got away with REAL dirty tactics, career ending tactics for many D-linemen and LBs, when his teams were running over the competition.

I'm still really shocked that they didn't have a backup plan to losing their qb after they shipped out the next in line. I find it odd they just didn't seem to realize Anderson's EXTREMELY inaccurate arm wouldn't be the answer in any way. With the WRs they still have even with Boldin leaving, you simply can't go into a year with a SHIT division and good playoff team over the past few year and not even come close to replacing Warner's arm. Instead they lose Warner, Rolle and Boldin and expected to compete anyway. They should have at least had a plan if they were so convinced they had to let Leinart go. I know he's third f'n string in Houston behind Orlovsky right now, but they really could have easily won this division with a slightly below average qb.

If you think REX GROSSMAN is the answer, the question must be the most absurd, depressing thing ever.
Get the fuck out, Donovan. Get your ass to Arizona.
Your comparing Dave Shula who was the miami OC/coach during a time when Miami was winning, had the highest power offense in the league and went to 2 SB with him as the OC. Thats why youre a dick. You try to sound intelligent and use examples but your examples are useless. Comparing a guy who helped bring his team to 2 SB and who helped a team and QB put up numbers that were never seen in the NFL before to a guy who has never done anything is comical!
You try to bash everything Miami and because its so easy for me and everyone to bash the Jets. The difference is the Jets are a proven losing, piece of shit organization and Miami isnt. They might have had some down years in the 2000's. But the Jets can not be compared or even talked about in the same discussion. So stop your bashing because you sound foolish!

He began his coaching career with the Miami Dolphins in 1982, under his father as head coach. In 1989, Shula was hired by Jimmy Johnson to be his offensive coordinator for the Dallas Cowboys, a position he held for two seasons. Shula was demoted from that position after the 1990 season, and soon thereafter left the Cowboys to take an assistant coaching position with the Cincinnati Bengals in 1991.
In 1992, Shula was named head coach of the Bengals. At age 32, he was one of the youngest men to achieve such a position with an NFL team. His stint with the Bengals was unsuccessful, however. The team compiled a 19–53 record over Shula's four and a half years at the helm.
It wasn't a Miami-bash you jackass. It was going after nepotism, especially since the Shulas are guilty of it and it didn't work.
If you read between the lines, Shula was a clipboard holder for his father. Nothing more.

Nepotism didnt get him the job in Dallas as an OC? Demoted or not he was hired by JJ in dallas. Nepotism didnt get him the head coaching job in Cincy. Yes but he obviously performed well enough to help them get to 2 SB and then get jobs away from his father all on his own!

Landry could be a scumbag too. I remember a game during the strike year where he had starters that crossed the picket lines and ran up the score against an Eagles team that had all scabs on it.
Now I usually defend running up the score, but this was essentially pros going up against college players that couldnt make it in the big time. I still dont know what he was trying to prove. But thats ok, because Buddy paid back the favor with a nice fake kneel down by Randall.

I agree that all you really want is to win and in all honesty I will give Belichek a hard time for that block and even spygate. But the rule of thumb in all sports is "you aint trying if you aint cheating" I think you do need to take advantage of all rules but when your caught then people have a right to bitch.
As for the media, you can ask my cousin crippler there isnt anyone you could find on this board that hates the media more then me. I have my reasons but fuck them. What I dont like about what he does is he doesnt give the most basic of answers that fans wants to hear. Fuck the media just give something for the fans to understand what you were doing, no matter what it was.
To answer your question, YES I would take him and I would even take Rex. I actually like Rex for the most part he brings confidence to a shitty team. But sometimes that back fires like it is now. You need to reel it in sometimes just a bit. There is no team I hate in the NFL but the Jets. Im not happy the Pats are as good as they are. I did hate them and root against them in 07 (for obvious reasons) But for the most part I have nothing against any team in the NFL except the Jets!

Nepotism almost worked here once before: Marty Schottenheimer and his son who was a coordinator started to turn things around after an 0-5 start. And Schottenheimer also had the good sense to fire Vinny Cerrato. So what does Snyder do after the season? Fires Schottenheimer, brings back Cerrato and hires Steve Spurrier.
I don't understand Snyder's obsession with Shanahan since he has an ego almost as big as Snyder's and was never that impressive building a team on his own in Denver. Those Super Bowl teams were essentially Dan Reeves'.

Well one thing I agree on is Snacks is one HUGE homer. Oh wait two, I can't stand the Jets either. However, both of you did forget that Kyle Shanahan wasn't first an OC in Washington, but the last two years in a pretty good Houston offense. I hate the kid and his father, but if anything he got a shot early in his career BECAUSE of his name/tie to his father, not directly from him. Much the same can be said of Shula's quick rise as is normally the case with high profile names in coaching with their sons and the coaches under them.
Kyle was with the Texans as they brought in Schaub, Johnson and others after the Carr debacle (and of course his O-line). So as the Texan offense got better, so did Kyle's link to it. Perhaps he's not as responsible as we thought, but it surely can be reasoned that he was at least a big part of it and his initial hiring wasn't such a bad call. He went from wr coach in 06, to qb coach in 07 and filled in at OC when Sherman left from 08-09.
I honestly think it's his father fucking him up in Washington, but it's impossible to know. They never seem to be on the same page in press conferences and they surely have different approaches through recent history in their attacking styles on O. The bad news for Kyle is his father is AWFUL at getting his D to play well and he always seems more interested in the O side of the ball due to his past of course.

Didn't see any of this obviously, but don't doubt it at all. He is his father's son after all. Wasn't he fired by Reeves back in 1991 for starting shit bt him and Elway?
Pretty much I find when looking back that he's a petty man who blames everyone else when shit goes wrong. Hell, look at this year alone in Washington. First it's Haynesworth, then McNabb and now didn't they just cut the holder/punter, Hunter Smith (though not having a good year either), due to the mishandle of the snap on the extra point. From what I've read he was handling awful snaps from a young inexperienced snapper all day and a kicker who already missed two chip shots in that very game. It basically means the Shanahans are good on one thing these days, passing the buck/blaming everyone else. What does this say of their preparation, game planning, situational execution and leadership? Head coach has to go and if only it was that easy to get rid of an owner in this case as well.

Several of my friends, who have been on the Redskins season ticket waiting list (one for at least ten years), are suddenly getting emails saying that season tickets are finally available for next year. Gee... I wonder why?

Though I love what Williams did for the team, he just saved an already great team at the end of the season, when they were in crisis. Like Ron always talks about, Skins fans are unnaturally optimistic by nature. The fact that season tickets are suddenly available, when said tickets (not counting club seating, which have been available for years due to their ridiculous cost), means the fans are actually starting to give up on them. For the first time in my memory, they aren't ending a bad season by saying "next year will be better". They are giving up their tickets.

Why should they be optimistic? Even if Shanahan and McNabb go, Lil' Danny Snyder still owns the team.

Reports came out that Bill Cowher has a Christmas list of jobs he would be interested if they came available.
Miami Dolphins
Houston Texans
NY Giants
They reported these are the 3 jobs he would want. They said it in this order so I hope if and when Miami fires Sparano he chooses Miami over any other one that might be available!

Sparano gets a bad rap as he dosen't call most of the plays.
Would Cowher work as HC? Or would he want full control?
