I dont even get what youre saying here. 30 TDs is 30 TDs. If I said 30 passing TDs then youd have a point. I didnt. Therefore every TD counts. If he lined up in the wildcat and caught a pass for a TD, Id count it.
You also said Kolb and hence the argument that a first time qb wouldn't have put up those stats is moot if you put in Vick instead. My point is you are directly substituting Vick's stats to what Kolb "would have" if he had started. That's the same as saying Rivers would have won the SB with the Giants in place of Manning, only worse bc of time lines and past performances in this case.

yeah but when youre talking about a QB i think we all thought you meant passing TDs. if he had 34 passing tds and 1 catching td i dont think one person here would say you won. now if youre talking about vick i would guarantee someone would have said 35 total tds not just the word tds.
I totally agree on this, but it doesn't even matter bc it's only a sig bet (hardly a payoff) and it's completely over.
When we argued it, I made points that only around 5 or so qbs throw more than 30 in most years, the top qbs in the league. You place Kolb there as a first-time starter in a tough conf with no fucking line at all. Yah, that's why I made the connection bt your Rivers/Manning argument.

Well when you make a bet you need to know what youre betting. As he said it doesnt matter because the bet was lost no matter what, but if Kolb had finished with 28 passing TDs and 2 rushing, I absolutely wouldve considered that my bet won.
It was more when they were choosing bt the two after each played about a game or so. I for one said bc of the line, Vick's mobility and the contract status of both it made complete sense to put Vick in, as I did to the shitload of Eagle fans in my family. I'm not going back to the beg of the year to show this, as you have to remember that. It was mainly Snoogans and myself, but others jumped in too.
And I actually agreed with you on that point. I didnt expect the line to be that horrendous. I even said afterwards he may have made that decision as much to protect Kolb from having his career ended then to win games. My only problem I had was Reid going back on his practice of not losing your spot to injury. But before the season started when I predicted Kolb to have a big year, nobody thought Vick had anything left, including me.

And Im still not saying Kolb wouldve had the same numbers. I was just pointing out that those weapons on that offense can help you put up some amazing numbers. As well as Vick did this year he wouldnt have put up those numbers with the WRs or RBs they have in say....Washington.

Well talk about opposite ends of the spectrum why don't you?!
If the bet was for something decent we surely would have ironed out the details as well. I've never placed any bet outside this one with you in the past, but I know you would have least paid up unlike some Albanian welch. I'd be embarrassed if I were him, but I guess that explains his hiatus from the board...unless it's taking him another 40 weeks to repair his comp. Fucking sad.

if thats true I hope he gets hurt. He makes what 15 million a year? Its not like he needs 1 td, 4 tds are a lot to take that risk for. Now it looks like he might get it because miami looks like dog shit.
Going into this game Miami's def is ranked 3rd overall yet they look like they quit. Its all on the coach. He needs to be fired today after the game. I dont know how Parcells who quit himself has tried or has convinced Miami to keep him and give him another chance?

Josh just continues to impress. We haven't had a real QB in Tampa since, well, ever.
Blount I'm just not sold on yet, but man can you say coach of the year!?
Blount needs to have a complimentary back, and he needs to get better at hitting the first hole in short yardage, but once he is moving it routinely takes four guys to bring him down and he is freaky athletically for a 250 lb guy. Hopefully Kareem Huggins can come back and provide a change of pace.
Rah has done a great job developing the young guys and plugging in scrubs for all the starters and their backups the team has lost this year. He has my hypothetical vote.

I hope youre right because I dont see Vick missing that game.

I'm still not sure how KC did it, but man they got TROUNCED by both divisional opponents to end the year. Fuck you Turner. In case I haven't said that recently.

Here's how the playoffs will go. You can lock this the hell up too:
Wild Card Round:
1. Saints over either the Rams or Seahawks
2. Colts over Jets
3. Ravens over Chiefs
4. Eagles over Packers
Divisional Round:
1. Steelers over Colts
2. Falcons over Saints (that'll be in Atlanta, and I don't think the Saints can beat the Falcons there again)
3. Eagles over Bears
4. Patriots over Ravens
NFC Championship:

I can easily see that happening. As an Eagles fan the game I think would give them the most problems would be Chicago just because it would be in Chicago and considering the way they let that field look last game I would think in the playoffs it might look like the Everglades.

The Cleveland Browns have fired coach Eric Mangini following a second straight 5-11 season that ended with a humiliating home loss to the rival Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was dismissed during a Monday morning meeting with team president Mike Holmgren. The club announced his dismissal in a statement.
Mangini went just 10-22 with the Browns and finished his second season with a four-game losing streak. Cleveland went 2-6 following an upset of NFL heavyweight New England on Nov. 7 - a victory that seemed like a turning point. Instead, it only triggered a slide.

Yeah, he's definitely gone. John Fox in Carolina is also so, so fired too. I'm not sure what's going to happen with Jeff Fisher in Tennessee, but my guess is that he's fired too.
I heard somewhere that Gary Kubiak in Houston is safe for now, but that franchise just looks like it's not going anywhere.
I'm not sure if Jerry Jones will keep Jason Garrett in Dallas. My guess is that he will unless he can land a huge name like Cowher. The Cowboys did show signs of improvement under him, though.
To me, a wild card in this is Oakland. Given the improvement the Raiders showed this season, you'd think it would be obvious that Cable would stay, but we are talking about Al Davis here. He might get the idea that the coach is holding this team back and fire Cable anyway. It's hard to say.

I'm pretty sure Fox is walking away (not fired). It's being allowed out of respect and I like the move. At least that's what I heard.
Cable is staying, I'm not convinced Al is now calling all the shots in Oakland (hence last year's draft and season).
Fisher is indeed a huge question mark and coveted by Jerry Jones if the Titan's owner & GM go with Young over Fisher. To me, a HUGE mistake.
Kubiak should go, but if not they better get a new D coordinator yesterday! Holy shit that team can't stop anything.
Garrett would normally be safe in Dallas after that year, but you know Jerry wants a top flight coach NOW. If he can get Cowher or Fisher, Garrett will be done as head coach. Question is, will he stay in Dallas? I'm sure he won't be fired like Wade, but he may want to move on if not in control, but that's a lot of money for an OC to walk away from. My guess is he stays on for a year and gets another HC job. I'd take him right now over Turner. Fuck, I'd take almost everyone in this conversation over Turner (not Fox bc the game has passed him by).

And anything he doesnt punish like he should we assume he enjoys himself. So ole Roger enjoys drunk driving, vehicular manslaughter, leaving NFL employees sexually harrassing voicemails and texting his cock to women without them wanting it. Oh yea, and he does steroids and other rec drugs.

Just read the lawsuit, or still going through it. Putting my HR cap, here's the issue:
1) The masseuse being harrassed had her husband call Farve telling him to knock it off. That's issue 1. They should have gone through the Jets if they really intended to go through with it. They actually tried to handle it like real people do, though.
2) The lawsuit mentions Sainz. Who herself said she was not sexually harrassed.
3) As the massage coordinator said for the Jets, "it would have be handled internally and holding on to text messages for 2 years, I question your intentions".
BINGO. The Tiger Woods Text Message effect. They wanna get paid.
The suit also mentions the therapists never worked for the Jets after 2008.
Then after the text messages surfaced when the Sterger thing blew up, the suit says again they never worked for the Jets after the Massage coordinator said "you'll never work for the Jets again".
So how is it going through on a threat if you haven't worked there for 2 years?
The lawsuit is also submitting the Jets swimsuit calendar as evidence of sexual harassment.

Now I'm just waiting until this guy goes down for touching kids in the Meadowland's bathroom to a P-E-D-S PEDS PEDS PEDS chant while being led away in cuffs.
Fuck that Giant fan for dropping simple assault charges. I can't stand that fuck.

You know what? This whole suit is based on two text messages of Favre flirting with a woman. It's possible he didn't know she was married. Why did she sit on it for two years? She wants to get paid.
What Favre did to Sterger was over the top. But I think this is just a meritless lawsuit. They are probably going to get paid, but the fact they didn't go through official channels speaks volumes. They'll get next to nothing.

I understand it a little. when i was real young i always bounced around when it came to baseball. I was a yankee fan when i was real young, then rooted for the mets then back to the yanks and now i dont like 1 team anymore then the other. I actually rooted for the Sox in 2004 and now I say im just a fan of players and not really a fan of teams.
When it came to baseball I never kept my loyalty. Now for football I love the Dolphins and have not changed since Jan 1983 when they played in the SB against Wash. Basketball I have loved the Nets since the mid 80s.

Some of these coaches wouldve been fired last year if there wasnt the possibility of a lockout after this season.
Shoulda, coulda, woulda....this may be true but the fact remains that is all came down THIS year. And my questions remains...is this the most coaches to be fired from start of the season to before the SB in one year? I would think so.

Because The Jets organization was never involved in this. It's not like some coverup. Favre texted the massage girl, but the massage girl never reported it. The Jets first caught wind of the situation when the Sterger thing broke and then the massage girls came forward. The massage girls apparently did not cooperate with the NFL when the Sterger investigation was happening, a fact conveniently glossed over in the lawsuit.
The "problem in the organization" was fixed when Favre left the team.
What other problems has there been with the Jets team?
1) Rex has a dirty mouth. BIG WHOOP, IT'S FOOTBALL.
2) Braylon goes DUI. That is inexcusable, but that's a personal issue, not an organizational one.
3) Alosi: They hung him out to dry. That is indefensable. Making the wall was one thing; but the trip was stupid.
4) The Foot Fetish stuff: Two adults having fun. They deleted the videos when Rex began to rise up through the ranks, but that's bedroom stuff. It's embarrassing, but it's hardly organizational chaos. Someone was digging for dirt and the lesson learned is that stuff doesn't go away on the internet. Just because it's not your kink doesn't mean lack of organizational control. Fuckin' Belichick broke up a marriage. That to me is a lot worse, IMHO.
Stop acting like this is inmates running the asylum. Anything Favre-related with the Jets has NOTHING to do with the current Rex Ryan regime.
Don't forget about the Head Coach of the team throwing passes in the direction of a female reporter, causing players to hoot & holler.
Face it, the head coach sets the tone for the team. Its not his just to be "one of the boys", rather to be the fucking boss. He's low-grade trash and his team represents him well.

Sterger never said a word about this until Daulerio pushed her and then decided to break it himself.
The Massage Girls never said a word about this until Sterger came forward.
Again, this isn't a cycle of repeated behavior on the JETS - this is strictly on Favre's behavior. Do you think the Jets knew that Favre was some kind of creep poonhound when they brought him on board?
The Alosi thing, I know damn well why he wasn't fired, but that's on-field strategy that went horribly wrong.
The Favre thing, all of these problems are popping up 2 years after the Jets washed their hands of him.
The TEXTBOOK definition of sexual harassment is a cycle of repeated behavior of unwanted sexual advances that the employer does NOTHING to correct. The #1 tenet of sexual harassment at the workplace is to document and REPORT. The second part is very key. It's apparent that Sterger and the massage girls DOCUMENTED but they never REPORTED.
Even then, if this is just about two text messages of Favre misguidedly flirting, that makes for an EXTREMELY weak sexual harrassment case. If anything, this could be what happened:
1) Favre flirts with massage girl via text message.
2) Massage girl's husband calls Favre, flipping the fuck out.
3) Favre tells husband to go fuck off.
4) Favre tells Jets that some crazy massage girl's husband called him cursing him out. Jets decide to passively aggressively end the relationship by not hiring that particular contractor again. They have no idea that Favre was texting either the massage girls or Sterger.
Massage girls never brought it up to the Jets, never reached out, never said anything for two years, so the Jets had NO IDEA this was going on.

GOD I hate this line of reasoning, sorry nicky. It's just bullshit people say about assholes with no tact or class. It's one thing to say someone is interesting, but it's a whole other thing to call him a breath of fresh air bc he's a loud mouthed prick with nothing to back it up.
As for the poll, have you listened to the average player these days? Do you think they know what's best for themselves and team versus what they want so they can run the asylum? Rex and the organization lets everyone act like classless dicks, drive drunk, get kicked off planes, trip players/set up human walls, treat women like shit and be basic trash. I guess most players see that as appealing since they are all pretty much narcissistic assholes anyway. Well at least once they leave like Favre right Tbats?

Do you notice that Sterger never mentioned making a legal action against the Jets? It was always getting legal action against Favre. Because as misguided as her legal quest has been, they know that because she didn't report the behavior, their case is weak.
If the behavior was reported in a timely fashion and the Jets did nothing, then I would agree with you 100% that the Jets are at fault.

Also, Snoogans smokes pot on his own and isn't linked to an organization that HIRES HIM. He posts on a board, WAY DIFFERENT. WOW.
Next, even a retarded Favre throws less picks than Namath. Just look at their ratios.
Finally, LT was hardly a reclamation project in the sense of character issues that we are speaking on. One can argue he wasn't the physical player he once was, but hey he is over 30 in the NFL at the RB position. That much is to be expected. Now Cromartie, yah, he's just another example of great character moves by the organization at any cost. It's the same feel Oakland and Cincy had for years and it took both down so good luck in the future. I'm sure watching feet go up old lady cooch together will keep everyone in line at the Jet camp.

who the fuck cares why they didnt report it? they probably do just want money. that doesnt change the fact that the jets org is full of scumbags running around doing whatever they please and no one seems to give a fuck
That's a HUGE point too, they don't give a fuck about any of it. Every organization has shit like this at points but they deal with it respectfully and move on. The Jets deny, deflect, ignore and laugh. Classless as everyone here keeps pointing out.

also, lets not forget holmes was such a scumbag that a team he was a current pro bowler and super bowl hero didnt even want him back. and the jets jumped on gettin him for like 10% value. thats how good of a person holmes is. How can you not say the jets have a part in people being scumbags when they willingly bring in all these known scumbags
and holmes didnt just smoke weed, he also busted a fuckin champaigne glass on some chicks face in a fuckin bar. Yea defend that asshole

don't forget the other part i mentioned above when he arrested for a second time on June 18, 2006 for domestic violence and assault in Columbus, Ohio against his baby's momma
of course she later wanted charges dropped and the prosecutor denied it only to later follow through on it bc he didn't have a case without her testimony

Epo, your team:
1) Employed Favre. So if everyone is saying that the Jets should have known about Favre's creeping, that makes the Packers just as guilty in this situation. Favre had a drug problem too.
2) Employed Chmura.
3) Employed Reggie White.
So if you want to keep railing about the Classless Jets, make sure your glass house is well protected.

Tenbats knew this information, at least some of it and exactly why I included Holmes. It's just his technique for noise in an argument and an attempt to dig out. Come on Matt, you know the Jets and the organization are garbage right? Just root for the Dolphins and be the reverse Fireman Ed so you and Snacks can go to the Meadowlands together and argue with Jet fans on organizational ranks and fan base numbers. Shit, even Marino was better than Namath, so you'd at least have that going for you.

wasnt reggie whites shit racist comments after he retired? And its not like he really did something horrible, just made ill conceived commentary. Im sure epo will get more into it but the other 2 were pretty much dumped by GB. I know Mark was and they tried to pay favre to leave, he said no so he could go to the jets and send his limp dick to half the city

No charges were filed in the champagne glass incident. It's happened over six months ago now. Why would Orlando police do a favor for a New York Jets player?
The Ipod incident - again, no charges were filled, no league sanction was made, and he's already on Goodell's shit list. It was just a story on a slow news day that had no merit.
EDIT: I'll have to go back and find the story, but apparently Holmes was trying to sleep and had the headphones on to drown out the plane noise. Stewardess thought his Ipod was on, and got the cops involved.

if you want to dissect the Packers later fine, but right now we're talking about the Jet's organization
let's not go all over the place and dilute the topic as is one of your tactics

so no charges were filed, that makes it ok? Obviously something happened. Notice the giants and even packers who you tried to attack never even get brought up in these stories? Dont you fuckin get it?

So let's do this one at a fucking time:
1. Green Bay offered Favre a 10-year contract for $20+million to retire and to "protect his legacy". In other words, go the fuck away money.
2. Mark Chmura after the charges of the incident went to court without the support of the team and was run out of the league.
3. Reggie White's comments were done after his retirement.
Look at the difference between our organizations. The Packers saw problems and fucking dealt with them. The Jets saw problems and took actions to add them to their pathetic organization.

On March 24, 2010, Anshonae Mills filed a lawsuit against Holmes over a March 7 incident in which she alleges Holmes threw a glass at her in an Orlando nightclub, resulting in a cut above her eye. Initially, Mills did not pursue charges, claiming Holmes and the police intimidated her into it, but the case has been reopened. Subsequently, after a Twitter comment criticizing the nightclub incident, Holmes told the follower to "kill urself." He later Tweeted it was time to "wake n bake," a reference to marijuana.[20] Holmes alleges his account was hacked and it was not him making the comments.[21]
Well it looks like there are charges in the end being filed...not two years later too.
The Ipod thing was just another bullet point in a power point presentation showing the guy is a complete asshole leading to the Steelers letting him go for basically nothing as Shaun stated.

Kareem McKenzie, DUI.
Jim Fassell - got fucking LOADED at an event for wellington mara and basically ended his NFL HC career.
Kerry Collins - racist and drunken issues before coming to the Giants.

And if your players got a DUI I'm sure they'd miss more than a series of plays in one game. It's how it's handled that makes it worse every time with the Jets. That and the fact that they jump on all these players on the cheap like the Cowboys, Raiders and Bengals of old. Ok, Bengals of now too (TO, Coke spoons both last year).

yea you helped prove the point. Fassel was run out of the league after. WE DIDNT KEEP HIM
And thats one incident with mckenzie a long time ago. And collins was after rehab, a class organization gave a guy a chance on the rebound and it turned out he changed his ways and NEVER GOT IN TROUBLE AGAIN
the jets keep having incidents and take guys who did shit and then keep being assholes.

Yes, what a shock he'd continue to be an ignorant asshole. THAT'S the point Matt.
As for the charges, who cares one way or the other. It's reported they pushed her/intimidated her not to press charges from a ton of media reports. Either way (case is on or not) do you think he didn't do it?! Are you on the Jet staff or something?
I'm sure it's out there somewhere, but I just don't think it matters enough to find it.
