also, that kick won brady the game. it was one of those 4 point FGs that woulda ended it right there
Come on, he could hit it and if he got ran into, he could go for the 4pt play.

dont you hate when a team wins because the other team actually lost it? When a kicker misses a chip shit fg it means you are lucky not that you won it. I hate shit like that. But I guess thats why Viniteri was so important without him who knows what happens in those 3 SBs or if they even make it to the SB?!
It really makes me happy when everyone just ignores you.

one of the worst things about living in the ny/nj tri state area is yankee, knicks and giants fans. jets fans always sucked but it wasnt til recently that they started to talk shit. mets fans are pretty good and as a nets fan i can say most dont talk because there isnt much to talk about.

TEAMS Go to Super Bowls not individuals. Hes lucky he has always had a team to get him there along with a hell of a coach.
teams go to super bowls? That's so weird! I thought the players were elected by voting to go the super bowl.
The super bowl is next sunday, right?
But you're right. A lot of QBs have been so lucky to go to 5 SBs. It's an absolutely common occurrence.

I dont know what was funnier, the 4 pt. field goal or hearing how the Pats are overrated because they were a #1 seed.
So, if the Giants win this one whats that buy Coughlin? 2 more years before calls for his firing? 1 if he loses?

Tom Brady is a better QB than Marino
Not because of 3Sbs.
But because he is just better.
And is not a stat whore like Marino was.
If he was a stat whore he could break every one of his records, but shockingly he actually wants to win.
The end.

Coughlin getting to the SB gets him at least 2 more years, which makes me happy, because he's a terrible HC.
Victor Cruz seems like this amazing find for Coughlin, only he had an amazing preseason in 2010, but Coughlin benched him. Then he started 2011 on the bench. The only reason he started playing was because someone else was injured. This AMAZING wide receiver is on the team, but Coughlin ignores him because he's too young.

Coughlin has this weird thing where he avoids his WRs, for whatever reason.
Last year, they were completely undersized at WR, but wouldn't put Barden (6'7") in any game.

True, but I mean, he cant be to terrible a head coach if he wins 2 Super Bowls in 4 years. Its not like he inherited a dynasty like Barry Switzer.
I just laugh because I see Giants fans saying the same shit about him Eagles fans say about Andy Reid, yet they chastise Philly fans for not appreciating Reid even though Coughlin already got them 1 Super Bowl win and a chance at another. While Reid has 1 SB appearance and 0 wins under his belt in 13 years.

I'm a Giants fan, but I'm far from an asshole and I give credit where it's due. The Niners punt returner gave the game away to the Giants. I can't say that the better team won, because we don't know who really was the better team today. I thought the game was going to be higher scoring, but both defenses really stepped up. There were times that I was shocked by some of Coughlin's play calling, much like of couple of you were.
Congrats to the Giants, and a thank you to the Niners for one hell of a game.

Also just found out his last game in college he fumbled a kickoff that all he had to do was kneel down with and gave University of Arizona the ball with no time left, and they kicked a field goal to win the game. AND he dropped the game winning touchdown in his high school state title game.

because you are trying to be an asshole because thats what you are i will say this. i never said its the only reason. i did say, especially back then that he had great defenses and he won those super bowls in very close games because of def and a clutch kicker. he wasnt the QB then that he is now he was an avg, serviceable QB when he won those SBs. He won those sbs in his 1st, 3rd and 4th years as a starter. Yeah he was a beast! lol. Since he has now become a much better passer he hasnt won dick he also hasnt had as good of a defense either.

- about 15,000 more yards passing
- 99 more touchdowns
- 73 more ints
- 1.1% higher completion percentage

- .5% higher int percentage
- 1.5 lower quarterback rating
- 2 less Super Bowl rings, 3 less Super Bowl appearances

You can't bring Marino into any discussion of "Best Quarterback Ever" if you are comparing him to any modern QB. The rules have changed too much to allow better chances of reception, more yardage and higher scores.
As for the twitter thing, I would love to know how many of those tweets sent were done by some drunk-ass fanboy who probably had some money on the game. It's unfortunate that Kyle Williams has to go thru this, but to be fair, only one mistake made was of his own doing and that was this:

Saying "I hope you drop dead" or "Eat shit and die" are not death threats. The best part is, I saw posts where people were saying fans tweeting he should kill himself was a death threat. How the fuck does that work? If I tell you to kill yourself, and you decide not to, theres no threat.

i wouldn't say it's obvious, it looks to me the ball gets hit at the same time the second foot comes down. it's close, and i think the right call, but it's not obvious.
i didnt mean his foot down was obvious. I mean why they said it was no TD is obvious. I was sayin it to the people asking how it could have possibly been called that way and how its different from the jennings one

i was wrong about thinking everyone would say this. I still think it looked like both feet were down and at the very least it should have been looked at.
Now I also said that Balt lost this game and gave it away and that NE didnt win it they got lucky. So far from what I have seen many have said that and think NE got lucky and the Ravens gave it away.

they are debating it now. they arent sure if the guys meant the fact he had them means he is soft and a clean hit should rattle him, which is possible, or if they were sayin they were head hunting.
i really hope the first way. if they were sayin we know he had concussion so if we hit him hard and clean we can rattle him and shake him up, thats fine. thats part of the game. they were kinda vague in how they said it.
If they were sayin they were tryin to hit him in the head, which i, at least, never saw them tryin to do, or it never seemed in game they were tryin to be dirty, but if thats what they were doing, then its fuckin disgusting.

I don't think they meant it that way because like Snoogs said they did not have a hit near his head.
When you hear them mention the concussions, and wanting to take him out of the game, and saying that Sash did a good job when Williams looked dazed after a hit, it's really hard to view it any other way than they were trying to hurt him.
They certainly accomplished rattling him but I think they were trying to do more than that.

exactly. if you know a guy has bruised ribs its one thing to try and hit him hard knowing he will feel it but when a guy has a fucked up brain and to say you are going after that type of injury you are talking about 2 different situations. they might be legal and both might be dirty but one can hurt a guys season or career the other can shorten his life.

well thats a bit different. when you go to ground you have to hold the ball through going to ground. when you are standing you just need both feet down with control and then its a TD. but he didnt have clear control of the ball when his second foot comes down, so although the play is close, its obvious what has to be called

No state income tax and the ability to buy a house not located in Piscataway.
Honestly I like it better than Chip Kelly. Kelly's offensive schemes as presently constituted were never going to work in the NFL and for a team in the Buccaneers with major discipline issues it was more than a little worrisome that Kelly had allowed his players to run roughshod over his program for the last three years.

Recruits, assistants caught unaware (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/recruiting/football/story/_/id/7506907/rutgers-scarlet-knight-recruits-wait-greg-schiano-never-arrives-meeting)
Greg Schiano was supposed to be at Don Bosco Preparatory School promptly at 8 a.m. Thursday morning to recruit some key prospects.
That never happened.
As scheduled, five Rutgers assistant coaches showed up at the Ramsey, N.J., school, which showcases several highly rated prospects each year. The coaches were focused on securing current commitment Leonte Carroo (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/120242/leonte-carroo), a three-star receiver, and Darius Hamilton (http://espn.go.com/college-sports/football/recruiting/player/_/id/122858/darius-hamilton), a four-star defensive end who is primarily considering the Scarlet Knights and Florida.
"The coaches were kind of shocked," Don Bosco coach Greg Toal said. "They said 'Coach Schiano, he's never late for anything.' "
At first, the coaches thought Schiano might have gotten caught up in another meeting, despite the importance of the Don Bosco appointment.
"They didn't think it was any big deal," Toal said of their initial response. "They didn't know that he was in negotiations or anything like that."
Then, when reports began to surface that Schiano had accepted the head coaching job for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (http://espn.go.com/nfl/team/_/name/tb/tampa-bay-buccaneers), the Rutgers' assistants were caught unaware.
"No one knows where this is going right now," Toal said. "I'm sure it caught a lot of people off guard."
With six days before national signing day, Rutgers suddenly finds itself in an incredible time crush to secure its 2012 class.

yeah that does suck but there is a no win situation for him. if he waits 6 days and lets everyone sign the kids and parents will be pissed if he leaves right after. by leaving now he gives the families a few days to decide if they want to sign somewhere else but that hurts rutgers. so no matter what it was going to suck but he made a decision to go to the nfl and be a head coach. i cant fault a guy for that move.

He gets 5 years guaranteed and more money. Worst case if he sucks he will be fired in three years still collect his money for the next two and then at that time he can either be a coordinator in the pro 's or go back to college.
If it works out and he turns the team around he is a successful pro coach and gets all the perks that come along with it.

Schiano was already using that though. The vast number of guys he gets signed as undrafteds was his big thing. Coaches love to sign RU guys cause they know even if they might be a little less talented, the coach had them alot more ready for the NFL than most NCAA coaches would. He will sit out this year. Like snacks said he will fuck them up with the salary cap next year. I understand your point but it just doesn't make any sense. The guy wants out and you make you team better by dumping him. You keep him and you have a circus that won't end.
Even more reason to dump him. Use Bruce Garkowski, or Daulton, or Tyler Thigpen this year. When you finish up 2 - 14 draft Luck as your QB of the future. If you would have traded Palmer to Seattle or The Skins you pick up and extra second round pick. Right now all Brown has is his dick in his hand
You set the precedent. This is the NFL. When a player demands a trade, you trade him. You dont keep him to make a point while punishing your team and its fanbase in the process. Oh and there is no way he wears a Bengals uniform this year. Even if that means he "retires".
Under contract means dick. I cant wait to see how many stupid Eagles fans start turning on Desean Jackson to "honor his contract". Fuck that. If he takes one play without redoing his deal hes stupid. If I was him Id say Ill honor my contract, once the NFL has to start honoring them.
My argument isn't that Mike Brown is a good owner or anything of that nature, but his stance here is logical and makes sense moving forward with EVERY contract players on his team signs. The value of Palmer too is up bc teams know they have to wow him to move him. It's not only a great stance to take, it may very well get his point out there to others and he'll still eventually trade him for MORE. If he's smart he would make Palmer come to camp first to even have the trade be approved and keep his mouth shut. In a history of shitty moves and logic by Brown, if he plays this out right it'll be a rare good move for him.
Ha! Love looking back at preseason arguments and discussions. As I stated before it happened, this was one move I agreed with even IF it didn't work out like I thought it would.

On the surface it looks iffy, but to me it's not such a bad move since they weren't willing to pay the players needed to get Kolb and are investing in their draft pick. To be honest, good deal in the end. He's a mentor, good stopgap and can win games vet style as they did with Kerry Collins did for a while. He'll bring stability and a vet presence needed in the huddle for the young coach that finally gets to work with his players. Hell, he's gonna be handing off to CJ, so that helps too.

Im so dissapointed the Eagles didnt fucking try and get him. Bob youre right, Haynesworth is gonna kick ass in New England, if for nothing else just to make Shanahan look bad. Between letting him get away, signing Babin instead of going after Ray Edwards, taking forever to trade Kolb and not giving Jackson what he deserves Im officially over Andy Reid. I cant fucking stand him.

Kolb trade done and eagles get a decent return for him, but now Eagles are one Vick injury away from who throwing the ball? I think job one should be getting a nice vet to back him up, Volek?
Chad 85 goes to NE and now needs to get that jersey I'm sure. How much does COC give the guy? MY guess something goofy and 100k!
VY, who the fuck would want him right now? Cincy maybe? They like garbage and it seems to work out well for a little while there and then disaster. The VY/Gradkowski combo would be hilarious for some reason. Oh wait, how about a Vick/Young combo vs having Franzs Kafka holding the clipboard?! Then again, he isn't called the Bohemian Bomber for nothing! Seriously, that name should stick/catch on.
Ha! Nailed the VY thing too, but the Bohemian Bomber would have kept them in the race better in my mind. As I stated above, one Vick injury did fuck the team in the end. That nickname does need to stick too...especially if he can toss it deep!

Former Bengal CB Joseph signs with Texans (much better value per $ vs NA)
This has to mean it's bt SF and NYJ for NA barring any late entrants. I think Houston was smart to get Joseph bc they can't sink so much into one player with all their needs on D. With this addition and Wade, they'll be much improved on D. Wade is one of those easily meant to be coordinators versus HC...you know, like SD's coach currently.
Hit on the Joseph comment, Wade and Houston D, but not NA as he ended up in Philly.

ugh looks like a long season for my Giants.... less depth at O Line..no receiving tight end , less depth at WR .. no name linebackers , a disgruntled Osi and now to add insult to injury.. The Prince broke his foot on the way to Waldorf Astoria...
its gonna be a long season, thank god for Fantasy Football and the soon to be birth of my daughter in October
i thought panic time until hippo said how they suck and they are gonna struggle. Now im celebrating the future Giants SB victory
the giants WILL win the SB this year. You can laugh, but the last time I said that was 2007.
18-0.....1 more to go superbowowowowowowow
The giants are in trouble. The only good thing they did was keep Bradshaw at a cheep price....
I know miami isnt going anywhere either so I might as well stop you there. I think 8-8 for them too would be lucky 7-9 would be more likely. I would be excited if they made it to 9-7 but that wont happen til they get a new coach!
Being honest though, the Giants lost more games in weird ways than most last year. To me they aren't as bad as everyone likes to think, especially since they simply couldn't hold on to the ball. That can be fixed if coached right, and I'm sure it's a focus right now for many key players here. I'm not convinced they'll be out of the picture as much as some here think. In fact, I think they'll have a great shot at a playoff spot, with much of their hopes pending on simply holding on to the ball.
i agree. i think the lockout helps them alot too. for the most part, every single player who will be in a key role for the giants already knows the offense, the coaching staff, the timing with the QB. If they could learn to hold onto a fuckin football, i see no reason why they couldnt win more than the 10 games they won last year.
will they, who knows. its the fuckin giants. they will prob start 7-1 and finish 9-7
Are you fucking kidding me with this shit?!?! The Giants deserve to finish last with how much they are fucking up this offseason. Steve Smith was only our Wes Welker, the guy you could count on to catch a lot of passes and gain a lot of yards to keep us moving down the field.
Sure, people can say he was hurt and they didn't want to take a chance. Well guess what? So was Wes Welker and look how that turned out.
...
As for the giants, they have plenty of WRs and Cruz should step in fine.
It's just too fucking funny and I can't stop reading all this. How the fuck did this start?! Yet it is awesome to see some live up to their legend (Hippo) and others make great calls.

Yea I think he being from Jersey is the only reason they chose Nicks over him.
Hell, the main times he has gotten in trouble while in the NFL was when he has been back in Jersey.
Nicks is a really good WR, but talent wise, Britt is better.
But Nicks seems like a good guy and Britt would have been a disaster here.

Outgoing Rutgers coach Greg Schiano owes the school $800,000 in buyout and loan payments, according to Bloomberg News.
His contract calls for a $500,000 buyout, and there is $300,000 remaining on a home loan that also was arranged through his contract.
Schiano was officially introduced as the new coach of the Tampa Bay Bucs on Friday. He reportedly signed a five-year deal worth around $15 million.

If they dont get some fucking speed receiver in the draft you can say goodbye to all those Macklin and Celek over the middle receptions. Watch some of the game tape, the fucking safeties play him 30 yards deep.
Babin did well though. And the reason I wanted Haynesworth was because he would be cheap and the risk /reward was worth it. If he could play youd have had a gamer. As shown, once he showed he couldnt play you cut him and lose peanuts. I stand by that statement.

Russell Wilson didn't look great in the Senior Bowl game itself... but no one really gives a shit about the "game". It's all about what they do in the practices that week, and from all reports, Wilson looked pretty good.
I usually make it out to at least one of the practices, but work didn't allow it this year.
I don't know why I'm rooting for this kid so much, but even after he snubbed Auburn for Wisconsin, I've become a Russell Wilson fan. I was originally thinking he might slip to the 3rd or 4th round, but I think he improved his value this last week, and there's still the combines to show the skills. First round might be too LOFTY of an expectation, but maybe second.
And between his bowl game and the Senior Bowl, Kirk Cousins seems to be impressing as well.

So who shouldn't be there in his wake? Bc to me Graham was a NO BRAINER and Gonzalez was ridiculous and a long time fav/great still playing at an extremely high level. He was ranked 3rd in the NFC in yards and had 18 more catches and 64 yards and 2 more tds. Graham makes them all look silly in every category. Yet if anyone got the snub, it was Witten, not Celek and the ~5 other guys with similar stats at the position. Well let's be fair, he was clearly toss first and run here and there after progressing through reads or pressured badly. That year he didn't run much outside of near the end zone too. He only had like 250 yards on the ground all year (~17 yards a game) and in that SB he torched SD in the air to the tune of 6 tds.

10th in Passing D, 16th in rushing D, 14th in take/giveaways and 8th overall. Which truly shows how worthless some stats are.
They padded those D stats in late games against dogshit offensive teams like Washington, Jets and Miami. When they played teams with some offense like New England, Buffalo and Atlanta they got SHREDDED. Also, come 4th quarter they couldnt hold a lead if their lives depended on it.
They have 3 of the best cover corners in the league on their team, and they put them in zone coverage with linebackers and safeties that cant play. Then get mad when they tackle like shit, when tackling has never been part of their game.
Youve got a D line coach in Washburn who actually gets in the face of the offensive coordinator on live TV and still keeps his job. He gets pressure on the QB but refuses to budge from the wide 9 to better help hide the weaknesses on D. He actually tells the coordinator what defense they have to play. What a fucking joke.

art was the guy who started it, but he is so old there is no way thats his daughter, so he musta given it to his son who owns it now.

Listening to Ron talk to someone about the Super Bowl and QBs. Didnt get to hear the whole conversation but walked in to hear Ronnie saying "So Marino should just be out there selling pencils..." and started cracking the fuck up.

INDIANAPOLIS (AP) The NFL is increasing the number of Thursday night games so more of its teams can play in prime time.
Commissioner Roger Goodell said that there will be Thursday night games on the NFL Network from the second to the 15th week of the season, giving all of the league's teams a chance to appear in prime time on some outlet.
Its a smart move, helps the NFL network.
They should put the shittier games on early in the year so you don't know they're shitty yet.
EDIT
I will not post again until after the bowl.... All those 4's just freaked me out.... Let go get number 4!!!! Go G-men!!!!!!!!!!! SEE-YAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
