No HBox, thats a silly analogy. All im saying is for all the talk about how he sucks, and i think we can all agree, no he isnt what a qb SHOULD be. He wins. Its unexplainable. So you cant look at his throwing motion like you're an advanced scout and act like he doesn't belong on the field. He's doing this at the pro level. The Jets supposedly have a good D, they couldn't stop him on a final drive either.

How were they when Orton was QB? The D isnt on the field nonstop so theyre playing well. Not saying theyre along for the ride, but clearly this team believes in HIM.
Fox's d took a little time to get going.
it's amazing when you look at the schedule too, as Denver might only have one tough game left. 3 of 4 at home and their only road game left against the sinking ship that is buf (injured too). NE is the only good team left, and even Tebow might be able to throw on them! Yet BB will surely find a way to destroy this kid and I can't wait. Normally Chicago would be a concern, but now they are down their starting qb and rb.

This is what I was thinking.
I mean certain teams just look like they don't know how to and/or don't want to win.
That's how Washington looked.
They had a few chances to take leads and settled for FGs.
How many fuckin' times does an NFL QB get to have his passes batted back into his face ?
For all the talk about Tebox not being a prototypical QB I know that Grossman is supposed to be one and he sucks whole bags of dicks.
Contract Buffalo and Washington !!!
wait, grossman is a prototypical qb!?

Ryan Leaf was a great prototypical qb. He won 4 games as a starter.
no qb is great in any fucking way when they can't spell their own name
he too was NOT a great prototypical qb, he has athletic skills for the position
different altogether

now the jet's D is good?! i think even douchebats would dispute this in 2011
you really need to look at who won those games and who they were against
not only were the d he faced putrid, so were his stats minus one drive or two that the D allowed to be so important in the first place

all one had to do is talk to his team, coach or the player himself and you'd know he was a fucking trainwreck
my buddy was in that same draft class and we talked from the combine. he literally told me as an O lineman that I better hope Indy takes Leaf, bc Manning is MILES ahead of him and Leaf is as dumb as they come. not good at qb even if you could toss a ball 100 yards on a line.

How do you like that Clay Matthews song?
If there is a guy I would most credit for the Broncos resurgence its not Tebow. It's the guy who didn't play today, Von Miller. We just saw how this defense plays without him today.
And without that D Tebow's typical 17 points a game would have the Broncos in the toilet.

Is that is a counter argument?
It's funny though, his career completion percentage is almost the same as Tebow's, actually a point higher. Tebow doesn't throw as many interceptions, which is something I give him credit for, he doesn't turn the ball over, but then again, they don't let him throw enough in the first place.
Or it's grit. Tebow is a gritty player. He just gets things done. Man's got a belly full of guts.
But obvioulsy he throws enough to help the team win which is his job.
Where does it say a QB has to throw for 300 yards in order to lead his team ?
There's a magic number that a team has to throw in order to be validated by you ?
It's not about wins it's about the number of pass attempts in a win ?
Fuckin' Sanchez threw the ball more than Tebow and still didn't get as many yards.
Oh but wait I guess it's unfair that Tebow's receivers were faster or got more open.
You sound like Rex Ryan when you bitch about tebow.
Fat Rex keeps saying " we're gonna win ' and when he doesn't there's nothing lost but the minute they get lucky enough to win he's a genius.
Rooting for Tebow to lose every week, and using your analysis to say why he's going to lose, and then he doesn't leaves you w/o a valid argument. But then when he finally does start losing you'll be " I told you so. "
It's a joke. A team winning 6 of 7 game is important in any manner and it shouldn't matter who the QB is.
At the very least the team believes in what's he's doing. If he sucked as bad as you think wouldn't his team mail it in ?

Oh and good news, Turner's call on Dielman was right on that he's fine. The guy who was left in the fucking game and then not even appropriately evaluated by the team after only to suffer a grand mal seizure....yah, well, he's not contemplating retirement early.
Perhaps it's bc Spanos, AJ Smith and Norv in the future just isn't acceptable to him. I'm not surprised even a severely concussed can see this.

i was in the spoon camp about it not really meaning much that the pats went 11-5 without brady. But then I watched Matt Cassel play in Kansas City. He really, really sucks. And the coaching in indy is terrible and in NE its really good. But that is actually the point.
I really dont think brady would be that good without the coaching. so based on what i know now, taking out the coaches and just going Brady vs Manning, it shows manning is better. In my opinion.

I've posted the comps and dissolved all the statistical outliers people falsely think prove Manning is better. Bottom line is they are ridiculously close in terms of stats and the only thing that separates them is rings. So yah, it's up in the air overall but logically Manning loses based on the HUGE elephant in the room. go back to the argument in the NFL thread to see them, bc it's really not worth doing all over again bc snacks thinks a meme is completely true and inside it probably helps him believe more in Marino being the best w/o a ring. bottom line is, it's debatable at worst yet some think THIS year proves Manning is better without him even taking a snap bc Cassel did well. all it proves is indy's backup and coach are shit, bc they have plenty of weapons and DAN FUCKING ORLOVSKY proved it last week. As for Cassel, he won the AFC West the same way he won in NE, so how bad is he. Tebow wins in Denver, so how bad were Indy's coaches qbs?

NE went 10-5 without Brady. Brady won the first game of the year. And most qbs would put up a few wins against the teams on their schedule that year.
Let's run them down, and remember it's 2008.
W1 Jets - finished 9-7
W2 49ers - finished 7-9 in the NFC WEST
W3 Broncos - finished 8-8 in the AFC WEST
W4 Rams - finished 2-14 in the NFC West
W5 Bills - finished 7-9
W6 Dolphins - finished 11-5 and won the division (this should tell anyone how bad the AFC East schedule was!)
W7 Seahawks - finished 4-12 in the NFC WEST
W8 Raiders - finished 5-11 in the AFC WEST
W9 Cardinals - finished 9-7 in the NFC WEST
W10 Bills - finished 7-9

NE was also coming off a 16-0 season they had the toughest schedule going into the season and the AFC east had 2 11-5 teams, a 9-7 team and 7-9 team actually one of the tougher div and the afc was much tougher then the nfc that year.

Facts are Indy has gone 0-12 and NE went 10-5 or 11-5 how about we say they went 10.5 -5 without Brady. Those are facts!
as for the schedule, i said going into the season they had the toughest schedule, you never know how it will turn out and at the end of the day NE still beat playoff teams and went 11-5 on the year. Doesnt matter if they played Jax every game which btw INDY plays twice this year. NE was also coming off a 16-0 season they had the toughest schedule going into the season

What I find most comical about this entire argument is why you seem to defend Brady and jump at others for having a difference of opinion then yours. All I did was agree with snoogans picture which is fact based. There is no arguing that NE went 11-5 and Indy is now 0-12. Thats a fact! yet you then have to turn it into something else. Why cant others have a different opinion then yours and let it be? Why must you go into attack mode and try to shit down their opinion or likes because it doesnt fit yours? It amazes me, this happens every time.
We can think whatever we want and you can keep saying you have facts to back this or that but we will never agree. What we have to agree on is record and the records are provable facts so to me there is nothing left to argue except ones personal opinion on the subject. But those opinion basically mean nothing except to those who agree. You can like Brady, thats fine. I like Manning and to me there isnt a question on who is the better QB.
You can bring up Marino all you want it has nothing to do with him. Marino winning or not winning a SB will never change my opinion of his and to be honest most people still rank him among the greats without a ring because he was that good. Validating Manning doesnt help Marinos case and I dont do it for that reason I do it because Manning imho is the better QB. That is it nothing more and nothing less. I know you bring Marino into it to try and be funny or to get under my skin but it doesnt bother me.

Hardly snacks, just topical statements. Notice shaun said it's his op and i get that and still put out my bullet points again on why its at least up for debate. Why the fuck won't a coach show any balls at all? It's just giving up. Why punt inside the 50 when the other team can't do dick on offense? Then they did it again at two minutes in the 2nd half. Ok Im gonna explain it like this.
No you cant even compare QBs like Hostetler or Dilfer to Marino because their career numbers are SOOOO lopsided.
But when comparing QBs with similar numbers, especially when they competed against each other often, the number of wins is the biggest topper. And no win is bigger then a Super Bowl win.
Not only did Brady win more Super Bowls then Manning, but usually he beat Manning to get there. Much like Montana did to Elway and Marino.
Also, Terry Bradshaw was fucking underrated as a QB because his defense was just incredibly better then anyone else in the leagues back then.

I will just comment on whats bold to prove you are wrong. Marino has 21,000 more yard then Montana and 150 more TDs (250 y/g compared to 210). So the argument that you are going by "QBs with similar numbers" isnt true. Their TEAMS played each other, entire teams not just the QBs . SF had much better total package teams. Miami had no running game and no defense. SF had 1 of the better defenses during their 10 year run, great rbs and great wrs / te's. Also at a time when the NFC dominated the AFC with what 10 or 12 straight SB wins? Oh lets not forget SF also had 1 of the greatest coaches ever who changed the way the game was played!

Simpsons did it!
I meant CJ already did it!

Yet if polled from players and football experts from back then and now none of them would put Marino as the better QB. Yards are a fucking joke. This isnt fantasy football. In the last 2 weeks I think 3 QBs put up 400 yard games, Im pretty sure all of them lost. I know 1 of them did definitely.

This story came up on WIP today. Witnesses who were right there have said its complete bullshit. Yea she cried, but it wasnt from people harrassing her. Most of them didnt know she was Casey Matthews fiance or even said anything to her. From what the people in her section said, Mathews got beat on an end around play by Brandon Jacobs of all people, a guy with the speed of my grandmother, and the fans started booing and just screaming shit out like "You fucking suck Mathews" and hearing that made her cry.
Im betting thats not the story she told him though.
Fuck him anyway. Some of the guys on this team like him, Jason Kelce etc. need to shut the fuck up about the fans when they are playing like such dogshit. IN PHILLY WE DONT CHEER YOU WHEN YOU PLAY LIKE A BUNCH OF FAGGOTS. Why is that so hard to understand for these guys??? Funny thing is, you never hear guys like Brent Celek, Cullen Jenkins or Shady McCoy bitching about the fans, and those are the guys that actually show the fuck up to play every week.

exactly and there has been at least 1 maybe 2, 500 yard games this year and Henne and Cam Newton (a fucking rookie) both have 400 yard passing games.
the fact that in 25 years no one got even slightly close to that record til the new rules. the closest anyone got before brees did 2 years ago and before the rules changed was Warner in 2001 with 4830 yards which is a legitimate try because these new shitty def rules werent in place. Before that, it was Marino himself in 1986 and before that the record was Fouts in 1981 with 4800 which was the record Marino beat by almost 400 yards with no rule changes or help.
So in 27 years since Marino broke the record only 1 guy under similar rules came even close and that was Warner in 2001. Since the rules started to change around 04 or 05 there have been 6 guys who have come within 400 yards plus at least 3 more this year!
Brees will be close again but none of them are locks. Early on around week 10 or so there were 8 guys on pace to break Marinos rec. Now its down to 3 and Brees needs to avg 265 yards/game, Brady needs around 290 per game and Rodgers needs around 310 per game. So all 3 can do it and Brees is by far in the best position but 1 bad game by any one of them can prevent it. Brees will really be trying after coming up a few yards short a couple of years ago.
Rodgers is only 13 TDs away from the TD record. That will be tough but hes got a shot he needs just over 3 TDs a game. I hope he gets it!

again a top 10 defense now isnt what a top 10 defense was back then. meaning green bays #9 defense from last year might have been a 25th ranked defense back in the 80s or 90s.
GB was ranked 9th among 26 or 27 shit defenses. SD was ranked 1st last year right? how good was their defense? please its not even the same. Lets compare SDs def vs Balt of 2000 or Chicago of 85. yeah they are very close and comparable. Fucking stupid argument right there.

Jesus Snacks, things change and having a top 10 d with the offenses each of the teams epo listed is killer. Sd was ranked 1 in both passing and rushing in yardage, not scoring. Also, they allowed teams to take it to mid-field on almost every fucking kickoff/punt, and to the house almost every week too. Try looking deeper than just stats. There isn't one fucking person that actually watches football that put SD as the best d if they paid attention at all.
Not one person compared the D for two eras either. Yet I LOVE how you pull an anomaly like SD last year and compare them to arguably the best D's EVER! You honestly don't think that's a little extreme an example...especially since Marino just started in 83 and retired before 2000? I guess that's semantics, but there is a point in there in how you selected your d to use in the example, and then SD of all d's for our era.

I agree with this thats my point. Showing that GB was ranked 9th last year didnt prove anything about having a good def wins championships becuase they didnt have a good def compared to what was considered a good def in years past, that was my point.
I didnt just randomly pull SD out and throw them in the argument. I compared the def because we were comparing QBs from different eras why was that not good to bring up? Because it was SD and they did shit? I dont see why that wasnt relevant to you or acceptable to you! Maybe if you brought it up in a discussion it would be!
I was using the fact that they were ranked #1 last year which meant shit. Def now a days means nothing because no one plays it and we were comparing it to back then when def was important and not handcuffed by stupid rules. Marino played from 83 -1999 so its not semantics. Did Marino play against the bears def? Do most people fell that they or the 2000 balt def were the best ever? My point was look at what he did against the bears now lets see rodgers actually do that against a def as good or similar. wont happen and cant happen because you can and will never be able to see defenses that good again.
I just love when you bring up comparisons everything is fine and we should all go along but when others do its not good and they need to be nitpicked. Do you think a 9th ranked def compares to a 9th ranked def 15 years ago? Of course not. There will always be a team ranked 1st but 1st in todays football means shit.

You can't hit a qb once they're in the slide. It's probably impossible to change your momentum, but the refs will call that every time
The problem is they explained it was called for a forearm to the head which was clearly nowhere near his head. The refs this whole game have been horrendous with these roughing calls. This new pussy NFL is really fucking annoying. These guys are the size or grizzly bears and they expect them to play like like it's faggot flag football.
Also, I'm playing Gronkowski in fantasy playoffs and I'm convinced him and Brady are fucking. I hope he breaks his leg Theismann style and never plays again after how he's Fucking my team like this today.

wow, I've NEVER seen anything like this!
how is Haley not tossed yet is beyond me?
he really should just leave
this drive is completely penalty driven! (81 yards and no real good offensive play)
*until this td to plex
Those pass interference calls were kind of bullshit.

Youve got to be kidding me calling a personal foul on London Fletcher against Brady. They really go WAY overboard trying to protect him
you should have seen the one on Sanchez, he was bumped while releasing...15 yards!

The Pats don't have a defense. They have Vince Wilfork and 10 guys trying to let Brady rest a little.

to give you an example of the bs going on, now Palko got smoked with a lowered head and laid out after a toss with plenty of time to pull up, no call
so bad that the chiefs got another 15 yarder against them bc McClain yelled at the ref who just calls it one way. so now he AND their coach have 15 yarders against them for calling out the refs. I honestly have never seen it this bad and I've seen plenty bs against the Brady/Mannings of the world (meaning when you play the NFL wonder boys). Here the game is over and it's only getting worse!? I don't get it? Someone bet the over and know KC can't score even if you put them on the 1?

this about sums it all up
now we deal with different levels with different refs and any time you give refs more power you suffer

Hey Titans, you might want to put a man on Colston. He's ran by your defense twice now

Is this NE qb coach out of his mind? Keep your mouth shut. Brady isnt some 2nd year player.
