wow do they suck Vick's ass still!

I don't get it. He's a QB, not a RB and sucks at it. That was a nice pass to the GB defender though. I take it all back.

WOW!

What a dumb play by Philly special teams.

Watching this game made me realize what a scumbag Andy Reid is. At the end of the first half that LB Stewart Bradley took a head injury and actually lost his shit trying to get to the sidelines.

On the next series Andy Reid let him go back in.

If I were a player I wouldn't trust that son of a bitch with my health.

Vick actually threw some nicely placed (short on purpose I think) on that drive. Got to give him some cred, nice looking drive where he actually stayed in the pocket and made some throws as opposed to looking to run all day.

People get hurt and even have their careers ended in preseason. Sehorn is a great example. They want 18 games, but reduce the preseason to two or three games.

I finally saw the replay of that play in the Lions' game and that was totalt bullshit.

How, and why, did that even become a rule ?

The guy caught it, put 2 feet down ( independently ), then a leg down and finally a hand, all while holding the ball clearly with control, but then he places the ball down to brace himself and that's not a catch ?

Insanity.

Cowherd had a great point saying that getting bearly the nose of the football 1/8 of an inch over the goaline, even if it gets slapped out of your hand, counts as a TD but that catch doesn't.

Flip side is that idiot Bayless was saying that the WR was getting up ready to celebrate and that's why the rul is good.

I don't care if his celebration included setting the ref on fire after the catch you can penalize him for that but don't say that's not a TD.

JimBeam
09-13-2010, 08:46 AM
Now I have to disagree w/ Cowherd.

He was playing some audio of Randy Moss " complaining " about his role on the team and then was saying how Welker was now the key to that offense and not Moss and that's why Moss was pissed.

He then said Welker was great becaue he has good hands, he's fast and he goes over the middle.

What he failed to mention is that the only reason Welker is catching anything is because teams are putting defensive backs on Moss and using LBs to cover Welker.

If he thinks that Welker is a #1 receiver without Moss he should quit now.

that was my exact argument. if a QB does a reach over and it gets slapped out of his hand its not a fumble because once the ball breaks the goal line the play is dead and its a TD. That was one of the worse calls I have ever seen in my life!

hahaha missed that.....i was surprised by that game....i thought we were in for a long one the way we looked in the first half.

and seriously, can we please make a new stat for interceptions? Catchable passes batted up in the air by a receiver because of poor mechanics that get picked off should not go against the QB.....Eli has 3 picks attached to him in the first game and none of them were on him....sure, a little high, but the receiver should have adjusted.

why do we have to assume the opposite be true for the rule to work? Besides, there isn't a negative statistic that gets attributed to anyone when a player tips the ball to his team mate and a catch is made.

the guy who catches the ball gets credit for the TD or the completion.....the QB is attempting a pass and it counts as a completion or a TD...its what he was trying to do....when its a terribly thrown ball, the QB has the INT attributed to his bad throw......but a catchable ball that gets picked shouldn't be attributed to the QB if the receiver effs it up and causes the pick.

who's talking about the DB? again, if what you're describing happens, no body gets a negative stat. besides, i'm not talking about when its thrown poorly.....if its a terrible ball and gets picked then yea, its an interception attributed to the QB.....none of those passes that Eli had picked yesterday were bad passes.....they were poor attempts made to catch it and the result was an interception. when that happens, the receiver should have the INT attributed to him.

and, commenting on that chick reporter......if she wants to be taken seriously maybe she shouldn't get all tarted up like she's hitting the clubs while shes at work. i saw the pic in the paper today....she's got extremely tight jeans on and her tits are all pressed together and heaving out of her shirt which is cut above the belly button. if i saw her walking around the locker room with a press pass, i would have assumed someone hired a strippergram. she actually refers to herself as, "the hottest sports reporter in mexico". this is a non-issue being drummed up by a selfish woman who wants to dress slutty to get men to notice her while shes supposed to be working.

More strange animosity towards the woman. Did you read her comments about the incident? She seems to be trying to downplay the whole thing.

Again, someone wearing a sexy outfit (are tight jeans really a big deal?) doesn't justify the complete unprofessionalism shown by some of the Jets players and coaches.

He threw it poorly..

And what about when a receiver makes a great catch despite a shitty throw ?

As far as the female reporter isn't she the one that showed up in a wedding dress to interview and ask Brady to marry her ?

How fuckin' professional was she at that point ?

then dont dress like you are in a club. I dont get how anyone can defend her. She is in an enviroment where she is the one who should be professional first. When she walks in like a hooker then her first impression is what it is. This is the same girl who asked Tom Brady to marry her at the Super Bowl during media day. Shes not a professional, doesnt act as one or dress as one.

A female can dress any way they want. They could walk around half naked that doesnt mean they are asking to be raped or anything like that. But they also arent asking for respect. They are asking for attention. If you dont want certain type of attention dont put yourself in those positions. I have zero sympathy for her.

If I was a reporter and went to interview Oprah and walked in with a tight tank top with shorts would I get respect? No then she shouldnt either.

Men have become so apologetic towards everything women do. No matter if they are wrong or right so many men with defend them. Stop making excuses for her.

Oh and to answer the question of that was my wife, daughter or mother doing it how would I feel? None would put themselves in that positions but if they did I would talk to them and explain that she was wrong to expect respect when she shows none for herself.

Erin Andrews, Rachel Nichols, Michelle Tafoyah - they are all professionals. They dress professionally. They act professionally. They are attractive. But they are professional. Hence, they are treated like professionals.

A little nugget that is being ignored in this whole fucking mess is that the lead Jets beat reporter for New Jersey's biggest newspaper is female. and an attractive female. Imagine Kim Jones' younger, cuter sister.

I would agree w/ you but there are problems w/ that thought when you look at Ryan and the Jets.

Firstly this is a guy who cried about the possibility of not making the playoffs last year and only got in because the Colts allowed them to get in. How confident are you when you cry that you won't make it ?

Football players that win it all or are potential HOFers can have swagger. Not a collection of guys who even in parts haven't won much.

Lastly The University Of Miami had swagger because they won mutiple titles over a period of time. The Jets on the other hand haven't won one in 40+ years.

They're more like an old fashioned Army college football team than Miami.

The NFL isn't just a group of guys hanging out playing a kids game. These are multi-million dollar athletes, and this woman is a professional reporter simply trying to do her job.

Completely unprofessional and an embarrassment. NO ONE should be treated like that at work because of their appearance or their sex and the fact that the DB Coach encouraged it is awful. I can almost guarentee he will lose his job over this.

I've yet to hear any details on this to see if it was really that bad, what exactly did they do? Most of it being reported was just some minimal flirty type stuff, was there more? Mind you, I'm going by what their flagship station is reporting (ESPN 1050).

I'm with you.

They have annoyed me so much w/ their shit I'm even gonna pull for the God-less Patriots in the 2 games.

I had usually save all of my hate for those queers but not this season.

Maybe if the Jets come out to 0-9 I can go back to hating New England.

But didn't you just hear? Norv Turner is one of the greatest play callers in the NFL!

He's an offensive coordinator, like Wade is a D coord. It's that simple, they can't handle the other side of the ball and the whole team aspect whatsoever with supremely talented teams.

underdog
09-13-2010, 08:26 PM
He was playing some audio of Randy Moss " complaining " about his role on the team and then was saying how Welker was now the key to that offense and not Moss and that's why Moss was pissed.

He then said Welker was great becaue he has good hands, he's fast and he goes over the middle.

What he failed to mention is that the only reason Welker is catching anything is because teams are putting defensive backs on Moss and using LBs to cover Welker.

If he thinks that Welker is a #1 receiver without Moss he should quit now.

I totally forgot about your weird Welker hatred. Did he rape your dad or something?

You're right though. Welker would be shit without Moss. There has never been a white slot receiver who puts up insane yards in the NFL before. Never.

Same reason Phillips did. They're heading into a lockout and they don't want to have entirely news systems when they get back.

That doesnt explain how they got the jobs to begin with. Along with guys like Dave Wandstedt and Rich Kotite. Proven bums that repeatedly got outcoached yet just kept getting hired off the coaching carousel. I never understood it. Id take an unknown coordinator over a guy thats coached 10 years with no playoff success or a history of getting outcoached.
