and he is also their greatest QB ever. I guess Philly fans are so used to winning super bowls and championships that they can be arrogant. Oh wait sorry we are talking about philly right? My mistake they are one of the worse sports city's in the country and Im not saying that because their fans are assholes but because they have 4 major sports franchise and never win anything. But lucky for all of us they now won a World Series and we get to hear 50 years of wanting to brag finally come out!

I always find it amazing how Eagles fans shit on McNabb for "not winning the Super Bowl" yet he's the only fucking reason they made it in 2004.

Let's not forget his QB rating for the divisional/championship games were both over 110 without Terrell Owens. McNabb proceeded to have an average Super Bowl and T.O. immediately threw him under the bus.

History is funny like that.

Again I dont get why its so important to fans of other cities that we love Donovan McNabb. What did you guys co-sign a loan for this fucking guy? He got cheered here forever, but alot of city doesnt like his personality. Why is that hard to understand? He gets his feeling hurt. He whines. He talented as all hell but hes not a leader. These are traits that are not going to get you love in Philly. Sorry. And Im not making this stuff up. This comes from former teammates. Not just TO but guys like Ike Reese, Jeremiah Trotter and Hugh Douglas.

You can act like McNabb carried that team to the Super Bowl all you want. But the bottom line is TO turned this offense from good to great. He brought swagger and confidence to a team that even though had made it to 3 NFC title games, didnt have any. Clinching home field throughout the playoffs by Week 13 had alot to do with TO and alot to do with the Eagles making to the Super Bowl. Sorry but McNabb is not getting all the credit for that.

Its like Mike Schmidt in the 70s. He was a great player but didnt have the personality or leadership to win a title. Then Pete Rose walked in. Ask either of them and they both will tell you Pete Rose pushed Mike Schmidt to become a champion. Thats why years later Pete is just as beloved if not more then Schmidt is in this city.

Again if you guys love him so much, call your GM and ask HIM to get McNabb to come play for YOUR team. The opinions here arent gonna change. By the way, Matt Schaub is the greatest quarterback ever to play for Houston. Does that mean they should keep him on the team until hes ready to retire or are they allowed to go get someone else if they feel hes not getting the job done without having fans of other teams cry about it?

So wait TS, swagger changed this team to get to the SB but couldn't be enough to win it all. He was the leader that led them to the SB even though he never played in the playoffs? TO doesn't do shit without McNabb and he was the WR McNabb never fucking had. It's that fact that made the team that much better, just as ADDING Rose to Schmidt put the Phils over the top versus coming up short in the end. It's an additive effect and I guess the first guy there suffers by the myopic short memory filled Philly fan base in the end. Clinching by week 13 and all the other championship games DEFINITELY included McNabb, while TO jumped on a good ship as the missing piece for a shot to win. Sorry, but TO is not getting the credit ALONE for that, McNabb was HUGE in those years before TO with dogshit, and even bigger with TO that year.

Pat White got the shit kicked out of him during a late season appearance. Knocked the fuck out concussion. He was not a big fan of becoming a WR before because he didn't want to get laid out going over the middle, and when he was told he had to convert or not be in the NFL anymore, he said fuck it and went back to baseball.

Concussions are not something to fuck around with. Wayne Chrebet basically admitted on the air a few years ago he knows he's fucked in the head because of them.

Sports teams seem to be putting more onus on them lately. Jason Witten looks like he might be ok and play.

I'm going with 2 tds for Finley and 2 more for Jackson!

I'm gonna go with Devin Aromashodu getting them all. As i will not be playing him this week.

Without TO theres no way they get home field throughout the playoffs and I dont give a fuck what anyone says, that was HUGE in getting us into the Super Bowl that year. Considering we played 2 dome teams in Minnesota and Atlanta, in 2 of the coldest games Ive ever experienced in 30 years of going to Eagles games. But Im not giving him all the credit, Im just not gonna sit back while people act like he had nothing to do with it because he was hurt in the playoffs. Without him that season, I doubt they go to the bowl.

And thats another point. "He got booed at the draft". Get the fuck over it. Every year I see guys get booed at the draft! Every fucking year! They dont fucking cry about it for years and years and years. Especially considering like right now, there was a divide in Eagles fans that did want him. How come those fans get no credit? How come they dont count when you say he was never given a fair shake. A fair shake? Are you fucking serious? After 2001 Philly fans treated McNabb like he walked on water. Whats your next fraud point? We threw snowballs at Santa Claus? You sound like the faggot ESPN announcers that love attacking the Philly fans without knowing what they are talking about.

And Epo, Aaron Rodgers may be a HOF quarterback by the end of his career, but right now hes still behind McNabb, Jaworski, and Cunningham. If next week his leg gets Joe Theismanned he goes from Bart Starr to Don Majkowski.

In Week 2, Clay Matthews had 3 sacks and destroyed Trent Edwards. Edwards was then benched and lost his job.

In Week 3, Clay Matthews and the Green Bay Packers face Jay Cutler. I wonder what will happen?

Eli Manning is retarded.

First off, Nicks had another ball hit his hands and end up in teh defense hands, so eli now has 4 BS picks. But then the second drive, after gettin to the 3, eli escapes pressure and then while gettin pulled down thinks its a good idea to left handed free throw style shoot the ball to boss. It naturally gets picked off. of course it does.

I read somewhere that the CBS doesn't trust Gus because they are afraid if something "bad" happens, like a national tragedy during the game, he wouldn't be able to handle it professionally. They apparently make up for this in the fact that he's one of the most well compensated talents CBS has... they don't want him to be on the #1 team, but they don't want him going anywhere else.

Andy Reid is the man. He sees who is how and who has more talent and makes the call. Vick is a beast much better then what Kolb would have done. While watching that game I was thinking how great Vick looks/ He looks like the QB the NFL has always wanted him to be. He is showcasing his arm and staying in the pocket. But has the speed and athleticism that defenses cant keep up with.

Look at his #'s: 17/31 for 291 yards and 3 TD's No INT's, 4 rushes for 30 yards and 1 TD

Beast!
The best part about this is every time Vick does well or Reid makes a great coaching move it slaps the Philly fans in the face. You must be retarded. You just dont get it. There isnt one person out there that thought Kolb wouldve played a better game then Vick right now. Nobody. Although I have no doubt Kolb wouldve had a good day and also gotten a win as Jacksonville blows.

Say the Eagles go 9-7 or 10-6 this year with Vick as QB the whole way. Then they get to the playoffs and lose in the 1st or 2nd round. How would you rate the season? As a success? Yea, those of us against the benching, would not. Google the words "football team rebuilding" and maybe youll fucking get it.

Although what I heard on the ESPN pregame did make me feel better about it. Basically saying alot of what we thought may be possible in this thread, that Andy sat down and talked to him, explained that putting him behind that line would hurt his career rather then help him learn, and that hes still going to be the QB of this team, once he builds him a O Line. Thats why they kept showing him throughout the game cheering Vick on, as he said after the meeting Vick had his full endorsement.

But anyone pounding their chests that the old Vick is already back is either delusional or retarded. Not saying he definitely isnt or cant be, but he just beat 2 of the worst teams in the NFL. While I still root for the guy every week because he is an Eagle, I dont know if hes going to look that fantastic once they play some real teams (mop up time against GB doesnt count).

1. Detroit is fucking garbage. FUCK-ING GARBAGE. Youll see this week when they come crashing down to Earth. Well see how good that offense is against a real defense.

Like I said.
skeet, try to do me a favor and follow me on this. Throw out the teams that Vick played. Forget that for a minute, cause in Atlanta, he also played alot of dogshit teams.

Just look at it this way for right now: Vick ran 4 times. He threw 31. Regardless of who he is playing, he drops back now, looks through his reads, and then runs if he has to. In ATL, he would look at 1 guy, then run if he was covered. Whatever you wanna say about the competition, Vick is playing QB better than he ever has in his entire life. He is actually playing like a QB.

id also like to add, fuck it, im rooting for Vick.

Ordinarily, I would never because he is an Eagle. But i mean jesus, the Giants are so fuckin bad does it even matter? Its not like I need to worry that Vick is gonna own us in some big game. Giants arent going anywhere, and I have been a fan of Vick since his first game in college, so I hope he continues to play well

I have never hated the Philly fans but lately listening to sports radio and reading the internet Im now on board with the majority of the sports fans when I say they are the worst sports fans in the country!

yeah...you know, coming from a guy that was a fan of his when he played for my team (the Falcons)....he's gonna kickass till he gets that big contract, then he's gonna lay down. Trust me, don't get excited. He get knocked hard once and he's gonna get big eyed again like he did in Atlanta.

skeet, try to do me a favor and follow me on this.

Why do you say I hate the guy? Im one of the very few people in this city that was NOT mad when they signed him. Not to mention, I also just mentioned in my last post that not only am I rooting for him, but that I feel better about the move after hearing some of the ESPN analysts explaining conversations they had this week with Kolb and Reid. AND hes also the reason Im 2-1 in your fantasy league.

What I dont get is why is this a "slap in the face" to Eagles fans that didnt want him to start? If they go 10-6, make the playoffs, lose in the 2nd round, and he signs with Cleveland next year, guess what? The 2010 season is a complete waste. The people that didnt want to see him start had a good reason. We were all told he would basically be gone next year. If a QB isnt gonna be on your team, and because of other weaknesses youre a longshot for winning a Super Bowl, then theres no point in starting him.

Either way I root for my team always, no matter what. But Im also a fan of the game of football. Thats why its ridiculous to suck this guys cock when he has yet to beat even an average team, let alone a good one. Youll see Eagles fans pounding their chests this week...those are the ones that are complete homers and dont know shit about the actual game of football. The people that know the game know Vicks playing great but he hasnt had any real tests yet.

thats the first time i have seen you say he is playing great. Its like you almost, up til now, wouldnt acknowledge he made plays without sayin it was only cause the team sucks. it was like you didnt care that he was still making plays HE never made before, making QB plays and playing smarter. Brees hasnt played HOF defenses and doesnt have the numbers vick has. shitty or not, he is playin QB better than anyone right now. Period, end of story. Ill be the first to say I dont want a running QB. And yes sorry but running QBs happen to all be black QBs. Running QBs dont win Super Bowls. Pocket passers do. Now that Detroit game he was running because he was running for his life. I even said that he was hit 17 times and if it were Kolb he probably would of been dead.

Dude Ive had to watch the "running QB" for most of the last 20 years. And while its won games it hasnt won championships. Speaking for myself as an Eagles fan, I just want to see the old fashioned pocket passer firing precision timed passes instead of trying to run scramble for 5 minutes to make a play. And I want that guy to play and cement his role on the team. Whether it be Kolb or not. If he plays for a year like shit and just doesnt progress Id want Reid to draft another QB to compete for the job the next year. I

m not a blind fan for Kolb, but yea I want that old time stand in the pocket and make your throws quarterback. Take the hits, dont run around and make the plays. I cant help it if that type of QB is usually white and the scrambling for his life running all over the field QB is usually black.

Yea but how many QBs have the weapons he has now for 10 years straight? Thats why I thought he was gonna have a monster year. And those same weapons are REALLY helping Vick too. Thats why he didnt have to run alot today. Maclin and Jackson made some phenominal catches, on phenominal throws.

And I said Vick was playing the position good, but he ran his ass off last week because his line was swiss cheese, I wouldnt fault him for it in that kind of situation.

You know what? MAYBE they couldve. But if those guys were in there, would the coach have been as conservative as he was with Dilfer? Would he have comitted to the run as much as he did or taken more chances with the pass? Passes that could cost you?

Because I dont give a fuck what anyone says, the Eagles shouldve won that 04 Super Bowl. It shouldve been over in the first half. McNabb fucking choked that half away. Dont believe me? i guarantee you Bill Parcells runs just the same as he did with Hostetler. Bill is stubborn like that. With the Ravens, maybe you have a point, but remember they werent that conservative with dilfer in the actual SB. They threw at Sehorn all day. Its wasnt just dont make mistakes, they took shots.

And maybe McNabb had a bad day, but it was 1 game. you cant say there is no way a mobile QB could win when there have been a couple who have and a few who were a play or a few plays away. Vick is playing an NFL offense, with weapons that are there for at least 4 more years. Would it be so horrible to maybe keep him, get a future franchise QB, fix the oline over the next year or 2?

you cant say that straight up though. Young had 10 times the weapons McNair ever had in the passing game, and those niners teams had good lines and played the west coast, so the passes were short and quick. Its alot easier to not have to run when all your routes are 4-7 yards. McNair ran more only cause his team wasnt as good, not because he was more of a runner

No it wouldnt be so bad. Thats why after watching ESPN this morning I felt a little better about it. But last week when it went from "Kolb is the starter" to "Vick is the starter the rest of thee year" to "Weve gotten trade offers for Kolb we have to look into" I just couldnt take it.

And hey you never know about the whole mobile QB thing, but when your team has had that for the majority of 20 years and still hasnt won a Super Bowl, you tend to want something different. Im sure Cleveland would LOVE to have a mobile QB because having a pocket passer for them hasnt paid off ever. Well thats how alot of Eagles fans are.

I sit back and watch guys like Roethlisberger, Manning, Brady, Brees and such hoisting the trophy year after year and those guys run like they are wearing ice skates. It gets old seeing the same kind of shit every year from your team.

And again I agree with everything you said about McNair and Young. Im not sayiong he wasnt justified in running more, just that he did. I just always giggle at this whole "Young was a running QB" theory. Even when they kept saying it back then it was like the media was trying to say "LOOK! Rothlisberger is fuckin mobile. I dont know how much you watch him, but he has probably top 3 escapability in the whole league. He is not a pocket passer first, or wasnt until last year or 2.

also another point about Vick leading the one of the past teams to a SB with a great coach, theres one point your missing, VICK Can Not Produce In Pressure Situations.

I seen the guy play for the Falcons for years....every time he got the chance to produce, except beating Green Bay at Lambeau in the wild card game, he choked. Everytime he got the ball, he was crushed. He would get the ball, take a 2 second look downfield and run only to have a linebacker stuff him into the ground. That was with great protection as well!

I've never been a fan of Michael Vick. I just seen him just give up way too easily in way too many games as a Falcon.

Well, the problem with Vick had always been that if you shut down his main gimmick, which was taking off and running, he didn't really have anything to fall back on, because his other skills as a quarterback were so desperately underdeveloped. That is, make him play like an old-school, stay-in-the-pocket-and-throw QB, he was mediocre at best.

He does seem to be a little better at that aspect of the game now, but we'll see. I'm not completely sold yet.

ScottFromGA

I mean I can't take away anything from the guy NOW...I haven't really paid much attention to his play now other than a few plays I seen when Kolb couldn't start in week 2. He may have been able to develop into a well rounded QB now but like you said, Knox...when you take his legs out, he's no better than Joey Harrington.

Eagles fans better not get excited yet, is all I'm really saying.

I love when the calling the timeout before the FG thing backfires.

And wasn't Frank Gore saying they were the ones that "beat themselves" against the Saints, and that they were the better team? Yikes, good showing against the Chiefs.

Kolb should invest in comfy headsets and shiny new clipboard... Vickadelphia has made the Iggles a contender in the depleted NFC............

also Janokowski and Hartley should be cut on the spot... 60 Minutes of Smash Mouth Football by both Offensive and Defensive Lines all down the drain because these 2 Sissy Kickers missed glorified Extra Points and cost their team a hard earned win .......

like they say...."you can take the "ding" out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the "ding"."

he's scum and always will be. Just cause he served a third of what a typical person would serve and can run a fucking football doesn't make him a changed person. I'm just giving you a warning....first time he goes down with an injury, Kolb will be your starter within 5 games.

are you saying Vick served a lighter sentence then the avg would have gotten? I hope you truly dont believe that. He received the highest sentence he could or should have received. They basically changed the law to give him that sentence. They said the avg person received no more then 30 days for dog fighting convictions and in most cases they would get probation.

i also love how you act like someone cant change over 4 years or mature even a little.

And yea, sometimes vick would fuck up in pressure situations cause he had to try to do everything himself cause he had guys like Peerless Price droppin everything.

Look im not sayin he is a stud, but he has weapons now, and seems to be playing a smarter, more mature game. Can we maybe wait and see what happens instead of assuming that he is going to be exactly the same as he was 5 years ago before he lost everything.

and yea, he didnt really receive a light sentance. In fact, his sentance was probably worse than what a normal non famous person woulda got, especially the fines and shit.

I have to agree on this, as Vick was pretty damn one dimensional in the past, which works over a 16 game season, but not over the course of a playoff where good coaches/D coordinators can scheme to shut that down. However, Vick so far has really looked good and has gone through his progressions a LOT! I made a point to watch his footwork, progressions, and mobility in the pocket versus taking off in that game. I have to say, he did a very good job overall.

Yet like Knox, I'm far from sold just yet, as the true test comes with a good pressure D in town. Still, he can fail in a game or two, even the best do. Overall, he's calmed down, is making good reads and staying with the progressions versus running and finding open options at #3/#4 and showing great POCKET mobility, not running often when it's there. I think Reid is doing a good job of giving him some safe runs (designed) here and there throughout a game (1 per QTR) to feed the beast too. It's obvious he's trying to remold Vick at a perfect time. He's been off the field for a few years and is more easily reset now then ever.

Looking at Philly's schedule and I really don't see any top flight D coming up unless Dallas or someone else shows promise or lives up to it. There are no push overs coming up on D either, so at least it'll be a better test than Detroit and Jax (how long till they axe their coach?).

Agreed....He is looking better than Vick 1.0

Man I was the biggest non fan of Vick from way back. I always argued wuth anyone who would listen about his career 53 % completion rating or his QB rating which hovered around 74 the paltry 6.8 yds per attempt. They always said athletic ability and skills aydda yadda and I'd call bullshit and cite his stats.

His numbers this year so far: 63.8 comp % 105.5 QB rating and average yds per attempt closer to 9.

He looks like a totally different QB staying put and going thru his reads. He is alot more patient but he still has the gas in the jets to a degree. I did not think it possible but he may be around in a starting role for a few years to come. If not in Philly ....somewhere.

I fear he will humble the Washington D next week. He is going to get Andre Carter or D Hall in space and make them look foolish. Just a hunch.

that spray shit wouldnt do anything for cramps. They just rub out the cramp until its gone. it may come back it may not. but to keep cramps away by fluids, you have to start days before hand.

Yeah but that was a stupid intentional grounding play. Come on, run a few more steps forward, and then throw it away. Just watch some Payton Manning film.

Jesus what an awful fumble.

These announcers are fucking up constantly, so he just said the ruling on the field was packers ball. I am sure he meant bears ball.

when you buy steak, its been frozen already once, generally. Freezing it a second time makes it alot worse in terms of quality. Maybe you had never frozen steaks (unlikely but), but I dont know. I notice a huge difference, same with chicken and fish. So I never freeze anything, i just buy it when im ready to eat it

I have purchased unfrozen steaks before and then froze them. I have also purchased steaks from Omaha steaks that have arrived frozen and kept them that way til time to cook them.

is this the only way cutler can move the ball?!

i'm beginning to believe so

it's hard to defend against receivers when every ball is thrown SEVERELY under or over the target. not to mention the bear wrs and tes are getting away with a lot while the dbs aren't allowed to touch them.

Screw that. I would have agreed with you before last week. He was getting his ass beat, literally, then pulled it together and took that game over against Dallas. The guy's changing. Martz is having an effect. Get him another receiver and then he'll really get it going.

So if about a month ago, I said to you, "There will be 3 undefeated teams in the NFL after Week 3, what will they be?" I really doubt anyone would have guessed the Bears, the Steelers, and the Chiefs.

Hell, I doubt many people would have guessed even one of those teams correctly.

if ever I was asked to defend my watching DWTS, all i need to show is the 2nd half of this game and say cause this was on

I literally just turned on the game and saw him throw to the wrong team 3 fucking times. He still blows and is getting Detroit game type lucky. He'll bite you in the ass soon enough, don't you worry. Insulin boy isn't winning on his own and started turning it around the last few weeks of 09 before Martz. Plain and simple, smoke and mirrors my friend...LOTS of smoke.
